Father of Fallen Firefighter Blasts Obama for ‘Talking Down to Us’

Family members of those killed at Ground Zero bring differing perspectives to the issue of the planned Islamic center and prayer room a few blocks away.

This morning on the CBS News program “The Early Show,” they had two guests representing both sides of the debate. Opposing the mosque — Jim Riches. He is a former deputy with the New York City Fire Deparment. His son Jimmy died on 9/11.

The hot point in the interview came when Riches railed against President Obama:

Riches explained his opposition to the Islamic center this way:

I find it interesting that Obamhad would choose to 1) not go to the Ground Zero memorial to honor Americans both living and dead, at such a critical time in our Nation and then to 2) turn the US Constitution around to favor “Muslim rights” in opposition to over 70% of Americans’ wishes. What does dingleballs see in this guy who clearly does not represent the people who elected him to S-E-R-V-E?

As a business owner old enough to be BO’s mother, I find his sarcastic, supercillious tone insufferable. The fact that he calls me, a retired teacher, a mother,a grandmother, and a tax-paying citizen, law-abiding citizen before he was even born a crass obscenity is beyond the pale. Yank him off the stage ASAP.

I’m nearly 40, and anytime a sitting president has talked about the great people of the United States, I would get a lump in my throat, feeling overwhelmed with pride. With Obama, it’s all just empty words read off a teleprompter. To me it sounds as if he is choking on the word “America” everytime it comes out of his mouth. This guy hates America and it’s people – we are all well below him in his own mind. I never thought I would see a Socialist/Marxist/Communist able to internally destroy our country from its highest office. I hope we still have something left of it by the time 2012 rolls around.

when I watched some of the 911 stories last night.. I realized that GWB reacted the way the rest of us reacted.. totally horrified.. but he had to contain his emotions to be able to lead this country at a perilous time..but yet you could see th pain in his eyes.

Pilgrim, you couldn’t be more correct. Fellow Americans do not seem to able to what Islam has done in Europe and is beginning to do here in the U.S. They are using our political correctness to take us down and while it may not happen soon, if we continue on our same path it will happen, they are very patient. If you read the true Arabic translations of both the Koran and Hadith it states explicitly that Islam must rule the earth, before there will be peace. If you look at history any where Islam made its way into a Christian nation, that nation was prominently muslim within a hundred years. We need to WAKE UP and stop being so NAIVE as to believing our leaders and the media.

I find that piece of truth quite objectionable as well, but it is, in fact, the truth. Form the builder:

“The design we have developed with the Port Authority calls for not only rebuilding the retail space that was lost on 9/11, but going above and beyond what was there before. We want to create a real destination for visitors and shoppers, a center that will share many of the attributes of the city’s great retail hubs”

So yes, a shopping mall will sit on that hallowed ground. In fact, in it. Think about that.

You really are demented, do you know that? Rebuilding in a place where people have perished is not a disgrace to their memories, but a natural part of moving on from tragedy.

There are many retail locations in San Francisco, where people died in the 1906 earthquake and in other places around the world. Should the Indonesian beach front hotels never re-open because of the tsunami of 2004 where many people died?

Horrible things sometimes happen, but humanity is supposed to greive, then rebuild. Do you suggest that ground zero remain a gaping hole in the earth? A perpetual reminder not only of the success of the evil people who attacked us on 9/11, but also an example of America’s inability to recover from a devestating tragedy?

Now THAT would be a disgrace.

Wow, I remember foks saying Bush followers were mindless zombies; & now Obama followers are getting the same…maybe there is some kind of weird “biprtisanship” there.

Some 9/11 families support the propsed mosque, some do not…isn’t that reasonable?

My only problem with the mosque is the fact that the building in question was damaged on 9/11 & the concept of a “victory mosque” bothers me, not the location, not that its Ismalic. The only other thing that downright OFFENDS me is that a Greek Orthodox church that was destroyed on 9/11 still hasn’t gotten permssion to be rebuilt, & this mosque has been so fast-tracked, but that’s my problem with government b.s.

I disagree with much of what the president proposes & does, most but not all…I disagreed with things that G.W. Bush did. Every policy, & decision that these clowns make must be met with individual analysis & thought…if not then we are contributing to the problems & not the solutions.

      Becklies:

How can an “opinion” be a “lie”?

For instance, I think you are a twit. That is my opinion. Now, what makes a person a twit is not a quantifiable thing. I come to the conclusion that you are a twit based on my own perceptions of what a twit is. You probably don’t think that you are a twit. Perhaps no one else on Earth thinks you are a twit. If I call you a twit, and neither you nor anyone else agrees with me, does that make me a liar? No, because, in my eyes, you are a twit. This is the nature of opinion.

Now, suppose you are a man and I say that you are a woman. Have I lied? Maybe, and maybe not. If I have not seen any proof of your gender then I am mistaken. However, if I have seen proof, and said that you were of a gender that you are not, then I have lied.

So, you see, calling Glenn Beck a liar because of a difference of opinion, or when he has made a mistake, is inappropriate. However, if you can provide an instance in which Glenn Beck (1) stated something as fact that was not, and (2) that he possessed full knowledge that what he was saying was untrue, then you can call him a liar.

The burden of proof is on the accuser. Your very name is an attack on Glenn Beck’s honest, integrity and character, and I have yet to see one bit of evidence from you that the attack is founded.

I will wait for that proof, and I suspect I will be waiting for a very long time.

The Kenyan street punk who lives in the White House never misses a chance to advocate for Islam, no matter which group of Americans he has to insult or disrespect in the process. This really should not be a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention since 2007.

He said America is not at war with Islam, which may be true—But Islam is sure as hell at war with America.

Go and buy a Koran, but before you burn it, read it—You will discover that it’s teachings are completely incompatable with our democratic form of government, and the Koran is completely hostile to America’s Judeo-Christian foundations.

Even the most liberal media types refer to “Muslim countries”, and they are correct. And although a few of the eight million Muslims in America from those “Muslim countries” are here for admirable reasons; most are here as part of a strategy of incremental conquest that has been so successful in Europe.

These people intend to subjugate the United States of America to Sharia law if we will allow it by continuing to buy the politically correct Tolerance Lie.

If you can find a website link to show us any of the following, please post:

Besides his original birth certificate, still concealed are his kindergarten records, Punahou School records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport (without issue and expiration dates blurred), medical records, client list from his time in private practice, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, Illinois State Bar Association records, his baptism records and his adoption records.

Oh the old “Executive order” argument. See, while that‘s not one of Beck’s lies, I’ll address it. Let me build up to this one and take you through it step by step. I just finished dinner and am enjoying a beer (a domestic one, even).

You’re refering to Executive Order 13489, Right? The one that deals with presidential records. Indeed, it seals records. But — and this is going to blow your mind — it only deals with official federal records generated in the office of the president. Not birth records, school records or anything else.

If that didn’t blow your mind enough, get this!

It is almost word-for-word the same as EO 13233, which seals the records for President Bush and which he signed his first day of office. And that one is a copy of the one for Pres. Clinton ( EO 12667), which is a copy of the one for Pres. George Bush sr and finally, it goes back to Pres. Ronald Regan who started the whole thing in the first place.

      Source: The national archives http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/executive-orders/2009-obama.html#13489

Read them for yourself. The president does not have the power to “Seal” any records other than those produced by his office.

Listen BECKLIES, that is a weak counter. People are just realizing that Obama is indirect when he speaks. They are figuring out that he is a typical politician and not the savior that he presented himself as.

Remember this, when someone campaigns on one liners or single word slogans he or she is pulling the wool over your eyes. The big mistake that so many made was not asking themselves “What kind of Change does Obama mean?“ or ”What is Obama Hoping for?”

It would not hurt you to expand your thinking into what makes the other side believe in small federal government, states rights and individual rights.

Why don’t you study those around you that do not have a job, have problem children, still live at home with their parents at 30+ and party all night and sleep all day. Then ask yourself this. Why are these peoples lives so disfunctional? When a person studies these things he can learn a thing or two about what mistakes to hopefully not make oneself.

You will find that all people are disfunctional to some extent, but some are more so than others.

I bet, in the least disfunctional people, you will find a common denominator of faith, family values and self reliance teachings. The government cannot do that efficiently. It is impossible.

When a method does not work don’t you think it is wise to question the intelligence of that method?

As far as Obama standing up for the Constitution, I disagree. He only uses the Constitution when it fits his agenda. Obama is no different than George W. Bush when it comes to the Constitution. They are just bashing it in different places, that is all.

I guarantee if the people would quite expecting the government to solve all these problems, we would be a whole lot better off.

President Obama does not use the constitution when it does not suit him, example: when he ordered the drilling moratorium after the judge had said they could not do this. I could give you many more examples. Obama said we are denying them the right to worship as they please. He knows darn well we are not denying them the right to worship, just wanting them to move the mosque. How can Obama make such a stupid remark with the hundreds of mosques were built in this country and no one said a word against them. Come on, wake up and smell the coffee !

When expedient he hides behind it instead of taking a brave stand for what’s right. As for Obama representing all Americans. He hasn‘t represented me in a single thing he’s done in office. In fact he’s gone against approximately 70% of the country every step of the way.

      Suddenly no caps, D-Bag?

Obama would use the Constitution as toilet paper if he thought he could get by with it.

The first thing I noticed about Barry-O, the first time I saw him give a speech, was that, when he speaks, he tends to tilt his head back and looks down his nose at his audience. This body language is indicative of a person who thinks himself superior and creates for him the ability to look downward at his audience. I know this type of body language well, and it gave me an instant negative opinion of the man.

His actions since have not endeared him to me in any way.

I wish I could post a certain picture of him here for you to look at. Whenever I see it, I think of it as the perfect picture to put in the dictionary next to the word “smug.”

Never in the history of this once great country has any President disrespected the Declaration of Independence or Constitution as the pond scum who occupies our house. Just look closely at his selected group of Czars. Every single one, by their own admission is either Communist/Socialist or radical intent on destroying the capitalist and democratic republic we Real Americans enjoy. The rest of us are too lowbrow to be like them — there is never ever a time for legitimate disagreement. We are always simply too stupid to get it. When you find a liberal who is willing to be your friend, you will notice how cowed they are by their lib friends who would viciously attack them if they didn’t fall into lockstep with the mantra… but they‘ll stay friends with you because you don’t hurt others nor do you mock and talk down. BS the president represents his muslim buddies he doesn’t represent us. We told him we don’t want that victory monument there. He told us its their constitutional right. He could have sent the FBI down there and told them it was too important to us not to have their victory monument there. But, no he was too busy sending the FBI down to Florida to make sure some little pastor didn’t burn a pile of woodpulp and ink and cause the whole membership of the religion of peace to come and murder our soldiers, destroy our embassies and wreak havoc on the world.

Our president is a muslim and is condoning the building of the mosque for muslims.
If this was Pres Bush he would NEVER allow that victory mosque to be built anywhere NEAR the site of the WTC atrocity, out of respect for the families, AND Americans everywhere. This is an AMERICAN issue, not NY! Please take the side of America and not of Islam. If you like islam move to the middle east, and see how tolerant they are of you.

Obama has admitted to being a Muslim and stated clearly in his book that he would support Islam if he had to make a choice.

For the first time in history, obama canceled the NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER,A CHRISTIAN DEDICATED DAY OF PRAYER FOR THIS NATION–then within weeks, he,obama, had a massive prayer day for the muslims in the inaguration room in the white house, obama and about a hundred muslims, takeing off their shoes and praying before allah—talk about blind people,,,WHY WOULD ANY AWAKE AMERICAN NOT SEE HIS FRUITS,,,HE IS NO COMMITED CHRISTAIN,,HE IS A COMMITTED MUSLIM,,WAKE UP AMERICA,,HES A LIAR AND A DECIEVER

Is this a victory Mosque? The organizers should comply with the following 1st before being allowed to build this center:

That it must be agreed 1st that those that claim Jesus is the Son of the Living God are not “Non-Believers” but are in fact Brothers entitled to their own faith.

That they condem Hamas and actively advocate for their termination and withdrawal of funding of them and any other terriorist organization.

That they pressure the NY city Council to also rebuild the Greek Church that was damaged on 9/11.

And that they wait till the war on terriorism is over to remove any doubt that this is not simply a victory Mosque.

That they denounce Sariah Law as a political rather than a religious function.

To stop burning our flag and our Bible when we are visiting or passing through their Nations.

Otherwise God will hold all our feet to the fire until America and all faiths within our boarders get it right that we are a Judeo Christian nation, and always will be.

      Thank you!

This president has and is doing everything he can to destroy true liberty and to act contrary to our Constitution which he is sworn to uphold.
The Constitution is designed to constrain the government to allow the true liberty for the people.
This president believes in the socialist, progressive ideal which leads to the tyranny of the ever growing government.
May God give us courage to overcome the tyranny the government by peacefully returning to the original intent of the Constitution.

The president absolutely talks down to those who oppose the ground zero mosque. Just as he talks down to anyone who opposes anything that he supports. He does not speak for all Americans, or for that matter even a majority of Americans. He speaks for the psuedo americans like seiu, acorn, the tides foundation, and those who are in agreement with the new socilist/communist movement, which by the way will be destroyed.
