‘Facetime Facelift’: Cosmetic Surgeon Makes People Look More Attractive on Video Chat

With technology such as Skype, Apple’s FaceTime, Facebook’s video calling and even G-chat with a video option, people may be becoming more and more self-conscious about how they look while staring into their computers’ 3mm in diameter built-in camera.

Some are so interested in improving their looks for video chat that they’ve turned to plastic surgery. In the following videos Dr. Robert Sigal, a plastic surgeon at the Austin Westin Center for Cosmetic Surgery Reston, Virginia, describes the needs of patients seeking to alter their physical appearance to look better on computer cameras:

    Ridiculous…If you want to see something beautiful look at Jesus..if you wanna see something ugly look in the mirror..Humans will always be ugly when they walk in sin…Sin makes you ugly..

    Fabulous doctor and practice! How do I know? He’s my surgeon! They are an innovative group that never pushes procedure on patients. The phrase ‘facetime facelift’ is a coined term, i.e. people noticed the neck issue because of seeing themselves on facetime. If you’ll note in the video, Dr. Sigal speaks of putting off a procedure as long as possible, using conservative methods whenever possible, and of developing a technique in which scars can be hidden from sight. Thank you The Blaze, for reporting this story without the nasty comments I’m seeing on more liberal sites, like, oh, The Huffington Post.

      No. I’m one of those women who, as she ages, would like to look the best I can and am lucky enough to live in a country where I can feel free to take advantage of whatever technology has to offer. Clearly you are misunderstanding what Dr. Sigal is saying. He’s saying that people are noticing problem areas due to the technology and some are opting to do something about it. That’s called choice. Why so judgy?

      Here’s a thought, why don’t people just go buy a more expensive, higher quality camera, instead of having their face rearranged?….or maybe just get online friends who aren’t shallow enough to judge you, based on how you look online?……crazy concepts, I admit…….
