Even Jon Stewart is Calling Obama’s Bus Tour a Campaign Event

The White House has consistently claimed that President Obama’s three-day bus tour is an official event, not a campaign one. That‘s been hard to defend considering the president’s speeches during the tour stops have sounded an awful lot like stump speeches. And now even Jon Stewart is calling out the White House for trying to hide the tour’s true colors.
In a three-and-a-half minute clip, Stewart pointed out — using video of Obama — why it‘s absurd to claim that tour isn’t campaign-related. From the red, white, and blue buntings donning the stage at one stop, to pandering to the crowd, to testing out new campaign material, Stewart believes the tour’s goals were obvious.
“Obama is back in campaign mode already?” Stewart asked in disbelief, before mockingly suggesting, “I’m sure the President just had some frequent Greyhound miles to spare.”

Posted on August 17, 2011 at 9:06am…and a totally lame campaign bus tour at that. Obama says he’s out there to listen to the people but, when the Tea Party guy asked him about Biden’s comments, he admonished him for not listening. Go on and go to Martha’s Vineyard Barry, maybe you‘ll do less harm to America while you’re away.

Posted on August 17, 2011 at 8:53amLet them have their fun now. Obama can continue to get his kicks riding on his Obama-Vader Death Star Shuttle. It unclear if he is trying to win voters or intimidate them. His credibility only shrink with each passing day. To Obama I say, if I may borrow from your mentor, “Now your failure is complete”. The only question remaining is how much more damage can he inflict on us before this nightmare is finally over.

Posted on August 17, 2011 at 8:51amOK, let’s consider where we are .. we MUST get Obama out of the White House, and 15 months is a long time considering the damage already done. The guy is fragmenting under criticism; he and his team are not holding up to push-back very well, are they? I like Rick Perry right now and though he is acting a little cocky, that may be exactly what is needed against the most arrogant empty shirt ever elected. Forget the black vote .. they will stick with him. I don’t think Republicans should even worry about them too much. Hispanics? Maybe. But with the results of 3 years of Obama slapping us in the face every day (have you been to the grocery store lately??), we want to keep the goal steadily in our sights: kick Obama and all the communists he brought with him out! I don’t even care that much who the Republican candidate ends up being. The country’s future depends on it.

The country’s future depends on it.” I’m with you on most of it but remember why the folks got Obama in the first place. Bush was screwing up and we know it. Tried being all things to all people and you know what Lincoln said about that. Spent us into serious debt, kissed democrat butt with his bill passages. Remember who ran against Obama? Obama Lite, in more ways than one. We don’t need more politicians like Newt and Rick. We’ll be right back where we started in 5 to 10 years. We need the states to take back governance that is constitutionally theirs by law and kill off BIG Washington Gvt’. But those hand outs are just too good to pass up. Too much pandering. And how does one state of 3 million tell the rest of the 300+ million people who to elect? IT”S TOO LATE.

Report Post »beekeeper
Posted on August 17, 2011 at 10:21amAbsolutely.
Rather than run around campaigning for another 4 years, why not actually do the job you have? Every job he’s ever held has merely been a stepping stone to the next (higher) job. Now he’s like someone carrying a big box up the stairs – he doesn‘t realize he’s at the top step then when he steps up for the next step (that isn’t there), he stumbles.
He’s campaigning to be President so he can implement his plans to fix the problems in the country once re-elected, all the while not realizing he actually IS President already and could implement his changes NOW.

Posted on August 17, 2011 at 9:23amNemo13…….My feelings exactly. I don’t care what the “expert” pundits (Rove, etc) have to say, so why should I care about what a comedian’s opinion is. Stewart’s comments are geared for “in-your-face” comedy, NOT deep insightful political analysis…..(even if he is correct!) Comedians have poked jabs at politicians since there has been comedians and politicians.
Why do we never see coverage on the Blaze of political cartoonist Michael Remirez (brilliant stuff!), but almost daily (no pun intended) there is a story about Jon Stewart…… Someone at the Blaze has a Stewart fixation…..Way too much coverage of this guy.

For the life of me the man has never even tried to be the president for all Americans, he consistently slams and belittles others at every opportunity. I do not recall any president being in this mode outside of campaign time. When 9/11 hit I don’t recall Dubya (for whom I have no respect) running out and screeching about the Democrats being at fault. Obama on the other hand can’t stop blaming others for everything. He represents nobody but himself.

It’s the same story with virtually every gd eeo candidate for a job– you hire the sob and then all he can do is make excuses for why he cannot do his job and show up every day and usually it’s something the you, the employer, are doing wrong.
America: You change the rules, you can take from one group and give to another, you make it easier for a group who’s been disadvantaged to get ahead by holding down obviously qualified people. In other words, you can become irrational in order to try to make things better for some people. You can do every thing you can think of to try to make up for the wrongs of the past. What do you get for your efforts? A minimum performer who has an excuse for every failing, every mistake every stumble, A character without character.

Perry: Americans Need Work, Not Symbolism; We Need New Jobs, Not New Agencies
Posted on August 16th, 2011
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA – Texas Gov. Rick Perry today visited Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he criticized President Obama’s proposal to create a new jobs agency as a solution to economic recovery. He also reiterated his call for the Administration to issue a six-month freeze on new regulations to help free employers to create more jobs for Americans.
“What is this president’s plan to fix the economy? Apparently to create a new jobs agency,” Gov. Perry said. “Mr. President, we have tried two and a half years of government creating jobs, it’s time to let the private sector get to work. Americans need work, not symbolism. We need new jobs, not new agencies. If you want to create jobs, don’t create a new agency, and stop all the unnecessary regulations of the agencies you already control.”

Posted on August 17, 2011 at 10:28amThe secret service ordered the two buses mainly for use when they have to protect political candidates. At a certain point in the campaign, I’m not sure when, the Secret Service starts protecting candidates. These buses will likely be used by Perry, Rommney, or Bachman in 2012 once they ‘earn’/‘deserve’ Secret Service protection.
BTW, there are no beds on the bus…

I don’t have a problem with people disagreeing with my opnions but be FAIR about it. It looks like Jon Stewart might be taking notice of how ridiculous this has all become against us for just having differing opinions. If that continues than Hurray for you Jon. I will become your biggest fan if you starting seeing the truth for the truth, even if I disagree with your views on the solutions. Lets just have a fair and open debate about it and when you’re wrong, admit it and I’ll stand by you just as much as Glenn Beck or Limbaugh or anyone. Very funny.
