Ex-Boyfriend Pleads Not Guilty in Murder of Ballerina College Student

WSYR-TV:

Ex Boyfriend Pleads Not Guilty in Murder of Ballerina College Student21-year-old Steven Pieper has pleaded not guilty in Clay Town Court to charges of second degree murder, in connection with the death of 20-year-old Jenni-Lyn Watson.

The Liverpool man, and ex-boyfriend of Watson, was arraigned just after 7:30 Saturday evening in front of Clay Town Justice Brian Lauri. Pieper did not have anything to say, but did answer routine questions from the judge.

Judge Lauri also read the court document to Pieper, which says that he intentionally caused the death of Jenni-Lyn Watson by a manner that has yet to be determined. It goes on to say that Pieper removed Watson‘s body from the family’s home along Donegal Way in Clay and then transported and dumped her remains in the Clay Central Park.

Pieper, dressed in a track suit, showed no remorse during the court proceedings.

Investigators say the body of Jenni-Lyn was found around 10:30 Saturday morning in a heavily wooded area near the park, just 350 yards from Wetzel Road. They say her body was covered by grass and other vegetation and would not have been visible to passers-by. The remains have been transported to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s office and an autopsy will be performed Sunday to determine the cause of death.

Girls should learn self-defense training from elementary school-weapons training by high school wouldn’t hurt, either.

It would have surprised me, if he had told them darn right I did it, and I want to do it again. It really is sad that a young life ended especially in the holiday season. But as for him pleading not guilty. Real no surprise there at all. But what I hear he has had a lot of problems growing up. Which I find as no excuse. My dad abused my butt every time I did something he thought was wrong. I think i turned out all right. But of course that up to individual interpretation.

Our prayers are with this young ladies family. What was this young man thinking? Young people take a good look at this tragedy. Here are 2 lifes that will forever be changed. Do not think you can get by with it. Seek help if you have immoral thoughts, such as these.

Look at those eyes.,….of the “boyfriend” and tell me you don’t see the SAME HATE that the guy from Portland had for those poor souls @ the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony……holy cow. There is NO SOUL in there……..killers have a demonic look about them, dontcha think????

Pray for her family and for her recently-departed soul from this Earth…….how tragic and how very, very sad for everyone involved – including HIS family, assuming they are not as soul-less as he appears to be. May God rest her soul!

Much sympathy for the girl’s family. Every time my 20someting daughter goes out for a run I pace & pray till she reports in safe & sound. She recently told me she was raped when she was 17. Cut my heart out. SHE WAS TOO ASHAMED TO TELL ME. One of my nieces was raped when she was out jogging in a “safe neighborhood” by a repeat offender. Both of mine came back alive. I can’t imagine the pain of the family. May the guilty find just punishment.

If this man murdered this girl, at least the parents will have the faint comfort of knowing their daughter’s murderer will not go unpunished. I speak from personal experience. It is fortunate that the girl’s body was found. Not knowing what happened would be as bad as knowing the terrible murder that occurred. I hate the knowledge of the pain a trial will cause them, but hopefully the outcome will put the murdered away for the rest of his life or even to death if the state actually has and uses the death penalty. There are several things I learned from the personal experience of our son’s murder. First, the family has to do everything they can to protect their family from unwanted media and to keep their family intact. Divorce is high in families of murdered children. Second, don’t be afraid to rely on others for support. Third, and very important, turn TO God, not AWAY from Him. He will be their strength if they ask Him to help them through this tragic occurence.

    An interesting formula …
High Standard of Living – (Moral Compas + Genetic Predisposition Toward Aggressive Behavior + Public Education) = Murder + AP Story + Blog Entry on The Blaze

How very tragic! I‘m sure if he’s found guilty the state will put him through law school and fix all of his teeth.

The rule of law applies to everyone. Try him, and if he’s found guilty… execute him.

While visiting with family this Thanksgiving, my niece, herself a junior at Mercyhurst College, was telling us how terribly concerned she and her classmates were. A horror such as this must remind us all to cherish (and do all in our power to protect) the young ladies in our own families. And for the Watsons, all we can do now is offer up prayers for the Lord to give comfort and strength to this heartbroken family. May Miss Watson rest in the peace of Christ, Amen.
