Exposed: White House Press E-mails Reveal Anti-Fox News Bias

Exposed: White House Press E mails Reveal Anti Fox News Bias

It probably comes as no surprise that the Obama Administration isn’t a fan of Fox News Channel, but how deep must the animus go to flat-out deny the network access to interviews with key White House officials? Especially when other networks like CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC, are given free reign.

While many conservatives have always suspected a White House bias towards Fox, now there’s written proof.

Yes, White House emails obtained by the group Judicial Watch —  a conservative non-partisan organization whose stated mission is to seek government accountability – contain some rather damning evidence of White House official’s disdain for Fox News. The emails reportedly date back to 2009, during a time when the White House was in a battle with Fox News Channel.  The issue was whether the administration had excluded Fox News from interviews with its top officials, most notably Obama’s “pay czar.”

Exposed: White House Press E mails Reveal Anti Fox News Bias

NewsBusters reports:

Regarding general anti-FNC bias within the Obama White House in an October 23, 2009, email exchange between Jennifer Psaki, Deputy White House Communications Director and [Treasury Department press aide] Jenni LeCompte, Psaki writes, “I am putting some dead fish in the fox cubby – just cause”. In an email on the night of October 22, 2009, commenting on a report by Fox News Channel anchor Bret Baier noting the exclusion of the network from the [press] pool, Psaki writes to LeCompte and fellow White House colleagues, “…brett baier [sic] just did a stupid piece on it — but he is a lunatic”.

Later on in the email thread Psaki reportedly botches Bret Baier’s name yet again, replacing it with “Brett Baer.”

Which begs the questions: shouldn’t a WH Communications Director know how to spell; and does Psaki even know who Bret Baier is?  It seems not, otherwise she might have a). spelled his name correctly, and b). known that the relatively unoffending Special Report host could hardly be described, perhaps even by critics, as a ”lunatic.”

Exposed: White House Press E mails Reveal Anti Fox News Bias

In yet another email around the same time, Dag Vega, Director of Broadcast Media at the White House, informed LeCompte “…we’d prefer if you skip Fox please.”

And perhaps most damning of all, Deputy White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest reportedly laid out the White House position on Fox News in a 2009 email to LeCompte in which he said, “We’ve demonstrated our willingness and ability to exclude Fox News from significant interviews.”

Exposed: White House Press E mails Reveal Anti Fox News Bias

But how did all these emails come to light? Apparently Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act after a controversy over whether Fox’s Major Garrett was denied an interview with Kenneth Feinberg, the Obama Administrations “pay czar.”  So egregious was the denial in fact, that even left-leaning NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN reportedly stood with Fox, refusing an interview with Feinberg if the administration continued its antics.

So there you have it. Is this all taken out of context or are these emails consistent with how the current administration has conducted itself with the media to now?

The MSM should be denied thier FCC licenses for not upholding thier constitutional responsibility to be watch dogs not lap dogs. Without a trusted media we loose an important aspect of our freedom.
we certainly cannot trust the current media – they are a joke

They don’t have a constitutional responsibility. “Freedom of the press” is only a protection for them. Yes, they have a moral responsibility but all that went out the window when CNN and 24/7 news became a money maker for their owners. It is shameful though and very, very wrong!

MSM socialist propaganda machines are, today, educated and directed by the indoctrination centers we still refer to as “universities” where “professors:” are, nearly to a man, socialist proponents and American detractors.

It is not a conspiracy to over throw the U.S. government, it is an out in the open attack on the field, they have created over the years, of intellectualism. You can’t deny it. They have inverted the purpose of formal classroom education as described by the communist manifesto, to indoctrination.

In all honesty, it’s really called brain washing. But some people don’t believe that can be done. They are useful idiots who don’t even know they are already toadies for the elitist ranks of a socialist/communist paradigm. It’s all about how you “feel” today; not about facts or truth. Becuse “truth” has also been compromised as relative.

I think they know very well they are. The useful idiots are actually the one’s who watch their newscasts and walk away with propaganda, thinking they’ve been informed.

I’ve always felt that the unlevel playing field presented by the MSM will be the primary cause of the next civil war. The left wants very badly for FOX NEWS to not exist. It absolutely galls them that they’re there. Same with Rush and Sean, Beck, etc. But I submit that the existence of those entities have, to this point, staved off a civil war.

Frankly, I‘d rather hear a Fox analysis and commentary of what was said than listen to a ’talking points’ playbook of political spew! What Fox puts on is more informed, more balanced (although I get tired listening to some of the libs way out on the see-saw of logic–they really s-t-r-e-t-c-h it sometimes), and useful presentation of the ‘news’ than those that get ‘live’ privileges! If the White House wants to marginalize itself, so be it! They are just hurting themselves with informed voters! Fox just needs to make a note of when they were DENIED live or pool coverage with the OTHER ‘news’ organizations! We get it!

Broadcast stations that use public airwaves DO, IN FACT, have a LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY!!!

They must RENEW their license every few years.

When it is time to renew, there is a log book, open to the public, at their offices, which is available for public comment. Additionally, you can contact the FCC yourself, and file a legal complaint. These are PUBLIC airwaves, and, in exchange for the privelege of using those frequencies, they have certain legal obligations. The REASON they were allowed to commercialize the frequencies, was to be available to provide emergency alerts. This is why you see/hear the Test of the Emergency Alert System.

      WRITE TO THE FCC.
      HIRE AN ATTORNEY.
      YOU CAN FIGHT THEM!

Both Beckel and Colmbs remind me of a sophomore that has just learned the mechanics of debate and will take the illogical side of ANY argument, just to get time at the podium! Frankly, I have a problem with Juan Williams, too, but I’ll cut him some slack for wrestling with the illogic of his beliefs-he is really fighting to not become the conservative he knows he is! It’s okay, Juan, someone who has seen and lived and advocated for ‘the other side’ becomes even more effective, when he sorts through the misperceptions! People are resiliant, creative, alive! Government is rigid, boorish and dead! All you need is a level playing field (but not level players) and everyone will rise to their potential! The referee‘s shouldn’t be playing the game, they should be refereeing! Government shouldn’t be in business–it should be the governor (in a machine regulating sense) and handle the ‘bull in the china shop’, allowing all who wish, access to ‘The American Dream’ (which is NOT a house, but a BUSINESS, EARNINGS, the ABILITY TO earn and save and invest and have some control over their lives–it is CHOICE, freedom to choose and responsibility to live with the consequences)! And, Geraldo, well Geraldo is Geraldo! Nothing personal, seriously, I’m sure they are all good people, but they surely have some kooky ideas about the World! And, those kooky ideas can hurt us!

I’ve stopped watching and now mainly stick to my trusty am radio for my info. The last time I did see them they were reporting on square dancing grannies and some sort of trial over a very old possible murder or something. I tuned out in order to get tuned back in.

What is good about their disdain is that it confirms the suspicions of those who already know that BHO and company are a group of Chicago thugs and uber liberals who would rather see informed Americans “retrained” as stated in the Weather Underground’s “Manifesto…”

The President and his staff are all very well educated, but not very smart, children, pretending to do jobs that, for the sake of America, would be better left to grown ups.

As for Judicial Watch they describe them self as “a conservative, non-partisan American educational foundation that promotes transparency, accountability and integrity in government, politics and the law.” According to its mission statement, Judicial Watch “advocates high standards of ethics and morality in America’s public life and seeks to ensure that political and judicial officials do not abuse the powers entrusted to them by the American people.” Shouldn’t they be going after anyone who does something shady? It’s not like the Republicans are in any position to point a finger at anyone. And if they do it should be at themself first.

Here’s more Fox facts for you. I’m sorry none of them have pictures maybe your liberal can read them for you. Enjoy

Scott Norvell, the London bureau chief for Fox News. He stated in a May 20, 2005 interview with the Wall Street Journal that “Even we at Fox News manage to get some lefties on the air occasionally, and often let them finish their sentences before we club them to death and feed the scraps to Karl Rove and Bill O’Reilly”.

Fox News Washington managing editor Bill Sammon boasted that he repeatedly lied during the final days of the 2008 presidential campaign when he speculated on-air “about whether Barack Obama really advocated socialism.” Sammon has repeatedly used his position at Fox to slant the network’s news coverage to the right.

Speaking in 2009 onboard a pricey Mediterranean cruise sponsored by a right-wing college, Fox Washington managing editor Bill Sammon described his attempts the previous year to link Obama to “socialism” as “mischievous speculation.” Sammon, who is also a Fox News vice president, acknowledged that “privately” he had believed that the socialism allegation was “rather far-fetch”At the height of the health care reform debate in 2009, Sammon sent a memo to Fox News’ journalists directing them not to use the phrase “public option,“ but instead ”government option” and similar phrases. Sammon’s directive echoed advice from top Republican pollster Frank Luntz on ho

I’m sure the St. Petersburg Times(the company who owns Politifact) won those 8 Pulitzer Prizes for lying.

“Sane Blazer buds” You mean those armchair crybaby wannabe politicians and preachers? Who know nothing of politics, history or the bible. And who are all around nutbags who continue to believe a lie even after substantial evidence is supplied to support the contrary.

They fear Fox b/c its the only network telling both sides of a story. Are they always on the up and up?No, but you can at least see a healthy debate unlike the state controlled media. The other reason Foxi s feared is b/c they ask tough questions. Questions the fringe media refuses to ask, they arent concerned about the Emperors most memorable moment or some other softball question while Rome burns.

Can you imagine how bad things would really be if Fox was out of the picture!? Why do you think Media Matters is in full gear attacking them, its b/c Fox is a threat to the progressive movement. The radicals are so close to their dream but Fox, Beck and others are standing in the way. If Fox was gone I see information coming out like it was in 1984 one lie after another. Oh wait his highness is doing that anyway!

Is this really a surprise? Whenever I attempt to debate issues with my Progressive, Democratic, and Liberal coworkers they tend to walk away siting me as a lunatic and racist just because they are unwilling to hear anything other than what Congress and Obama. It’s sad and frustrating. Furthermore, to read this of the White House… it absolutely no shock!

“We’ve demonstrated your willingness and ability to exclude Fox News from significant interviews.”
Wow, that is mature. You are a bunch of punk kids playing boss. If you’d care to take a look at the ratings for the most trusted and watched news reports, guess where you’ll find them? Yeah, Fox. But it doesn’t matter that you exclude Fox. They know you are lying anyway and so do most Americans, and I don’t think they will carry the water for your team. The bias and outright incompetence of this administration is so obvious that all Fox needs to do is just report it without actually talking to you. At least that way they don’t have to be lied to.
