Environmentalist Children’s Book Author Also Happens to Be…a Serial Killer?

Just when you thought you’ve heard everything…it gets infinitely more bizarre.
As it turns out, environmentalist children’s book author J.D. Bauer — once described as a “reclusive” woman — is in fact a man by the name of Charles Kembo. But, that’s not really the bad part. No, the bad part is that Kembo is a convicted serial killer.
You read that correctly: serial killer.
The Canadian environmental activist who wrote the book, “The Trinity of Superkidds: Quest for Water” is, according to the The Province, currently serving time in prison for murdering his wife, mistress, friend, and stepdaughter.
In his own words, “Quest for Water” is a story of, “teenage heroes gifted with a variety of exotic superpowers which they use to inspire, raise awareness and vanquish water waste and pollution in a fun, fast-paced adventure.”
What’s more, “J.D. Bauer” even has a Facebook page with nearly 4,000 “Likes.”
Jezebel adds:
The book has sold impressively well, with all proceeds apparently going to the World Food
Programme. Along with it, Kembo created the identity of Bauer, a female author who has a Facebook page and even gave interviews. In one interview with Suite101, “Bauer” said:
“TSK book series is a product of sheer desperation. Since 1966, Canada has had laws against water pollution. Internationally, most governments have weaker laws against water pollution. And those with tough laws, enforcement is an issue. Result? Water pollution galore. Solution? Get youth involved in the TSK crusade to conserve water and find its pollution. I hope the Superkidds become exceptional role models, better yet, a powerhouse of inspiration to youth today.”
In another, “she” explained her “reclusive” reputation thus:
My family have been a subject of extortion for a number of years. Lately, I have received threats on my life from some fanatical groups. I pulled off my profile photo online for safety reasons after being advised to do so by my lawyers and the police. How are death threats fair to writers?
“Death threats” and “role models?” Perhaps terms not best used by a convicted serial killer.
Odd when one has greater concern for the environment than human life. Even more disturbing is when that person is given a platform with which to shape children’s impressionable minds.

Posted on November 5, 2011 at 9:28amSerial killer is probably used wrong here.
It is defined as 3 or more killings over at least a month and generally there are “cooling off” periods. Also usually they are people unknown to the killer.
This guy killed family, and probably in quick succession. He is just a murderer.Though mass murderer is defined a 4 or more in a short time frame and is applicable here.
Yeah…I’m being nitpicky…a killer is a killer….

Posted on November 5, 2011 at 6:54am@ JZS:
Breivik was not a true Christian, he WAS NOT a follower of Christ, did not apply Jesus’ teachings but considered himself “christian” only in the way that he was not Muslim or Jewish! He did not publish his “tract,” it was put forward on the internet as part of information concerning the news item of his acts.
You guys really need to study the Bible and learn what a true Christian is–it’s not anyone who CLAIMS to be “christian,” it is not the social justice adherants such as Jim Wallis, and it is not the varous “reverends” who at one time may have preached in a church, but are now political hacks! Jesus first and only and spreading his Gospel (Good News) is the mark of a Christian and “By their fruits you shall know them.” Matthew 7:16 (The Bible)

I am so glad you provided the link to support your position..no? you didn’t?
I have done extensive searches and found the only thing this mentally ill man published was his 1500 page “manifesto” which, if read, resembles nothing of Christ, the author of Christianity.
.
The killing he perpertrated were drug induced, “it also emerged the Utøya Island massacre was, partly, drug-fuelled. Lippestad said the gunman had taken unspecified drugs in order “to be strong, to be efficient, to keep him awake“ during the shootings” (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jul/26/norway-killer-breivik-surprised-stopped).
No genuine “blood bought, sanctified, holy-spirit filled” follower of Christ would behave the way that man did.

Posted on November 5, 2011 at 10:47pmHumbleCitizen, maybe you missed it, but this was international news for several weeks. I assumed people knew the details.
I think it’s a nice convenience when someone who declares himself a Christian, professes belief in God and quotes scripture, is deemed “not a Christian” based on his acts. If someone claims to be a Christian commits a crime in the name of Christianity it’s so easy to say “he’s not a Christian.” But when anyone who claims to be of Islam commits a crime, there’s no similar consideration, even though the overwhelming majority Muslims abhore act of that kind.

Posted on November 6, 2011 at 5:35am@JZS – your arguments are pretty flawed. For one…show me outrage from any group of muslims towards “radical acts”….I am sure it is merely a radical or two burning churches and killing christians in Egypt. Waste your time elsewhere….your a troll amateur.

Posted on November 5, 2011 at 12:44amHe’s not a serial killer – he’s a mass murderer. Doesn‘t make him any better as a children’s author, but bad reporting like this makes me think Glenn hires kids right out of high school to write his copy.

Posted on November 5, 2011 at 2:03amI had thought mass murderer, too,Doug, as the article doesn’t give details, but looked into the case, and the victims were each killed about a year apart, from 2002-2005. So that’s generally classified a serial killing — again, not that it matters, but it does indicate a whole lot lot of premeditation, as opposed to a crime of passion, in which someone just “goes off.”

somebody who murders many people: a murderer who kills a number of people over a period of time, especially somebody who uses the same method each time
In June 2010, Kembo was convicted of four counts of first-degree murder by a B.C. Supreme Court jury. Kembo’s victims were adults killed between October 2002 and July 2005. Kembo was sentenced to life in prison without parole eligibility for 25 years.
“You are a serial killer,” Supreme Court Justice Sunni Stromberg-Stein told Kembo during sentencing, according to the Vancouver Sun

What you fail to realize is that ideas are far more powerful than weapons. this idea focused at the most voulnerable… our kids… is the most damaging since it has run thru our schools, our government & our churches unchecked for almost 80 years. Its the heart of the progressive movement.
I cant say that we will come out of the other end of this fight with Progressives, Communists, Marxist, Islamists, anarchist & any other “ist” the evil in this world wants to throw at us … Just call it what it is… Hate… We wont come out the same as we went into this fight. But I do believe we will be stronger when this is over as a nation… as a Christian Nation.
Not in this next election… there is quite a battle ahead for our freedoms to come.
What encourages me tho… The Darkness doesn’t understand the light… & The light WILL Pierce THIS Darkness!!
it would be a good thing Phillip if you take your blinders off so you can see what is truly coming.

Posted on November 5, 2011 at 12:25amDo away with the EPA. That could be a chant. But really we could increase MPG and lower maintenance costs on our trucks and autos by chopping these standards imposed on U.S. by an agency which is not VOTED in and right now the most powerful agency in the U.S. We can nearly double MPG by not starving our internal combustion of oxygen which is necessary for combustion. I have been a mechanic for about 30 years and I have seen the damage of the emission standards and the ethanol introduced gasoline. It makes mechanics happy but, I like to see long range use of a vehicle instead of changing every few years. We have plenty of proven resources to KILL our dependence on mideast oil. We have NO voice in Washington. Last year 2010 we sent $1Trillion to countries that hate U.S.for their oil. What’s wrong with U.S.? Why can’t we produce our own fuel and be independent from foreign oil? GIVE IT A CHANCE!!! WASHINGTON…we are getting fed up.
