FBI Catches Suspect Maryland Politician With $80K in Her Underwear

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A married pair of top officials in a Maryland county is accused of tampering with evidence after FBI agents said they recorded the husband telling his wife to flush a $100,000 check from a real estate developer down the toilet and to stuff almost $80,000 in cash in her underwear.

FBI Catches Suspect Maryland Politician With $80K in Her Underwear

Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson, whose second term expires next month, and his wife, Leslie, who was recently elected to the County Council, were charged with witness and evidence tampering and destruction, alteration and falsification of records in a federal investigation.

The charges grew out of a 5-year-old investigation into allegations of real estate developers in the county offering rewards to county officials in exchange for personal and business favors.

In an affidavit filed in federal court, FBI agents wrote that they recorded a mobile phone conversation between the Johnsons after agents went knocking on their door.

After Johnson told his wife, “Don’t answer it,” he instructed her over the phone to go upstairs to their bedroom and destroy the check, the affidavit said.

“Tear it up! That is the only thing you have to do,” Johnson told his wife, according to the affidavit.

Leslie Johnson then could be heard asking her husband, “Do you want me to put it down the toilet?”

The county executive responded, “Yes, flush that,” according to the affidavit, which noted that monitoring agents heard a flushing sound in the background.

Johnson then told his wife to put cash in her underwear, according to the affidavit. After FBI agents entered the home, they searched Leslie Johnson and recovered $79,600 from her underwear.

The Johnsons were arrested at home and released later on personal recognizance. Jack Johnson was placed on home detention with electronic monitoring. They both face a maximum of 20 years in prison.

Jack Johnson swore his innocence after being released: “To all the citizens of Prince George’s County, you know me. I‘ve served you long and I’ve served you well and most of you know me well. I cannot go into these allegations because my lawyers will kill me if I do. I’m innocent of these charges. I just can’t wait for the facts to come out. When they come out, I am absolutely convinced that we will be vindicated.”

Roland Patterson, Leslie Johnson’s attorney, said she is asking for prayers and support “through the ordeal of fighting to disprove the allegations that are pending against her now.”

U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein said authorities have tapped Jack Johnson’s phone since January 2010. Prosecutors expect more charges to be filed and more people to be charged.

Jack Johnson, 61, has been county executive since 2002; his term ends in three weeks. The Democrat was the county state’s attorney for eight years before that. Born in Charleston, S.C., Johnson attended Benedict College and got his law degree from Howard University, where his wife was also a law student.

Leslie Johnson, 58, worked for the District of Columbia government for nearly three decades before running for a seat on the council. She has been honored for her work in education and for a program she co-founded that provides support for women in jail. The couple has three children.

Prince George’s County borders Washington D.C. and is the wealthiest county in the U.S. with an African-American majority.

Government at any level can’t be trusted.Corruption goes on around the nation but it strikes me that some of the worst examples are cities where the gov. is controlled by blacks. For example,Baltimore,as indicated in the story,Detroit,Atlanta,DC,St. Louis,Oakland,Philly,Jersey City and others. When the white urban population escapes to the surburbs, the minorities left behind rise to power by default and often the system breaks down.** Hopefully, the Johnsons of Baltimore will be brought to trial and if found guilty jailed.

The Feds are saying to the illegals that it is OK to break the law, therefore we can ALL do what we want, even speeding. Am I correct on this Obamie and Eric Holder?

I love the sign by the woman! Experienced and committed? In what? Stealing from the taxpayers. They both ought to be committed to prison where they will experience just what they deserve. The thieving starts at the lowest echelons of government and gets worse and more expensive for the taxpayers the higher politicians get on the political ladder. Obalmy’s salary must be like streetcar fare to him. But that is no worry. I’m sure he can take another 45 car entourage like he is doing overseas now with all of his other thieving perks. Politicians are a blight on this country. If they are stupid enough to think the party isn’t over, we will speak through the ballot box as we did on Nov. 2.

    The Congressional Follies, 111th Edition
    By Jerry Shenk
Before the 112th Congress is sworn in, let’s review some of the lesser-known activities of the departing 111th. For every high-profile issue on which the House of Representatives votes, there are far more votes that receive scant, if any, publicity. It’s a shame, too, because these little-known votes, individually and in combination, serve to illustrate the limited utility of the body and many of those who inhabit it. By far, the House spends the greatest amount of its time on meaningless, boring inanities, but some things do stand out.

In addition to naming scores of Post Offices and officially congratulating multitudes of successful amateur athletes, college teams, and professional sports franchises (all gender-balanced, of course), the current House turned its attention to weightier matters by passing, sometimes unanimously, some very interesting bills and resolutions, most of which were never covered by the media.

For example, on April 29, 2009, by a nearly unanimous vote, the U.S. House of Representatives passed House Resolution 357, “Supporting the goals and ideals of Financial Literacy Month 2009, and for other purposes” (Roll Call No. 217).

This is the same body that, in the prior three months, committed trillions of dollars of American wealth as yet unearned by taxpayers, including by millions of taxpayers yet to be born. It’s astonishing that a group of legislators, a majority of whom cannot count well enough to be terrified by the word “trillions,” would dare urge the rest of us to become financially literate.

Viewed only on the basis of its unwitting artlessness, the resolution is hilarious.

Despite failing to read the massive bills on which they vote, members periodically pass similar resolutions expressing the sense of the House that Americans should learn to read, too.

The U.S. House of Representatives proves over and over that all of Washington, but especially Capitol Hill, is an irony-free zone. It’s not surprising that voters have begun to flush out the place.

Members of Congress are very sentimental about animals, too, and concerned about their welfare.

Consider the ROAM Act. (Note: The medical community does not consider “persistent acronymia” a terminal disease, but merely an annoying one.)

H.R. 1018 passed the House on July 17, 2009, by a vote of 239 to 185 (Roll Call 577).The bill, titled the “Restore Our American Mustangs” Act, is a welfare program for wild mustangs. That’s right, welfare for horses. Not only did the House squander time on this matter, but they’re willing to squander $700 million of our tax money to fund it.

Among other provisions, the ROAM Act mandates a horse census every two years, provides “enhanced contraception” and birth control for horses, and sets aside an additional 19 million acres of public and private land for wild mustangs.

Frankly, we were unaware that wild mustangs used birth control. The bill is not specific about what forms of birth control the House approved or why it favored those methods. Did members choose equine condoms, chemical methods, or intra-uterine devices? Will stallions or mares be responsible for birth control? Will members of Congress “administer” this new equine policy? Or will American taxpayers be on the hook for a new bureaucracy of horse pimps and procurers on the federal payroll?

An easier, less expensive solution to the wild mustang conundrum can be captured in the following two-word phrase: “Dog food.” But when has Congress ever transformed a perceived problem into a revenue stream?

    Wait — it gets better.

Amid the terrible problems of our times — mounting unemployment, a financial crisis, a declining dollar, two wars, and following the passage of massively expensive, ill-considered, unread, and un-debated spending legislation — the United States House of Representatives found time to honor a dude who’s been dead for more than 2,500 years.

On October 28, 2009, the House passed a resolution marking “the 2,560th anniversary of the birth of Confucius and recognizing his invaluable contributions to philosophy and social and political thought.”

Thought? Who thinks of this stuff? And who votes for it? Sadly, pretty much all of them do.

Sometimes it‘s what members of Congress don’t do that provides entertainment.

Members’ failure to read bills often allows the revelation of some really funny stuff after bills are signed into law and released for public scrutiny, though one must often get past the outrage to appreciate the humor.

The unread, failed Stimulus Bill contained some knee-slappers. According to various media reports, the Stimulus paid for, among other curious items:

    * $25,000 for The Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre in Minneapolis, a group which puts on an annual May Day Parade. Copied from its website, punctuation and all, one of the Theatre’s recent productions was titled “balloon balloon balloon, balloon balloon.”
    * Another $25,000 grant went to Philadelphia’s Pig Iron Theatre, which calls itself a “dance-clown-theatre ensemble.“ The group has staged a production of ”Welcome to Yuba City,“ described by their website as a ”cowboy/clown odyssey presenting hilarious fragments of a mythic American desertscape.“ I doubt ”mythic” even begins to describe their portrayal.

    And my favorite:

    * A $2-million grant was made to extend the Virginia & Truckee Railway, a tourist train line originally built during Nevada’s silver mining boom. The grant will allow the line to be extended beyond Mound House, NV, a community housing a number of legal brothels, including the Moonlight Bunny Ranch and the Kit Kat Guest Ranch. One wonders which attractions get more tourist traffic.

So, there you have it: May Day Parades, clowns, and whores — perfect metaphors for the 111th Congress.

Some members who controlled the last one will return in the next Congress, so much House-cleaning remains to be done.

They would have nothing to do with the missle or what ever it was. The CH-46 was just in the area. They definatly do not have the capability to fire or launch a missle like that. I have flown over 1000 hours in those buckets of rust, mostly along the so cal coastline.

      Sclibertymom;
I didn’t look at it because I already saw it in the video the first day. I used it to prove to the nay-sayers that the video wasn’t shot at a funny angle. There are buildings in the video too. I told them that if the video was shot at an angle to make it look like the ufo was going up, then the helicopter is either going straight up or straight down. Which obviously is not the case. It is a missile/rocket. I have pics of a missile that looks just like that. It was launched from Vandenberg AFB. It was clearly visible in the waning sunlight 500mi away in Reno, Nv. where I took the pics. I don‘t know why they won’t admit it. They never have told us which airplane they think it is! There is tons of extra radar around that area for security reasons and the AFB. They are lying. I think it’s funny that most people seem to believe what they are telling us. If you look around on the Blaze, there was a copy of an alert that went out warning marine vessels of missile launching in that area, at that time. There lying for some reason!

I’m gonna say the that is NOT a CH-46. A SeaKing does not have a tapering fueslage. It is larger on both ends and just good od fashion semi-round in the middle. Additionally, to the best of my memory, the USMC did not equip their CH-46′s with WHITE strobe lights, only RED and InfraRed(IR).
All helo have two rotors, a main rotor over the cabin and a tail rotor mounted vertically on the tail section. At 0:12, what appears to be the FRONT of the helo is brightly reflected, probably from the windscreen and nose. The tail section, from where the white stobe is flashing, is much smaller.

      CH-47 – http://www.chinook-helicopter.com/history/aircraft/D_Models/86-01648/86-01648.html

Many lightwieght helicopters’ tail section acts like a fin, extending above and below the tail boom, like the perrenial favorite of news stations, the Bell Ranger series –

A helicopter that is popular with LAPD and LAFD is the Bell 412, whose tail section extends only above the tail boom to support the tail rotor. http://www.freqofnature.com/photos/heroes2004/bigimages/image012.jpg

Both of these helos are normally equipped with WHITE stobes.

@scbellydancer.. that was my point no news media even fox talked about the helo, we want the truth no some made up garbage right, but no news or even the blaze pointed it out and it is sooooooo obvious they just want this story to go away. as for why I posted this here…. it was the first comment and I thought it would get noticed here. Our government and our media lie I hope the blaze just missed it, I didn’t notice it till last night we will see if they pick the story back up.

These two Black people were probably real poor before (LIKE ME NOW) so they couldn’t really not do it. They didn’t hurt anyone just like that Old Black Man Jefferson who had $80K in the frig. I guess $80K is the going price right now. It’s only money. They didn‘t kill anyone and besides They’re ‘POLITICIANS’. They do stuff like this all the time. They don’t go to jail. Look at Chuck Rangle. He makes enough money to buy a HOTEL on an Island. $80K that’s nothing they all have a lot of money, except the honest ones. How many of the are Honest? 5 or 6? It’s no Biggy.

HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK MICHELLE AND BARRY ARE STEALING RIGHT NOW?

I’m not sure why we’re discussing the mystery missile here, but as long as we are, I think it has something to do with the Iranians. Any country with a couple of submarines and the capability of exploding nuclear weapons at high altitudes could defeat America in a few minutes, because America’s Achilles’ heel is our electrical infrastructure’s susceptibility to being knocked out by an electromagnetic pulse (EMP).

Not that long ago, an Iranian military journal published an article entitled, “Electronics to Determine Fate of Future Wars,” which explained how Iran can cripple the U.S. by using a couple of high altitude nuclear weapons. All they would need to do is launch a nuclear weapon off of our Eastern or Western Seaboard, and then explode it ~80 miles over America. The resulting EMP would knock out most, if not all, of our electrical grid and in an instant we would be living back in the 1700s.

Not surprisingly, a few years ago Iranians began testing missiles specifically designed to destroy America’s electrical infrastructure. Is Iranian’s maniacal leader planning to knock us back into the stone age with a couple of high altitude missiles? Probably (he calls us “The Great Satan,” remember?). Was that mystery missile a dry run? Probably. One thing I know for sure, though, it will be a miracle if America survives Barrack “Jihad” Obama.

Alright, I’m looking real hard, but I just don’t see a helicopter in any of the imagery supplied in this story…

Plus, what would a helicopter have to do with a flushed check and $80k in the pants?

Dude… you posted off-topic here. Post it on the right thread. It doesn’t belong here.

2 sets of blades does not indicate a military helicoter. The Forestry Service uses twin rotor helicopters for removing trees from areas where they have to be able to climb quickly and require lots of lift. Though it isn’t likely to be from the Forestry Service, the comment than military is the only entity to emloy twin rotor helos is not definitive to say the least and just plain inaccurate.

I wanted to reply to “Bellydancingconservative” I was actually in th helicopter and yes it was a US missle that was in the picture. Anyway stop all the conspiracy talk the simple truth is this: Much like in the case of the corrupt Maryland politicians featured in this story above: President Obama was just flushing all the bribe money ($80 Trillion in this case whereas $80 thousand in Maryland) he got for passing Obamacare into space before he has to come back to the States and face the investigations in the new Congress.

An additional note is that our helicopter was almost knocked down several times on the way back to base that night by hundreds of other missles that were carrying the bodies of democratic congressional staffers that are being “fired into space” and will reach orbit around their new home: Planet Corruption on January 1st….

      Anymore questions?

Oh, FFS, SCLIBMOM….take a xaney or 12, go to sleep and wake up not thinking about, nor all-capping us about some chopper in the foreground of a video. Such utter BS is best saved for your lil circle of bridge-biddies. Now, Shut your cake-hole and leave us grown-folk to the serious thinking/talking here.
