‘Fair Shake’: Axelrod Says GOP Doesn’t Understand Wall St. Protests

Axelrod Says GOP Doesnt Understand Wall St. Protests, Bashes Romney as Flip Flopper

(The Blaze/AP) — David Axelrod. a senior political adviser to President Barack Obama, is charging that the Republicans seeking the presidency don‘t understand the American public’s pent-up anger over corporate excesses.

Axelrod tells ABC’s “This Week” that the American people “want a financial system that works on the level. They want to get a fair shake:”

Axelrod Says GOP Doesnt Understand Wall St. Protests, Bashes Romney as Flip Flopper

He appeared Sunday, a day after scores of demonstrators protesting corporate business practices were arrested in New York’s Times Square in a confrontation with police.

Axelrod faulted Republicans who have been pushing in Congress to soften or repeal the landmark legislation Obama pushed through last year, tightening regulation of business practices.

Axelrod said he doesn’t believe “any American is impressed” when hearing GOP presidential candidates who want to “roll back Wall St. reform.”

The hypocracy of the left is so transparent that mainstream America will never get behind this movement with any enthusiasm. Agreeing on the wastefulness of the bailouts is a long way from agreeing to overthrow the government and turning it over to a bunch of reprobates.

Transparency is apparently very important to Mr. Axlerod. Transparency is also important to those who pose questions about the influence of certain groups in matters of the state. So let us inquire into those portions of Mr. Axlerod’s income that we are allowed to view.

Public disclosure law required Mr. Axlerod to state that he sold his 1/3 stake in a media relations firm for Three Million Dollars. This was in addition to his 7-figure annual compensation. His hard-working firm’s most notable contribution to society was the word ‘astroturf’. This word was definitely worth, like, $10 million dollars and the check Mr. Axlerod cashed was to compensate him for his hard work, and not to purchase political influence in the Obama Administration.

Mr. Axlerod’s other lobbying clients included Michelle Obama’s $200,000/yr stay-at-home pay-friend the University of Chicago Medical Center, The Brady Campaign against the 2nd Amendment, Chicago’s failed Olympic bid, and public utilities.

Golly, I am sure glad that Mr. Axlerod is looking out for me. Thanks for helping us understand the Wall Street protests Dave!

Axelrod’s criticisms of Repubs is just self-serving Obamaspeak. He is presuming to speak for most Americans when the truth is that most Americans no longer support Obama and his minions. Their demand for social justice and wealth redistribution through forced regulations have scared the heck out of most of us. Fixing Wall Street is not our biggest concern, rather it is saving the Republic from this onslaught of socialism.

We understand it perfectly…First we are making a “Do Not Hire” list of Protesters based on their public arrest records. Then we are making it available to any employer that wants a pdf. copy. This will leave all the good jobs for Conservatives. Ultimately the cost of goods will come down, no Unions, and the economy will improve. Next, realize that Obama promised “Shovel Ready Jobs” and we are leaving those jobs of street cleaning, waste/sewage disposal, and debris & poop cleanup for all the Protesters demanding that they be made into the Socialist working class. Since these jobs are low wage, especially after taxes, they can go on food stamps/medicaid & be happy. This means the Protesters won’t need college educations and the deficit can be cut. Once Obama is out of office, the Protesters can celebrate their socialist Shovel Ready lifestyle and contemplate the value of poop on police cars.

    Hey, Protesters: What About Solyndra?
    By David Asman
    Published October 14, 2011

The one thing about the Occupy Wall Street crowd that resonates with many Americans is their opposition to bank bailouts. The idea of using our tax money to bail out millionaires is nuts.
But that‘s exactly what’s happening with Solyndra. Some of the $535 million that taxpayers just lost with Solyndra is about to be used to pay off the investment of billionaire George Kaiser and other investors. These millionaires and billionaires made risky investments on Solyndra, and they lost. When rich investors make risky bets and lose, they should have to eat their losses. They certainly shouldn’t get paid back by taxpayers. But these friends of Obama are about to be. That’s not only unethical, it’s illegal.

It’s in direct violation of the 2005 energy law, which clearly states that taxpayer loans get paid back before private loans on these projects. Otherwise, taxpayer money will be siphoned into the pockets of the rich guys. But someone in the Obama administration made a deal with rich Obama fundraisers to go around the law.

If the Wall Street protesters are really mad about taxpayers subsidizing millionaires and billionaires, than they should bring the house down on the Obama administration for subsidizing a risky investment made by a billionaire friend of the president. But so far we haven’t heard a peep from the protesters about it.

Time to speak up and shout out, or shut up and go

They want a fair shake? Really?? So destroying the job creators is going to improve employment?? Taking money away from the wealthy and giving it to everyone is going to make things fair? Has this guy not heard of this little thing called HUMAN NATURE?? There will always be those who want to do better, to work harder, to acquire more to provide for themselves and their families. WTH should they be forced to also provide for a bunch of lazy whiners who want the same level of success (read: the same basic necessities and material trappings) without lifting a finger?? How exactly is THAT fair???

Remember, these are the same pathetic lemmings who refused to pay their share of the national debt. They also refused to allow redistribution of their GPAs in college to help out their underachieving, partying, lazy counterparts. Rich people aren’t job creators, because they never started creating more jobs in the ten years since we cut their taxes, and making them pay as much as they did in the late-twentieth century isn’t going to destroy them. Nobody is a hundred times as smart as me or works a hundred times as hard. Most of the people who make a hundred times as much as the rest of us have to be doing it by making sure other people don’t get as much as they deserve.

The new generation don’t want to work, or most of them don’t. Obama wants the US to be a welfare state. Obama has done more to destroy this Country in three years than all Presidents combined. Wall Street mob and the President do have one thing in common they all hate America and what bit stands for. Start by putting the Democrats in prison that forced banks to loan money to people that couldn’t afford to by a home, that would be a start. Barney Frank to start with, or his boyfriend. Most of those who voted for him for “historic” reasons are so over him at this point, those who voted for him because they believed the rhetoric of “hope and change” don’t like his brand of it. Even those who voted for him just because they are “traditional” Kennedy democrats are now rethinking their party affiliation. The biggest financial bubble that there has ever been is the “derivatives” market. These contracts are a zero sum game…one contract wins and the other contract loses. At the time of the October 2008 crash there was about $1.2 quadrillion in the derivatives market. That is 1,200 trillion dollars…20 times the US economy or about $200,000 for every inhabitant on Earth.

The Dodd Frank bill did nothing to regulate this market…the political contributors made sure of that. Putting a $5 monthly fee on an ATM card isn’t going to do much.

Currently, the derivatives market is about $1.5 quadrillion.

We conservatives do understand the Wall Street thugs very well. We are giving them a fair shake just as they gave the Tea Party a fair shake. We are not stupid. Next question? I could not get the sound to work on the video, so I have no idea what they were saying, nor do I care.

Wall st reform…Oh yeah, thats why the banks all upped their fees and are now going to charge $5 a month to use a debit card. It was such great legislation that now, there is no free checking at most banks. And the economy is just booming because of the extra regulation. These guys should all be put in an asylum….Is that a drone I hear?

Exactly. The Democrats had added regulations that hurt the banks’ financial status, make them pass on fees due to these, and then blame the banks for the mess the regulations cause. The Democrats are devious but committed to destroying capitalism with the help of their Lefty university professor / mullahs who have raised several generations of brainwashed, “everybody’s wonderful,” American Lefties. Hail, comrades…

He’s correct. I don’t understand people who engage in public sex, drugs, defecation and urination reprehensible language, flag burning, criminal activities, disrespect for law enforcement, posses an entitlement mentality, and are content to live in squalor and filth. On top of all that I’m 99% sure the vast majority of them haven’t bathed in quite some time. No, I DON’T understand them, and that’s a good thing!

Axelrod is a dope. Maybe he’s a survivor of the Haight Ashbury gang, but his garbled way of chanting comes out as a person who had too many brain cels fried by LSD.

The base of the Democrat party (the left) is 20% to 30% of the population or 60 to 90 million people. I don’t see even a million people turned out so far. A significant portion of those who turned out are paid. I would consider 1% or .5% to be significant (Kind of like a seed). the organize, keep morale up & shout down any opposition. There are grassroots aspects to this but there is an awful lot of astro turf.

We need to listen in on more conference calls of the left. Se what they are planning next

    Dear Mr Pencilneck

We understand very well who is to blame. It is the thieving Politician (Mostly DEMOCRAT) lawyers that are to blame. They create a Labyrinth Tax Code that no one can figure out (Tim Geitner). You lawyers have legislated manufacturing jobs out of the country. There should be a quota system to how many of these bloodsuckers can be in office at one time

I pray we have enough people to make a difference. We do understand their agenda and that is why they must destroy us at any cost. As for the programmed robots protesting for the most part, they haven’t a clue. Acceptance is so much easier and requires little thinking on their own. Why that would take time and effort and they are to darn lazy. Having your hand out for free government handouts must be exhausting. They need to be careful what they ask for. If they care more about themselves than their freedoms, and the welfare of this country and it’s people, then they will deserve to be thrown under the bus.
