Eric Holder Enthusiastically Touts Re-Launch of Justice Dept‘s ’Civil Rights Division’

Last Friday, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder spoke to the left-leaning American Constitution Society (ACS), where he enthusiastically announced the re-opening of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights division, among other domestic subjects. According to Real Clear Politics, Holder said:
“Now, some of you know during this administration’s first fiscal year the Department filed a record number of civil rights criminal cases.
“We’ve also expanded enforcement efforts to guarantee that in our work places, our military bases, in our housing and lending markets, in our voting booths in our border areas, in our schools and places of worship. And I mean all places of worship.”
Real Clear Politics reminds readers that, though Holder speaks of consistently upholding Americans’ civil rights, it was he who made the call to drop charges in the infamous Black Panther’s case.
Holder also tackled his take on the civilian courts and their role in fighting terrorism. According to a press release put out by ACS, Holder “called on…progressive allies to work collectively to ‘reestablish our nation’s moral authority.’” He reiterated his belief that the civil justice sustem should be involved in combating the terrorism:
“Here are the facts. Every single suspected terrorist captured on American soil – before and after the September 11th attacks – has first been taken into custody by law enforcement – not the United States military. … Since 9/11, hundreds of individuals have been convicted of terrorism or terrorism-related offenses in civilian courts. Not one of these individuals has escaped custody. Not one of the judicial districts involved has suffered retaliatory attacks.”

I have no problem w/ letting US courts handle terrorists caught in the US but all terrorists caught abroad must be tried by military tribunal as should those deemed “enemy combatants” (fighting for a foreign nation-state) werever they are caught.
As far as energizing the civil rights division, let’s just make sure is color blind & not only worried about people of color.

He forgot to mention that this applies only to minorities as revealed by the black panther case and DOJ lawyers who came forward in the last year. Just like the current adminstration, the worst Attorney General of all time.
