Fast and Furious Testimony Fallout: ‘Attorney General Holder Must Step Down Immediately’

Congressman Raul Labrador (R- Idaho) has released a press statement from his office on Capitol Hill calling for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign over alleged discrepancies in Holder’s testimony regarding the botched ATF Operation Fast and Furious.

The press release explicitly accused the Attorney General of failing to tell Congress the truth, and reads in part that:

“The Attorney General of the United States has an obligation to provide truthful and accurate testimony to Congress. When Attorney General Eric Holder testified before Congress on May 3, his statements were either untrue or deliberately misleading.”

The demand for Holder to step down comes on the heels of a Fox News report that Holder received at least five weekly memos on the Operation Fast and Furious program almost a full year before he testified before Congress last May. Attorney General Holder stated at that time under oath: “I’m not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.”

Yesterday John McCain announced that members of Congress were deciding whether to appoint a special prosecutor to look into Attorney General Holder’s role in Operation Fast and Furious. A decision on the special prosecutor will be released within a few days, but McCain has already indicated Congress is “leaning towards” appointing one, according to Newsmax.

Meanwhile, President Obama told reporters earlier today that he retained “complete confidence” in Attorney General Holder and his handling of the Fast and Furious investigation. The White House has responded to Holder’s critics that the Attorney General either did not read the memos he was sent, or did not understand the question asked of him by Congress.

A number of ATF officials have been re-assigned or have resigned as a result of the Operation Fast and Furious fallout.

Concerns over Fast and Furious have grown every month since Holder’s initial testimony. It is now believed that over 2,000 guns were transferred allowed to “walk” into Mexico with the knowledge and possibly assistance of federal agents as part of a gunrunning operation to help identify and prosecute members of the Mexican drug cartels.

Those guns have been linked to hundreds of violent crimes– including reports that three weapons from the Fast and Furious program were found at the scene of murdered U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry.

Janet Reno was incompetent and thought to be the “protector” of Bill Clinton. She left and he stayed on. Holder leaving happens only if BO can make it into a campaign strategy, not before. Criminals do not turn on criminals when each has the goods on the other. You know Holder has secrets that could sink BO. BO needs Soros to write Holder a really big check to buy silence before he exits. Even then, there must be re-election value in the timing.

  You Know Holder WAS asst attorney general under Reno durning Ruby Ridge AND waco Right ! That cover up at the hearings made me sick Chuck Shumer and Biden’s questions , and speaches
  that ATF could’nt have done anything wrong . I know I should get over it already, but those were the days when I stoped trusting the Cops and my government……….Lost my faith that my government

Is Obama also giving weapons to or enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan? How would we know? This is Treason and Holder must stand trial for High Treason as did Ethel and Julius Rosenberg.   The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff should order a Battalion of US Marines to be on standby to move against the White House on short notice when the Leaders of Congress agree that Obama must be removed and arrested for the crime of Treason.   I had read that prior to being appointed, Holder demanded the DOJ position and the Obama administration had no choice but to appoint him due to the damaging information he had on Bill Clinton.
  
  My opinion is that Holder is part of the Marxist/Soros cabal and is their designated field soldier, inserted into every and any Democratic administration so as to assist “them” in achieving their sinister goals – laws be damned. BTW – where are the Republicans who should have had this guy fired three months into his appointment?

It makes me so angry when the media reports this story as a botched operation!
It was a planned operation. You dont put weapons in the Mexican drug cartels hands without tracking devices if your tracking them. Also if you are not allowed to follow them into Mexico how would you track them?
The plan was suppose to be under the radar as Obama stated,
bought & paid for with funds in the stimulus. Schumer, Clinton, Obama, Holder & the like pushed the untruth that the majority of weapons that were killing people in Mexico were coming from the US. They had to put the weapons in their hands to make it so… and that is exactly what they did. When the number of bodies started showing up crime scenes from these weapons is when they would finally have the proof they needed. These slicksters caused all of this tragedy for one reason only, to infringe on your rights to bare arms. They ran all 3 houses, and never in their arrogant minds did they ever think they would be caught! I am greatful for all the whistleblowers who risked their jobs and their lives to tell the American people the truth. They are the ones who deserve promotions and the others involved need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. What a despicable act to have no regard for anyones life on either side of the border… just to push an ideology!

  Before Operation Fast and Furious came to light, Obama, the president of Mexico and Clinton were spewing the story that evil gun dealers were responsible for guns in Mexico. They were pushing for a gun ban! Obama is up to his Dumbo ears in this ….when asked for the serial numbers of these guns Obama refused to produce them. So, If this is true……Holder is incompetent!!! and should be relieved of his duty! This man has turned a blind eye to criminal activity, and in my belief, has single handedly restarted racial altercations! he idly sits by while the new black panthers are wreaking havoc in the polling places, calling for the death of all crackers and ******* babies, and puts on a “how to kill whitey” seminar……all the while putting a clamp around any and all who utter ANYTHING that can be construed as “hate speech”….this man, and his boss have destroyed this nation by sending us back to the 60′s! racially, radically and economically!

Resign my a$$! Fire him! Find out who was reassigned and fire them too! There is some serious lying and covering up going on here and it should not be tolerated or swept under the rug. If laws are broken, prosecute them. Same with Solyndra. Is there another solar company being given 740 million in NEVADA, to a company tied to a relative of Pelosi? How can this be allowed to happen?   Before the Fast and Furious story broke Obama was stating that we need to reform our gun laws because too many weapons from America are getting in the cartels hands in Mexico. The crazy thing is that our own government was allowing them to be sold and basically infiltrated Mexico with weapons.   Wait a minute, if you believe that gun ownership is a right, what’s your problem with Operation Fast and Furious? If the guys that the guns went to are only suspected gangsters, not convicted gangsters, don’t they have as much of a right to have those guns as anybody else? I don’t see that it really makes any difference if they were suspected American gangsters or suspected Mexican gangsters. Our rights don’t come from the government or the Bill of Rights; they’re not a present that the government gives us. We’re endowed with rights by our creator. The Bill of Rights is just a promise from the government to protect the rights that everybody is supposed to have. That’s why the word citizen doesn’t appear anywhere in it. We have no more of a duty to respect laws that say that suspected Mexican gangsters aren’t supposed to have guns then we do to respect a law that says that Chinese dissidents shouldn’t have free speech. No, according to all of the libertarian principles that we as Americans are supposed to hold sacred, suspected Mexican gangsters have just as much of a right to arm themselves as you and I.
