Expert: ‘Government Shutdown Could Last Hours, Most Would Not Notice’

There are just eight days remaining until the looming Government Shutdown being predicted by MSNBC and the Democrats.  Andrea Mitchell announced that we are just 8 days away from this cataclysmic event.  One might even speculate that the cable network will place a “Countdown to Shutdown” clock in the corner of the screen.  The pressure has been building for weeks, with every single host on MSNBC predicting the GOP will shutdown the government if they do not get their way on spending cuts.   A short time ago we learned from a frequent MSNBC guest, Charlie Cook, just how terrible this shutdown might be:

“Most Americans would never even know it if there was a 2 or 6, or one day shutdown.”

Bloomberg News is reporting that Speaker Boehner is working on a two-week extension that would keep all government offices operating into mid-March, but the Democrats in the Senate roundly rejected that proposal. Through his spokesperson, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Beohner’s proposal a “non-starter.”

If anyone remembers the Watergate era, they must also remember the “smoking gun” tape. As a buildup to the charges, the media went on a feeding frenzie accusing Nixon of all kinds of crimes. Ultimately, he called his staff together and demanded to know exactly what went on. When they told him his initial reaction was to curse and yell, but he followed that with the fatal words “it will blow over”. Ultimately, that is the crime he committed. It is called obstruction of justice because he was aware of a federal crime having been commited yet did not report it.

As I recall, the first week Obama was in office, a tape was released where Rahm Emmanuel was negotiating with Blogo for rights to fill Obama’s senate seat. When that hit the news, Obama bragged about refusing to pay Blago anything for the seat as he would not take part in something so illegal. Fact is, that he didn’t report it either. That is the exact same crime Nixon was forced to resign over.

I guess that what really matters is who you are, not what you did that counts in the eyes of the media.

Why do we always allow the democ-rats to control the perspective?

The budget battle has been being reported as the “republicans are willing to shut down the government”.. The republican response has been an acceptance of this perspective rather than a repudiation of it.

The Constitution makes Congress responsible for the budget, not the President. As I understand it, the congressional budget can easily pass the house. If the President and 4 democrat senators would work in a bi-partisan way and support the legitimate congressional budget, there would be no government shut down. So isn’t it the democrats refusal to be bi-partisan that is threatening to shut down the government? Why do we allow them to keep saying it is the republicans?

I’ve been disgusted for only… what, decades now with Conservatives inability to refute Liberal social programs and how they have failed to raise the living standards for the poor. I believe (seriously believe) that Progressives knew back in the 50′s that those social entitlements would do to our budget what in fact they have actually done. This was in the works long ago. The Pro’s knew it would take time, and when the time was right, and the right person came along, that they would kick things into gear. Well, the time is right, and the right person came along!

Impeachable offenses defined: Bribery, perjury, and treason are among the least ambiguous reasons meriting impeachment, but the ocean of wrongdoing encompassed by the Constitution’s stipulation of high crimes and misdemeanors’ is vast. Abuse of power and serious misconduct in office fit this category. It is also defined as “whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history”

Shut it down! We The People know whose fault it is and we welcome the shutdown. When the Dems come around to our way of thinking, you know where we say “we won, get over it”, We can cut spending and stop Obama‘s marxist agenda in it’s tracks. Until then, shut it down.

It seems that “The Blaze” site is under attack. I keep getting error messages from the site. If the Federal Government shuts down, it’s the fault of the Democrats. They just refuse to stop their out-of-control spending. Caroline on O’Reilly has no concept that Corporations have no duty to give all their money to their laborers. The Corporation wouldn‘t exist if there wasn’t any investors who expected a return on their investment. The laborers don‘t seem to understand that they wouldn’t have job if the investors didn’t start a Company.

Yeah, I keep getting that too. And they think we won’t notice. The problem is that they think were all stupid. That we don’t need to know what is going on. They want to keep us ignorant. People can call me a conspiracy theorist, I don’t care, maybe I am.
