Even President Obama‘s Former Doctor Thinks He Lacks ’Humanity’

When President Obama was first elected back in 2008, many observers hailed him as being a brilliant communicator who would erase all the tropes of Bush-era communication. Where Bush was inarticulate and stumbled over words like “nuclear,” Obama was crisp and clear with everything he said. Where Bush’s engagement with certain issues appeared to some to be fumbling and awkward, Obama would be a bright light of intelligence. And where Bush appeared to be an unquestionably warm person, Obama would be…well, a bit of a cold fish.

That last part has caused the President problems. In fact, over the course of the Obama Presidency, more than a few people have remarked that the President’s emotional engagement with issues is rather difficult to gauge. At times (like the 2010) BP oil spill, he has seemed to fumble awkwardly for some attempt at indignation or emotion, and his speeches have always come off as more than a little academic or pedantic. This has caused many people to wonder whether the President has poor handlers, or just doesn’t know how to talk to people.

New information revealed by President Obama’s own physician in the new book “Amateur” suggests that it’s the latter more than the former. Human Events includes the relevant excerpts, which depict the President as a cerebral, hyper-intellectualized man who is out of touch with his own emotions almost as much as he’s out of touch with the emotions of others:

In a revealing new book, The Amateur, author Edward Klein interviews President Barack Obama’s physician, Dr. David Scheiner, MD, who blasts the president’s health care plan and says that President Obama has an “academic detachment” that he could never break through.

The doctor fears that if the health care plan is “the failure” he believes it will be, because of runaway costs and other problems, then any health reform will be set back for years to come.[...]

Scheiner said that he believes the president miscalculated politically and that the health reform is ultimately doomed to fail. Worse, Scheiner doubts the character of a man who holds the highest and most influential office in America: “I think there is too much of the University of Chicago in him. By which I mean he’s academic, lacks passion and feeling, and doesn’t have the sense of humanity that I expected.”

The author, Klein, later in the book, compares Obama’s personality to early the 20th Century progressive president, Woodrow Wilson. By quoting the historian Forrest McDonald, who called Wilson’s perception of himself, “little short of Messianic,” Klein says that McDonald’s description of Wilson “fits Obama to a T.”

The comparison to Wilson, arguably the first really committed progressive president, isn’t surprising. What is surprising is that these harsh words are coming from a man who shares Obama’s political affiliations. The doctor in question is a liberal Democrat. Now, when even a member of the President‘s own party thinks he’s a little off, you have to wonder – just how on earth does this guy think?

      Barack Obama reminds me of the song cold as ice. A brother living in a hut, even today. An ant living in poverty right here is America, and she can’t even get a hold of him. The man doesn’t even have compassion for his own family. Why would we expect him to have any for the American people?

      Well, doc, you’re a little off. Obum is not “academic;” he’s indoctrinated. There’s a world of difference between the two. On those rare occasions when he can’t use the teleprompter, he pauses an average of three times to finish every sentence, and his language level drops ten notches. I’d hardly call that brilliant. In fact, it’s painful to watch.

      As for his “little short of Messianic perception of himself” and his “lack of feeling or sense of humanity,” what you’re really saying is that Obama is a narcissist and a borderline(?) sociopath.
      Absolutely, doc. America agrees with you 100%. Is there any chance we can institutionalize him — or something like that?

      If Barack didn’t want to pay $200 forever, could he not get his 1/2 brother in to a vocational school or help set him up with a business such as a small store?

      Well we really do not know how smart this man is do we. Nothing has been shown to us about his college days. Just because one can read well off of a telepromter and give great speeches others write does not mean they are intelligent.       Voting doesn’t get communists out of power. After all they count the votes.
      We have gone from a Constitutional Republic to a democracy where two hungry wolves and one lamb cast votes to see what is for supper. A well armed lamb can and must contest the vote.
      This problem could have been solved by General Patton and his men, but polititions prevented it.
      Polititions as lawyers do not solve problems. Heir actions create other problems. That’s why its called a practice. ( not a solution ) hot tar & feathers or a rope. Sometimes both.
      Withdraw from the IMF, audit the federal reserve and let the world economy collapse. Then & only then can we rebuild.

      @kryptonite…Most people, when trying to think of a word or phrase, move their eyes right or left .. his eyes have no expression. I have a theory that he pauses because he‘s waiting for the person who speaks to him through the embedded microphone in his ear hasn’t figured out the appropriate response to the question.

      If you attend movies, buy videos, magazines or any other thing produced in Hollywood or the entertainment industry, you should give some very serious thought to the fact that the people in Hollywood and the rest of the entertainment industry support with millions and millions of dollars, the cause of the communist socialist politicians and their movement to destroy our nation.
      If you attend any professional sports functions such as boxing, baseball, football, basketball or watch TV channels that air these sports events you are in need again of giving very serious thought to the fact that many, many of the players and coaches give millions to the communist socialist politicians who are ever closer to destroying our nation.
      Political correctness is thought control by way of fear of retribution in the schools, work place, in public institutions, and many other places where their used to be what was known as freedom of speech. Evil is good and good is evil, this is the idea behind political correctness it is subversive and evil of itself.
      Speak your mind, but more importantly BOYCOTT Hollywood movies or other products and BOYCOTT professional sports events in protest to the leftist socialist-communist movement in this country, take the money you would spend, and spend it on supporting ways to save our constitution, our government, freedom and our way of life.

    ooooh, I watched the Manchurian C. movie. Bush was not a fumbling doltish cowboy. He is a decent,kind man with a beautiful family. I would much rather have him back than what America is stuck with at the present moment.

    Obama is Herman the talking head. His job is to just ride it out. Prepare as if your life depended on it. America can get through this, it is a piece of cake. It does not stop there. The capitol is corruption beyond belief. The people living there do not even know what being an American means anymore. They are lost souls.

    Shocking! His father abandoned him, his mother dumped him on his grandparents, he couldn’t go by his real name because he would have been picked on. He smoked weed as a teen when he couldn’t afford coke, he gravitated to other hate filled people, he hates the very country that he grew up in, his brother lives in a hut while he eats $700/pound steak flown in from Japan and he thinks he‘s the messiah and gets short tempered when people don’t fawn him with easy questions. Why do we need a doctor to tell us he has huge personality flaws. Put him on tv with Dr Phil. We’ll get to the bottom of this in 53 minutes.

      His mother worked for the Ford Foundation,World Bank, Asian Development bank,Rakyat & CIA linked USAID while in Indonesia & later Pakistan. Grandfather was a “furniture salesman?”

    The cockroaches will scurry back into the dark after the election in November. But, they will still be there waiting to turn the lights off again so they can prosper. If the educational system does not change, there will be a majority who does want socialism and communism. Americans need to wake up to the problem in our government run educational systems. I heard things in college back in the mid 80′s that made me cringe. Just wrote what the Professor wanted to hear to pass the course. I am an engineer and they MADE me take those liberal courses. Why? Had nothing to do with my career path. I guess to see if they could round out my thinking to theirs.

      These people should not receive one cent of federal money for they are trying to overthrow this country. These people are taking money for courses that are used against this country and that students do not need. They laugh at us paying for our own destruction. With college costing as it does, no courses should have to be taken that is not required to make the person excel at what they are aiming for. It is a colossal rip off. This needs to stop 40 years ago.

    It is clear, and always has been to me, that Obama lacks empathy, brought about by his narcissistic tendencies and his gandiosity. There is no “there”, there…or like an old gossip in The Music Man sings, “there’s a lump as cold as steel where his heart should be” (I altered the gender references). Humility is a foreign concept to him. Most men (with few exceptiosn like Washington & Lincoln) who find themselves in the office of the Presidency, as the most powerful man in the world, must have an inflated view of what he is capable of, but in Obama’s case, he not only thinks of himself as infallible, he expects everyone ELSE to think it as well. He would be loathe to admit, that there are any people other than utter morons, who don’t understand his brilliance. He is ENTITLED to kudos, and yes, bows and worshipful adoration. Sick in the head and heart.

    He has humanity, but he sure doesn’t like it. He’s drug-controlled.

    The main thing they’re telling me in this UW Health psych ward is that I *need* seven to nine hours of sleep a night, while they pump me full of amphetemanes (I‘m used to ’em). And that what I need is to be taking codeine constantly, so I can get my sleep. Honor bright!

      Of course this guy has no emotions. He’s not even a real person. The guys been programmed and operated by the CIA for years. He is the Manchurian Candidate.

      Have you ever noticed that when he is talking about serious issues sometimes he is trying his hardest not to laugh? And when he is pretending to be stern he looks like he is about to go into a rage. The guy has no gauge on reality.

      Hell, even when the Rolling Stones and Beatles were performing for him it looked like he was pretending to have a good time.

      I dated a girl like this when I was a kid. The said she had borderline personality disorder. Usually people that undergo a traumatic situation like being molested, beaten, almost killed, or completely f-ing brainwashed show signs of this.
