Facebook Founder and New Bride Spotted in…Chinese Police Documentary?

BEIJING (The Blaze/AP) — Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his new bride, Priscilla Cha, seemed ready for their “your-on-candid-camera” moment. Social media sites and blogs have lit up after eagle-eyed viewers spotted a surprise cameo by the couple in a Chinese TV documentary about the country’s police force.

The documentary by CCTV was part of a series on Chinese police and high-tech crime-solving methods. A few seconds of footage showing Zuckerberg and Chan walking behind two police officers were included in a brief clip posted online by the Hebei province satellite station.

The footage shows the couple wearing the same clothes they were photographed in during a March 27 visit to Shanghai. Zuckerberg wears his custom hooded sweat shirt, this time in brown, and blue jeans, while Chan wears a printed short dress.

Watch this footage of the clip posted on YouTube (Note: Zuckerberg will appear in a red circle in the background):

The clip shows Zuckerberg looking at the back of the police officers and smiling broadly as the couple walks off-screen. As they are shown, the narrator says: “There is a serious shortage in China’s police manpower.”

The blog China Smack, which appears to be the first noting the appearance of the couple, reports one of the subtitles reads “Many problems impelled the Chinese police to find way to increase efficiency.”

It was not immediately known whether CCTV producers knowingly inserted Zuckerberg into the documentary or if the Facebook entrepreneur and his wife were actually just walking by. Facebook is blocked in China, along with Twitter, YouTube and other foreign social media, a reflection of the leadership’s fear that its power could be threatened by allowing citizens to organize outside of Communist Party control and enjoy unfettered access to information.

Zuckerberg has visited China to vacation and to meet with high-tech entrepreneurs, including a 2010 lunch with Robin Li, CEO of leading Chinese search engine Baidu. He married the 27-year-old Chan on May 20 in a private ceremony at their home, during the same week that he turned 28 and stock for the social network site began trading publicly.

A spokesman for Facebook, based in California, declined to comment Monday on the video clip.

Here is a more complete clip of the documentary, featuring Zuckerberg at 0:30:

I say good luck to the kid.
He is creating jobs and having a significant world impact.
What has he done to get people upset?
    A little jealousy perhaps?

Nice promotion for commie cops. Mark and his custodian/wife look happy. What red-blooded, 28 year old, billionaire wouldn’t jump at the chance to marry a beauty like priscilla?

Read the article in USA Today. The Chinese have been putting formeldahyde on lettuce.

Because they have that hara-kiri mentality, brought on by the Zen Buddhist philosophy, which seeks death.

      Dude…PLEASE educate yourself.

Hari Kari is Japanese, not Chinese. To even suggest something like that would shock and outrage a Chinese person. There’s a lot of hate between the two cultures.

Zen Bhudism is also Japanese, not Chinese. It’s a very different form of the same religion. Kind of like the difference between Catholics and Lutherans.

Because of the “police crisis” in China.. Do you think that Mark might be taking his “social network” ..to the next level..?

    Into the SUPER…Big brother realm…!

After all .. “Big Brother” does flourish best ..Under “Communist Rule”

Maybe work out the bugs there.. and who knows…?

    Then maybe …THE WORLD…!

I do care. How can you not care. Why narow your interests. What you said was just a hysterical mindless yelp. A sign of personality disintegration.

I hate to be “that guy,” but it should be “you’re-on-candid-camera,” not “your-on-candid-camera.”

I thought the same thing. Perhaps the author is a little hung-over after too much celebrating yesterday? :-)
