Explicit Language Warning: Longshore Union Member Attacks Media: ‘Get Your F–ing Camera Out of Here’

A member of the Pacific Northwest longshoreman’s union — the union recently embroiled in violent protests across Washington State where windows were smashed, containers of grain were dumped and guards were held hostage — verbally attacked and threatened a media crew Friday.
The news correspondent and his cameraman turned up at the union’s local headquarters in Longview, Washington to ask about the situation regarding the protests. The reception was more than chilly to say the least.
“I’m from KGW and I wanted to know if there was anyone here who would want to talk to us about the situation,” a Portland news correspondent asked while knocking on the door.
The response from a union member inside the building went something like this:
“Actually, if you go down to Miller Avenue, and talk to them dumbasses down there at EGT, they’ll tell you how they’re fucking the Longshoremen around here.”
“That’s what you can do, so go back to Portland. Bye!”
But the fireworks, and, expletives didn’t end there. In fact, the situation only intensified as the combative longshoreman stormed outside to confront the news crew, yelling “Hey, get your f*cking camera out of here, that’s none of your f*cking business, you c*ck bite.”
Then the longshoreman, while grabbing the reporter’s camera concluded, “Unless you want [to be arrested for] trespassing, get the f*ck out of here now. Get out of here now! Don’t f*ck with me partner!”
A member of the crew sarcastically asked the longshoreman, “You’re not on the PR staff, are you?”
But the union worker didn’t relent, “You don’t f*cking worry about who I’m with. Get the f*ck out of here, that’s none of your f*cking business, c*cksucker. Unless you want trespassing, get out of here.”
A reporter commented, “We just wanted to hear your side of the story.”
Which prompted the longshoreman to grab the camera and threaten, “You, f*cker, you like your f*cking glasses? Don’t f*cking threaten me you son of a b*tch!”
The news crew remained calm and composed through the entire ordeal.
While clearly not an official spokesman for the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU), this particular longshoreman’s outburst might be indicative of the same widespread sentiment among ILWU members.

Below is a report providing some background into why the longshoremen are up in arms:
TACOMA, Wash. (The Blaze/AP) — Union activists aren’t backing off demands to work at a new Washington state grain terminal after hundreds of Longshore workers stormed the facility, overwhelmed guards and dumped grain.
U.S. District Judge Ronald Leighton issued a preliminary injunction to restrict union activity, saying there was no defense for the aggressive tactics used in recent days.
Workers have been battling for the right to work at the new terminal in Longview. Protesters twice blocked the pathway of a train carrying grain to the terminal at the Port of Longview on Wednesday, and on Thursday hundreds of carried out the aggressive raid, police said.
The dispute halted work at four other Washington ports, including Seattle, on Thursday as hundreds of longshoremen refused to show up or walked off the job.
The Port of Longview was quiet Friday and Longshore workers were back on the job in Seattle.
Scott Mason, president of the ILWU Local 23 in Tacoma, said some of his members have joined in the Longview effort, but he doesn’t believe they were involved in illegal activity. He blamed the company for provoking the response and warned that more activity could be coming.
“How long this fight has to go on is really in their court,” he said.
Leighton said he felt like a paper tiger because the International Longshore and Warehouse Union clearly ignored a temporary restraining order he issued last week with similar limits. He scheduled a hearing for next Thursday to determine whether the union should be held in civil contempt.
“The regard for the law is absent here,” the judge said. “Somebody is going to be hurt seriously.”
Six guards were trapped for a couple of hours after at least 500 Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. Thursday and smashed windows in the guard shack, Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha said. He initially referred to the guards as “hostages,” but later retracted that after the guards clarified no one had threatened them.
“The guards absolutely could not get out,” Duscha said. “They feared for their lives because of the size of the crowd and the hostility of the crowd.”
No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested – although Duscha said that could change if police are able to use surveillance video or other means to identify the protesters.
Most of the protesters returned to their union hall after cutting train brake lines and spilling grain from a car at the EGT terminal, Duscha said. They also pushed a private security vehicle into a ditch.
The union believes it has the right to work at the facility, but the company has hired a contractor that’s staffing a workforce of laborers from another union, the Portland-based Operating Engineers Local 701. Representatives of the engineers union did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
In Seattle, Tacoma, Everett and Anacortes, hundreds of Longshore workers failed to show up or walked off the job Thursday in apparent solidarity with the Longview activists, halting work at those ports. Union leaders said they had not called for any such actions.
“It appears the members have taken action on their own,” said ILWU spokesman Craig Merrilees from
union headquarters in San Francisco.
He said some workers might have been motivated by a photograph of ILWU President Bob McElrath in police custody in Longview on Wednesday.
McElrath was not arrested, but an Associated Press photo showed him being grabbed by several police officers before union activists intervened and grabbed him back.
Police arrested 19 protesters as they blocked railroad tracks on Wednesday night, allowing the train to finally arrive at the terminal.
The protesters in Longview have portrayed themselves as being on the front line in the struggle for jobs and benefits among American workers in an economic downturn. But while union strife has flared up around the country – most notably in Wisconsin – the aggressive tactics seen in Longview have been a rarity in recent labor disputes.
Labor activists insist that after receiving tax breaks and promising to create well-paying jobs at the new $200 million terminal, EGT initially tried to staff the terminal with nonunion workers. Following a series of protests by the Longshore workers this year, the company announced it would hire a contractor staffed by workers from a different union.
“Today, the ILWU took its criminal activity against EGT to an appalling level, including engaging in assault and significant property destruction,” the company’s chief executive, Larry Clarke, said in a written statement. “This type of violent attack at the export terminal has been condemned by a federal court, and we fully support prosecution of this criminal behavior to the fullest extent under the law.”

I just found out thru seattle times, that to prevent anymore union violence US Marshals will be going in, if they start up again.
The judge is allowing the picketing, but violence won’t be tolerated.
Cops are now saying they might make arrests over the violence and kidnapping the guards, but they have to watch the videos first to find out who did it.

First they got control of who got the contracts, and took money from the successful bidders. Then they sold concrete to the contractors only they cut the amount of vital ingredients from the mix, and charged the stooge contractor full price.
Russian mafia, took over gas stations, sold gas at regular prices and collected the federal and state taxes but they delayed in sending the taxes to the government. That’s it, they just delayed. The weak Democratic gov’t officials sent letters and made visits, but the check never came. After year of “delay,” the gas station shut down and the mob vanished with the dough.
If you are a criminal, you can figure out a million scams. You don’t need to hold a gun at the head of the victim. If you are a union, convince some ignorant working slob that you are going to provide “protection” for him from his boss, protection he cannot get anywhere else and if the mark gives you money, you get his boss to pay higher wages.

They are the cheapest people in the world. Is it really gonna take that long, can’t you do it any cheaper, or here’s the best one. The job is not that hard, i can’t believe you want so much to do it. I worked the Port of Seattle for 15 years, as a union guard.
The guards have to be union per contract with the ports.
and only 2 guard companies were union, thus we get the contracts.
We had most of the port ourselves.
BTW Port Police (a bonafied legal law enforcement agency) are Teamsters.

During more than 30 years of jobs that were covered by closed-shop union contracts (4 different unions, including Teamsters and AFL-CIO), the only benefit I received was lost time due to a strike (for unreasonable wage increases and insane work rules), 2-1/2 years lost time due to layoff after a strike where the wage settlement caused the employer to reduce the workforce to stay in the black. (Worked for a NON-union employer while on layoff… better take home without union dues deduction). Although I received a couple of “5 yrs perfect attendance” awards, I also had a few occasions where I was truly too sick to work— never experienced job loss. However, had an employer terminated me for calling in sick, I wouldn’t have desired to work for them anyway, thus I would have found another job. In every job I worked in a union shop the union managed to see to it that employees that were justifiably disciplined or terminated for sitting on their ass, theft, or incompetence were re-instated. The union saw to it that everyone got the same wage at the same seniority, whether they knew what they doing or slept through their shift. UNIONS— a great equalizer. They make everyone equal to the poorest employee on the premises. And, you get to pay them dues for the privelege of providing their equalization services!
