Fallon Drummer Behind ‘Lying Ass Bit**’ Bachmann Song Officially Endorses Obama

Questlove, the drummer behind the “Lying Ass Bitch” walk-on music used to greet then-GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann when she appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last year, has officially endorsed President Barack Obama’s re-election effort.
Displaying a hair pick with an Obama campaign logo, Questlove — real name is Amir Thompson — appeared in an official Obama 2012 video and encouraged viewers to join AfricanAmericans.BarackObama.com.
“When I started supporting Barack Obama in 2008 he promised to bring real change and hope to our country and community as a whole. This is not a quick fix. It’s not like you can take a wand, ‘bing,’ and just make magic overnight,” he said in the video, posted online Tuesday. “He needs eight years to finish the mission and we need to have his back.”

Thompson’s support for Obama has never really been a question: His Twitter profile picture features the drummer posing with the president.
Thompson, the bandleader for Fallon house band The Roots, came under heavy fire for the song choice it used for Bachmann in her November appearance. As The Blaze previously reported, Thompson had alluded to the song he planned to use the night before the show, writing on his Twitter page: “aight late night walkon song devotees: you love it when we snark: this next one takes the cake. ask around cause i aint tweeting title.”
Bachmann demanded an apology from NBC, which ultimately denounced the band’s song choice and called it “unacceptable.”
Thompson later said he was told he must clear all future walk-on songs with the network ahead of time.
