Evidence from OBL Raid: Al Qaeda Considered Attacking U.S. Trains on 10th Anniversary of 9/11

WASHINGTON (AP/THE BLAZE) — Some of the first information gleaned from Osama bin Laden’s compound indicates al-Qaida considered attacking U.S. trains, but U.S. officials say they have no recent intelligence indicating such a plot is active.

A Homeland Security intelligence warning sent to law enforcement officials around the country says as that of February 2010, the terror organization was considering tampering with an unspecified U.S. rail track so that a train would fall off the track at a valley or a bridge. The warning was obtained by The Associated Press and marked for official use only.

This information appears to be the first widely circulated intelligence pulled from the May 1 raid on bin Laden’s secret compound. After killing bin Laden, Navy SEALs took computers, DVDs and documents from his house.

ABC News has more:

A new bulletin issued tonight by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security and obtained by ABC News describes the terror organization’s chilling desire to derail a train.

“As of February 2010, al-Qa’ida was allegedly contemplating conducting an operation against trains at an unspecified location in the United States on the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001,” the document reads, using an alternate spelling for bin Laden’s terror group. “As one option, al-Qa’ida was looking into trying to tip a train by tampering with the rails so that the train would fall off the track at either a valley or a bridge. “

According to former White House counterterrorism advisor and ABC News consultant Richard Clarke, the fact that such proposals were discovered in bin Laden’s possession shows how integral he still appeared to be to terror plots.

The evidence appears to confirm that Bin Laden still had a role in approving al Qaeda plots, just he did for the 9/11 terror attack.

    The real fear the intelligence community has is …What happened to the surface to air missiles that were in Libya …If this so called freedom fighters are part of Al qaeda ..Wow we got a bigger problem than trains..We have thousands of Pakistan ragheads driving semis all around this country.     Let‘s keep in mind that they don’t have to physically assault America to keep us on the defensive. We‘re spending so much money to counter their offensive that we’re going broke doing it.     Hey folks, this was an idea postulated yesterday on the intelligence found. One article talked about how they found all this computer intelligence. Another article a former intelligence official asked why the heck would they release that. Then a few of us started asking the same thing, why would you release that, they cannot be that dumb right?

    Or, it could be they wanted to throw everyone off of a scent. Where else would we get a bunch of information from?

    Ohhhhhh, here we go. They got intelligence that trains are going to be targeted. Better set up those radiation machines and molestation TSA agents at the train stations.

    Next, they will get intelligence on buses, ball games, malls, grocery stores, etc etc etc.

    I’m sure they have been planning on attacking us on every anniversary since 9/11. It’s just they have a better chance with obozo in the white house since his national sercurity is such a joke. How many times has al-qaeda or another terror group managed to attack us on U.S. soil? Sure they all failed but just to name a few we have: new years, chrismas, and that place in ohio.

      Osama had some sort of fetish with Hairy women and humis.

      The one thing they did find strange is he was kicked out of World of Warcraft for fracking Noobs, but couldn’t get past level 5.

      The most odd thing they found was he had a severe peanut allergy and asthma, complained about not scoring with a woman until after high school and he still suffered from Wedgieitis.

      The report doesn’t mention whether this Intel was known before the OBL raid or not. Didi they gather new info from docs seized during and after the raid? Did they gather new facts from the intel? Is any of this new or is this just a convenient time to release a story that ABC has been sitting on?

      For the record, the article does not say they were seeking to take out VP Biden; it does indicate that Al Quaeda was intending to go after trains and such on the anniversary of 9-11. I hope they have had the sense to strike at what cells they can before releasing the information of the plans to the public and sending the rabbits on the run.

      One thing about these Islamists. They may have trouble with the concept of personal hygene and male-female relationships, but they are in love with their laptops. They are like a buch of 13 year-olds with an IPod.       Maybe they thought because Biden speaks without a teleprompter, he was the intelligent one. Obama can’t say anything without help and sounds like a yammering fool without help. So, who is the president and who is the fool. I guess anyone would be confused.
