So, What Does the ‘Most Heavily Democratic Large State’ Think About Obama’s Job Performance?

Quinnipiac Poll Shows Majority Disapproval in Liberal NYIn what will certainly not be viewed as a sign of “hope” by President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, nearly half of New York State voters disapprove of the job he’s doing.

Considering that New York is the most Democratic large state in the nation, this revelation is certainly disconcerting for a president who is actively eyeing a second election win next year.

According to a new poll conducted by Quinnipiac, 49 percent of New Yorkers view his job performance negatively, with just 45 percent saying that they approve of the work he has done thus. The results also show that 48 percent of New Yorkers believe Obama deserves a second term, with 46 percent saying that he does not.

Although National Journal sums up just how compelling these numbers are, the outlet also highlights one of the positives seen in the results for the Democratic Party:

This in a state that Obama won with 63 percent of the vote three years ago. Still, he has managed to hold onto a lead over a generic Republican, with 49 percent saying they would vote for him to 34 percent for the GOP candidate.

Among Democrats, 75 percent still approve of his performance, with only 19 percent disapproving. On the flip side, a mere 10 percent of Republicans approve, with a whopping 86 percent disapproving. These proportions are, contrary to the others, to be expected.

Quinnipiac Poll Director Maurice Carroll says that the drop in overall support is a direct result of this summer’s contentions debt-ceiling debate. At the end of June, Obama had an approval rating of 57 percent, with only 38 percent disapproving.

Clearly, New Yorkers have soured — at least for the time being.

I agree 100% with LILLY! I dont put much value on these polls, they are indicators but not in stone. For as many polled there are twice as many not polled with completely different opinion in the same geographic area! I will agree they disapprove of him but they WILL re-elect him! Sorry but thats the sad truth as much as the socialists dislike him, according to this poll, they will put him back in using every excuse they know. Same excuses he has been using esp the blame Bush joke!

“Oh you cant fix what Bush and GOP have done over 8yrs in only 4… as much as I disapprove of what Obama is doing we have to give him more time” Sounds about right, I bet many of you will see and hear that line spewed by the left!

Now can someone please explain the liberal disease? Why do they think its okay to take what one earned, through blood sweat and teears, to give to another b/c “they deserve it”? Is this all just a result of the entitlement generation spawned from being told “yes you can” “do whatever you want” all epitomized with being rewarded with a trophy or certificate for just showing up?

Am I asking the impossible here, does the answer require a book be written or can it be summed up as a mental disorder? http://SavingtheRepublic.com

I can not fathom 20% of the population responding positively to the job Obama has done. The fact that America is still around the 50% mark just blows my mind, and makes me wonder if we have past the point of no return. Three decades of MTV indoctrination, public schools in the hands of democrats, and a few generations of gutless males who no longer know how to be the head of the family, and we have become a nations of ignorant morons, who no longer see communism/socialism as a bad thing. the man declared hs run for the presidency in the living room of a known communist and domestic terrorist????? How can Americans be so stupid as to still want him as their president?

      @RangerP

      Rangers’ opinion of BO please?

BO & his ilk are sabotaging the economy by interfering with private sector, raising taxes, & unprecedented insurmountable debt.

BO must be removed & the damage undone pursuant to Article 2, Section 1, “No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible…”

Exempting a citizen from being a natural born citizen, proves they’re not equal. Natural born exceeds minimal citizenship requirements at the time, of birth in the U.S. of a U.S. citizen father, leaving just one possibility, which was later confirmed by the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court, Minor v. Happersett, 1874. “The Court held that Minor was a member of the “class” of persons who were natural born citizens. They defined this class as those born in the US to “parents” (plural) who were citizens.” This is “binding precedent as to the Constitutional definition of a natural born citizen.”[1]

BO’s Kenyan father precluded being a natural born citizen!

Demand elected officials remove BO now, in accordance with their sworn oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

      1. Leo Donofrio, JD., “Minor v. Happersett Is Binding Precedent…,” http://naturalborncitizen.wordpress.com/2011/06/24/minor-v-happersett-is-binding-precedent-as-to-the-constitutional-definition-of-a-natural-born-citizen/

Not all of us in NY fit this profile and upstate ny are republicans mostly. I find your comments very offensive its like saying everyone who live down south are slow. Upstate and the city are like night and day and us upstate folks get sick and tired of paying high taxes to pay for that city. I wish they would cut that part off and make it like DC its own district then maybe our taxes here would go down. Obama was wise to hide his school records and thesis paper. The more people know about him, the less confidence they will have in him. NY is a tough town… with a lot of street smarts. I always admired their ability to see through the smoke screen and cut straight to the core. Unfortunately… majority of the population there has been inebriated by hollywood, fashion, commercialism and food stamps. Sad really. Just hope they aren’t disapproving because they are still having to pay for their gas and mortgages.

As a New Yorker, I don’t find this to be an aberration. When polling NY, the MSM always go to liberal-infested NYC, ignoring the rest of us folk up here.

Get out of the City, and you’ll find (if liberals dare), we lean center-right to center-left. We quibble on details at times, but for the most part we get along and tend to be in general agreement about our lives. Unlike NYC, which is polarized and in constant combat. Stupid…

And, in practical reality, liberals are stupid.

    Why?

New York City. They trump everything the rest of the state votes on. Look at the whole Gay Marriage Crap. Most of the state was NO. New York City, with its money, influence and arrogance told Albany and the rest to shove it. They will continue to vote for Obummer and Schumer, and Gillebrand, and Nadler, and the likes of Anthony Weiner.
