Fareed Zakaria: Tea Party ‘Fundamentally Anti-Democratic,‘ Will ’Blow the Country Up’

CNN host Fareed Zakaria railed against the Tea Party Friday night, hours after the Senate blocked the House Republican debt plan. Speaking on “Anderson Cooper 360,“ Zakaria accused the Tea Party of being ”fundamentally anti-democratic“ and guilty of ”an extraordinary act of hostage-taking.”
“Instead of accepting some compromise that can get through the democratic process, what they‘re saying is we’ll blow up the country if you don’t listen to us,” Zakaria said. “We’ll hold hostage the credit of the United States, the good standing of the United States and we’ll blow it up….it’s an extraordinary act of hostage-taking.”
Agreeing with Charles Krauthammer’s reference to the strategy as “counter-constitutional,” Zakaria took it a step further, charging the Tea Party doesn’t “understand the workings of democracy.”
“They have not been elected dictators of the United States, they have been elected to one house of one branch of the American government,” Zakaria said.
Likening the current fiscal state to a “kind of national emergency almost like a war,” Zakaria hoped President Barack Obama would just fix the situation unilaterally.
“I hope that President Obama is seriously exploring the possibility of invoking the 14th Amendment,” Zakaria said, adding that he thinks the Supreme Court would allow it given the “level of dysfunction.”

Seriously, this is getting old. I have said for a while now (not on here but offline) that the Aug 2nd deadline is bogus as the Fed has come out and said that they might be able to squeak it out until September. This after extending it to Aug after the last deadline. The Fed and the Obama cronies know their deadline is a lie that is about to be exposed and the repubs are about to cave in to preserve this lie. We as a nation take in 200 billion dollars a month and our interest payments are 29 billion dollars out of that. We can live on 171 billion dollars a month but Obama can’t destroy our Constitution on that. He needs more to completely destroy this country. Republicans JUST SAY NO!!

The part of the 14th he is referencing speaks of the debt matters in the cases of rebellion or of there being an insurrection; and Zakaria is calling the tea party terrorists and hostage takers, and calls the actions supportable by the courts in the “level of dysfunction”
Key code words for this — declaration of national emergency and invocation of 14th along with the act of martial law and suspension of the Constitution…and link it with the radical rantings of Homeland Defense of ‘domestic right wing terrorists’…we have the perfect event established by Obama for the final shove by force to topple everything down.
This hit me last night when listening to a radio show and the host mentioned the DC band was acting like an ongoing insurrection in Congress…a nightmare possibility opened up indeed.

If Mr. Obama invokes the 14th and or martial law the 25th Amendment would have to be invoked. (Section 4 I believe.)
And aren’t these some of the same people that tell us that the Constitution is old, outdated and meaningless to begin with? Now all of a sudden they see a way they think they can use it to their advantage – it’s good as gold! You can’t have it both ways by God!
