Haris Tarin, the Director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council in Washington DC, cautioned about the potential “consequence” of what people say in public when asked whether the Sikh shooting on Sunday had any relation to Michelle Bachmann’s inquiry into the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood within the U.S. government.
Soon after the shooting, unsubstantiated comments began circulating on Twitter attempting to tie the bloody Sunday rampage at the Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, to those raising questions about the Muslim Brotherhood. It should be noted that Islam and Sikhism share little common ground when if comes to political philosophy or religious history.
Tarin was cautious in noting that we cannot make a direct link right now between the shooter and the Bachmann inquiry, which his organization is labeling as a ‘witch hunt‘, but did note that Americans should be more “reflective” on what they say:
“What we can say is that as a nation is that we have to be more reflective on how we speak on issues. [...] We have to be responsible. We have this great first amendment and we have the right to say what we want and whenever we want and that’s what makes America great. But at the same time we have to understand that there is consequence and responsibility that comes with what we say.”
Tarin went on to say now is not the time for judgement.
Bachmann (R-MN) came under fire after joining four other GOP representatives in sending a letter requesting information from the Obama Administration concerning possible links between the Muslim Brotherhood, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the U.S. intelligence community and the U.S. Departments of State and Justice. Other conservatives have defended Bachmann, saying that the inquiry raises legitimate questions without being insulting or disparaging to any individual or group.
The Brotherhood is considered one of most influential Islamist movements in the world; the new president of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi, is a member. Bachmann and four other Republican lawmakers recently wrote the inspectors general of five federal departments asking them to compile a report on its influence in the United States.
TheBlaze interview took place outside the RNC headquarters on Capitol Hill where Tarin’s group had planned to convene a press conference calling on presidential candidate Mitt Romney to denounce Bachmann for her comments. The press conference was rescheduled due to rain.

WHICH FOR THE STUPID, MEANS THAT WE ARE GOING TO LOSE OVER 5 TRILLION DOLLARS ON THIS TRADE IN THE NEXT 20 YEARS… JUST TO CREATE SHORT TERM CAPITAL WHICH HAS BEEN SPENT… AND AFTER ALL THIS MONEY CREATION AND HANDING BANKS CASH… YOU THINK YOU SHOULD MEASURE THE DOW HERE AND SAY “ALLS GOOD, AND OBAMA DID IT” shows your incompetance…. LET ME GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE… WHEN OBAMA TOOK OFFICE UNEMPLOYMENT WAS AROUND 8%… and due to his policies THAT GOT TO ABOUT 10% and THE REAL UNEMPLOYMENT IS CURRENTLY AT 15.5% and underemployment in urban communities among blacks is 40%… obama has made off of these either worse… or gotten worse and then only back to where they began from where obama inhereted his situation from bush… so why do you only measure bush from the PEAK TO THE TROTH, a liberal tact

Read about the number of times a woman in America has an abortion because she found out the baby was a boy and she and her husband wanted a girl. Read how the American left says there’s a war on women coming from the American right.
The whole world saw the American right vote against a bill on behalf of women who are discriminated against in the workforce on wage disparity.
How married women in America are forced to help pay household expenses if they work outside the home. Muslim women should be forced to do that too.
Muslim women should not be forced to depend on their husband to be the bread winner of the family while they stay at home and look after the children. And if the woman works outside the home, her husband should expect her to pay for something. Not the way it’s done now, where the man pays for all the expenses and medicine as well. Yeah, you’re right, Muslim women are slaves.

Funny how you tie abortion to Christians, the only group left on earth who hates abortion, believes it is murder, and choose life. As well we choose not to pay for murder of the innocent. You see God will rain down judgement and hell upon all those who have so corrupted themselves. God will show no mercy to liars, murderers, thieves, and no not even to the gays. How ironic that you force God to rain hell down upon the land while blaming both Him and His children. Those who love and revere, yes even those who obey and follow him He will protect.

You need to read the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act before you say I haven’t done my homework. It seems to me you haven’t done yours. This was Barack Obama’s first piece of legislation he signed into law when he became president. The Republicans voted against it in the US Senate 100%.
Abortion in Context: United States and Worldwide
Given American women’s relatively high rates of unplanned pregnancy, it should not be surprising that their abortion rate—23 per 1,000 women of reproductive age—is undeniably high by the standards of developed nations. (It is, however, considerably lower than rates in developing countries.)
Some abortion opponents allege that the U.S. abortion rate is due to the extreme “permissiveness” of the nation’s abortion policy. (As the result of the Supreme Court’s 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, the right to choose abortion is constitutionally protected until fetal viability, after which states may prohibit abortion except when it is necessary to save a woman’s life or protect her health.)
Not one State in America outlaws abortion!

Posted on August 6, 2012 at 7:01pm@ BARBER2- You see, again you’re wrong.
The Department of Justice became aware of the incident on Election Day and started an inquiry. Under the Bush administration, a criminal investigation into the incident was started, but later dropped. Instead, in January 2009, less than two weeks before the Bush administration left office, the civil rights division of the Department of Justice filed a civil suit under the voting rights act against four defendants, namely, Minister King Samir Shabazz, Jerry Jackson, NBPP chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz, and the NBPP itself. The lawsuit accused them of using uniforms, racial insults and a weapon to intimidate voters and those who were there to assist them. The case remained open when the Obama administration took office a few weeks later.
In his testimony before the Civil Rights Commission, Thomas Perez gave the following justifications for the Department of Justice’s decision to narrow the case.
The New Black Panther Party stated that they would deploy 300 poll watchers across the United States. If the NBPP had conspired to intimidate voters nationwide, the Justice department would have heard of other incidents. However no other incidents involving the New Black Panther Party were reported. NBPP and Mr. Zulu Shabazz disavowed what happened in Philadelphia and suspended the city’s chapter after the incident.
(continued on next page)
Report Post »SurhanSurhan
Posted on August 6, 2012 at 7:11pm@ BARBER2- The charges against Mr. Jackson were dropped because the police officer who responded to the incident ordered Mr. Samir Shabazz to leave but allowed Mr. Jackson to stay.
The officer interviewed Samir Shabazz, Jerry Jackson and a number of other people at the scene. The officer concluded that Jerry Jackson was indeed a certified poll watcher and decided that he was entitled to remain. The local authorities took no further action against Mr. Jackson as they concluded that his activities did not rise to the level of intimidation.
The injunction against Mr. Samir Shabazz needed to be narrowly tailored to address the underlying offense. Since the incident took place in the City of Philadelphia, the injunction was only applied to the City of Philadelphia.
These are the facts.
Here’s a quote from you: “protecting the rights of GITMO prisoners ”

A bunch of ignorant people take to their twitter to turn this into a anti-muslim hate crime because a Congresswoman was actually doing her job. I say ignorant because they apparently couldn’t grasp that Sikhs are not Muslim, nor are they radicalists. ( I have to list those seperate because apparently there seems to be some confusion from our President that the American people can’t tell the difference.) So the press goes to the MUSLIM Public Affairs Office to ask questions? (There’s nothing like perpetuating ignorance.) Then, not ones to miss the opportunity, instead of correcting the situation, turn this into a polarizing/political correctness/free speech gordian knot. (Sigh)
I wasn’t surprized McCain threw her under the bus, when Boehner did it (even all the while admitting he hadn’t read the letter from Bachmann & Co), I was convinced he needed to go. Brown is lucky that Warren is such a worse alternative otherwise his condemnation of Michelle Bachmann would have cost him big in support. However, this is Romney’s chance to be a leader or at least a chance keep himself free of the game being played here. But if he starts out now by throwing loyal, concerned Republicans under the bus then the light at the end of this tunnel is farther away than we hoped.
