Even MSM Doesnt Buy One Nation Claim That 10/2 Rally Attendance Topped Becks

You may have watched the clip of “One Nation” attendees being told that “satellite images” proved that their rally exceeded attendance at the “Restoring Honor” rally.

The Blaze survey of mainstream media reports finds a good deal of skepticism about such claims.

Let’s check a few.

The New York Times:

Noting that they began planning their rally in April, organizers said they were not responding to a march organized by Glenn Beck, which drew enormous crowds to the front of the Lincoln Memorial on Aug. 28. But they acknowledged that their hope was to draw an even larger crowd to Saturday’s event.

Significant areas of the National Mall that had been filled during Mr. Beck’s rally were empty. In a broadcast on Thursday, Mr. Beck criticized the liberals’ march, saying his supporters paid their own way to drive to Washington, while labor unions chartered hundreds of buses to ferry demonstrators to Saturday’s rally.

Associated Press:

Organizers claimed they had as many participants as Beck’s rally. But Saturday‘s crowds were less dense and didn’t reach as far to the edges as they did during Beck’s rally. The National Park Service stopped providing official crowd estimates in the 1990s.

Washington Post:

More than 400 groups endorsed the “One Nation Working Together” rally, which organizers said drew a crowd of 175,000 people – about what they expected. Beck has estimated that 500,000 people came to his gathering. There are no official counts of crowds on the Mall, and the National Park Service no longer provides such estimates.

Politico:

Organizers said they were expecting more than 100,000 to attend the rally. Thousands of people packed the area around the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, but based on an unscientific estimate there were significantly fewer people than when Fox News’ Glenn Beck hosted the conservative “Restoring Honor” rally there Aug. 28. At that rally, attendees were forced to stand shoulder to shoulder the entire length of the Reflecting Pool.

The crowd was large, but seemed smaller than the crowd at the Beck rally. Nevertheless, Schultz announced that he was told the crowd was bigger than at Restore Honor. The U.S. Park Police did not release an official estimate.

NPR:

Economic anxieties and fears that the nation was headed in the wrong direction were picked up by reporters who talked with some of the estimated 175,000, who attended according to organizers.  Of course, attendees at Saturday’s “One Nation Working Together” event had a different analysis of the causes of the nation’s problem than those who attended the much larger Beck rally.

      Just shows you what these COMUNESTS rallies think of America and what our flag represents to the Communist labor moments. didn’t you notice all the HAMMER AND SICAL banners flying on high. There were maybe 75,000 in attendance’s and most of them were PROGRESSIVES and die hard Communists. But the Progressive media will try to doctor the overhead shots to support their big lie. Sad what the so called main stream Media has now become. I guess main stream really represents our under ground sewer system.

    The side by side pictures show a dramatic difference. It clearly was well short of 100,000 probably more like 50,000. Does anyone know if the pics were taken at similar times during the day?

      Judging from the shadow cast in the Reflecting Pool in would appear to be around the same time of day. It will not surprise me come tomorrow that Glenn will post time stamped photos from both events. I’m sure some went up the Washington Monument each hour to take time stamped photos

      Whatever time of day the picture was taken, you can bet your life that it was their best picture with the largest crowd of the day ~ otherwise, they would not have released that particular picture.

      Judging by the shadows in the 10/2 picture, I’d guess that it was taken @ 1:00 PM, which would be the high point of the rally. The view is from East to West, and the shadows appear to be pointing due North.

      The photo of the 8/28 rally shows a more overcast sky, and, in August the sun is more directly overhead, so the shadows are shorter, and less visible. By the size of the crowd though, I’d guess it was @ the same time of day.

    The MSM is in a pickle… if they DON‘T say that the 1numb nation rally is HUGE they can’t advance the agenda… they have to say it is small to keep the illusion that the low numbers they have been saying the 9/28 rally had match the pics of this low attended rally. Glenn is a genius they can’t win. And this BIG Lie hurts them either way… if they lie it shows them as frauds because video/pictures don’t lie. if they don’t lie then the truth is show to the people and all their lies to this point are brought out into the open. He can no show video/pics of his rally in juxtaposition to this one. The one the MSM said was full of Hate and lies doesn’t show that will the one they say is full of love and puppy dogs is vile and spiteful.

    My hope is that Glenn goes about his Monday shows and totally ignores the events of 10/2. Their gathering was a “boil” on the a_ _ of life and doesn’t really deserve attention – they received way too much before the event. Bottom line: Faith, hope and charity won!

You would have served the community better by hosting a rally that actually had some meaning to it other than to spread hate and lies!       I caught that too! So here we have one correct statement. There were more people at the 10/2 rally than on 8/29 because Glenn’s rally was on 8/28.

    Who really cares how big the crowd was for Saturday’s communist/socialist gathering? Beck’s gathering was for a good cause – raising money and awareness for service men and women. Saturday’s gathering was nothing more than a get together of haters of this great country. In the end, Beck’s gathering was great for the country and for those who will benefit from the millions of dollars raised. Saturday‘s event was supported by a bunch of unions who steal their members’ money to further their own selfish causes. It is right vs. wrong plain and simple.

      The good of the rally was the guest/support list. All the regular union members are now shown clear and convincing evidence that THEIR unions waste THEIR dues to sponsor and support these avowed enemies of America. That graphic presentation is the GOOD of the event. Much as Rush and the later conservatives on radio taught us that we are not alone and that we don’t have to just be quiet because everyone else is on board, this event TEACHES many that it is only the lunatic fringe supporting this agenda and its time to kick them to the curb.

    Typical union mentality. Take the free trip DC and then leave as soon as your attendance is counted. It was over 90 degrees on 8/28 and we stayed until the end and cleaned up the grounds before heading back to our buses. Guess that wasn’t in the job description for 10/2.

      I was wondering about that myself. One thought that did occur to me is that since it was very clear that the Mall area was left in pristine condition following 8/28, one way to silently protest the enforced attendance might be leaving the trash behind. Now I have seen pictures of the trash left behind, which actually was much less than I expected, since I also saw the trash left behind after B.O. was sworn in. But there was enough to get the point across. Just a thought.

      What is also concerning is that they may have paid for 500,000 members to show up. I heard a quote that 1,600 busses had been chartered. If so, that is a lot of unused seats and a lot of waste but in some cases that is the union way.

      I was praying that the D.C. area would have torrential downpours, but realize that with 20/20 hindsight, that would have given these wingnuts an excuse. Also, I’m willing to bet that some of those union members were there simply to keep their jobs, which can’t be lightly dismissed in this day and age.

      However, I am floored that the MSM actually is admitting there weren’t hundreds of thousands of attendees (paid or otherwise). Maybe they are beginning to realize that we actually can tell the truth from a lie and we’re not interested in their talking heads continually spewing dreck.

    I kept hearing references to Dr. King’s “I have a dream” speech. They had a dream alright, that their “march” (why did they call it a “march” I didn’t see anyone marching?) was larger than the Restoring Honor Rally – that was their dream, and it seems they can’t or are refusing to wake up from dreamland.

      I heard one of the speakers proclaim that we are being irresponsible because we are not preparing our children for global government and the ideals surrounding the implementation of global citizenship. That they will not be prepared is a sin against humanity and they will not be able to function in the new world order as good as others will be.

      These people need to be convicted of treason against America and hung or exiled to the nearest communist/marxist country ASAP.

      The better news is – the Unions and Demorats spent money on a rally that can’t be used in November. Eventually, economics will prevail – MSM, Unions and the lefty rich will grow tired of spending money with little to no return.       One thing I noticed was a total lack of engagement by the crowd. In one segment that was aired (I think when “I’ve” Ben Jealous was speaking) you could hear a constant buzz of talking from the audience, kind of like sitting in a busy restaurant. Maybe that is why the speakers felt they had to yell their speeches. Now, the bees aren’t the only ones who know – the politicians now know they are in trouble because these people are alledgedly their most ardent fans.

      Tonka. Very funny, but you forgot about the mandatory free bus ride. I wonder how much the unions paid to bus all those “willing” union members there? I’ll bet they would hve rather been home watching college football. LOL Of course all fo the black churches used their Sunday morning “heathan” buses (the one they send aroundthe neighbohoods to pick up the heathans and bring them to church) togive teir congreagations a free ride.       I watched it on C-span. Cameras seemed to shy away from crowd shots. When they did pan over, I saw a lot of grass, something I did not see on 8/28. There were a few shots through the trees and you could see few people under the trees, and the open park area on the other side was empty. It appears whoever was staging the event expected that as no provisions were made for jumbotrons in the open park area.

      2 points. First, the MSM is a liberal propaganda tool. You do not get the truth from them. If you watch them or support their sponsors you are supporting socialism. Period. Turn them off and let their sponsors know you are doing so. Second, liberalism is not rational. It is a mental disorder. You are not dealing with intelligent or rational people. To a be liberal you have to be obsessed with what others have and think that it is ok to take it from them by force. People who believe this are not good people. Period. It’s that simple. No one wants others to go hungry or to go with out but, it is not moral to force people pay for not those who can’t, but those that wont. I fear history is about to repeat itself and if it does we need to ensure that socialism outlawed and ostracized!

      When Joe Madison, at the One Nation Rally, said the satellite pic showed they had more, he was right. Listen to him carefully. He said more than Glenn Beck had on the 29th. Right! By the 29th we had all left. I was there on the 28th with Glenn Beck.

      Glenn said several times that he would be shocked if it were less than a 2 million turn out on October 2nd with all of the professional organizers involved and president’s endorsement. He even added that something would be radically wrong if the turnout were less.

      Well more than it being something radical I woke up this morning with a strong urging to add this:

      IT WAS A MIRACLE! And Glenn said to expect miracles. Expect miracles. Something supernatural psyched the opposition into such a low turn out. God not only pointed that out to me but urged me today this morning to put this in the blog before I did anything else. Call me crazy but I believe the almighty was kicking me to do this. So I am!

      To show up and voice your concerns….Based squarely on the pictures, there is no question who had more supporters. However I think that our voices need to get stronger and less bashful. Glen has showed time and again what America was founded on and where we are right now as a nation.
