A former New Mexico FBI employee has named Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice in a lawsuit, claiming she was harassed on the job by coworkers who were “jealous of her appearance and Latin singing career,” according to ABC News.
Erika Bonilla was hired by the FBI to work in human resources in 2002, then was promoted in 2007 to be an administrative specialist. Once promoted, she claims she found herself in a hostile work environment with coworkers who wanted someone else to get the job, KQRE-TV reported.

Bonilla’s suit, filed earlier this week, says she “was targeted, harassed and retaliated against because she is an attractive Hispanic female with a career in Latin music.” According to ABC, Bonilla is seeking unspecified damages and back pay for racial and gender discrimination.
She said her fellow workers made snide comments about her outfits and even rifled through her purse. One employee, the suit states, “made comments about how they needed to ‘get rid of Erika,’“ while another ”falsely stated that the reason the position was given to [Bonilla] was because [she] had sexual relations with executive management in the Albuquerque Office.”
Bonilla ultimately filed a discrimination complaint with the FBI in 2009, but she claims her treatment just got worse, with her bosses unfairly scrutinizing her, scoring her lower in reviews and accusing her of time card abuse.
Bonilla has since transferred to an FBI office in California, where she has since received “good ratings…even obtaining an award,” the suit states.
Still, she says the workplace harassment caused her “a great deal of unnecessary stress for years” and she “also started having high blood pressure, which is a direct result of the work stress.”

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 1:57amI worked for the IRS, ended in a unit where the manager was destroying thousands of taxpayers’ letters. I fought this for three years until I had a nervous beakdown. EEOC turned me away twice, sending me to the union. The union (NETU) turned me away twice. I quit- the union says because “I had quit=I had not been harmed” I’m sorry for all of those taxpayers that ended up with additional penalties. No one is going to sue the IRS!!!

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 11:18am@Fedup I was not commenting on the article. I was commenting on the Posts! BTW the EEOC filing would include Holder since he is the head of the DOJ and the FBI is one of it’s Agencies.

Posted on June 23, 2012 at 11:38pmShe’s a gold-digger. Period.
I want to clarify that I believe AG Holder is in contempt, not just of Congress for F&F, but in contempt of his oath to defend the US Constitution. I believe he hates the US Constitution and he’s using his office to do as much damage to it as possible.
With that being said, I don‘t think he or his office is responsible for this young woman’s sexual harrassment.

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 5:34pmI believe O never really took the oath, either. He flubbed it twice in public (my opinion is that it was intentional), and we were told he did it the third time in private and got it right. I don’t believe it, prove it! He couldn’t swear to uphold something he detests, now could he?

Posted on June 24, 2012 at 7:16am@Snufy: Because sometimes it takes a while for the comments to work through their system and get posted. I think it has to do with their programing looking for words that are not acceptable, or something like that. It might also have to do with how busy the system is. If there’s a lot of people commenting then it takes longer. I’ve had to wait for over an hour, or more sometimes, for my comment to show up. The thing that irritates me more is after making a comment and hitting the “reply” button it says that I have to be “signed in” in order to comment. Then I have to sign out and back in for it to work. Oh Well. One of life’s little problems I guess. Not everything goes the way we want sometimes.

Posted on June 23, 2012 at 9:32pmI tend to believe this woman. Myself and friends of mine that are very attractive have all been harassed on the job because of jealousy.
Report Post »I have found that if a woman has a Phd and a successful career, she will still be jealous of the woman who is more attractive, with only a high school education.
If your more attractive than the woman interviewing you for a job, you will not be hired.
If you have a male boss who hits on you, and you turn him down, he will get rid of you or demote you.

Posted on June 23, 2012 at 8:15pmI worked with a mentally ill Hispanic woman who made the same types of claims. She did it for years and the County of San Bernardino never had the guts to deal with her out of fear of a lawsuit. She was certifiably sick, making up all kinds of outrageous claims. When she started on me, I went straight to the top, telling them that they need to deal with this loon. They did not. Swept it under the rug with a so called apology.
Report Post »I simply don’t believe this woman. She is looking for fame and a paycheck…nothing more.
OBTW…are you sure her name is not Teresa?

Is she a starving artist? If she has great looks and a great singing career, why is she still working for the FBI? Oh, I guess it is the excellent retirement package and the yearly salary, with the Special US Healthcare that others Americans don’t get.

Personally I would like to see all of them held accountable legally like you or I would be. Instead we will get Obama living a royal life, making 250K$ speaking engagements tell us how screwed we are because of our skin color.
I say Prison is too good for them but I’m not a violent person. Sentenced to a prison farm & hard labor now that is something I could get behind. You & I would have been in prison for far less.

Posted on June 23, 2012 at 5:09pmIf Eric is jealous of this woman it‘s because he’s black and she’s white. It’s a distinction that the left makes all time – skin color. Erika, you might want to check your lingerie, you may be missing some panties. Owl Shaprten is said to have taken someones for his own personal collection. You probably won’t want them back though, they’re probably already strectched out of shape.

Posted on June 23, 2012 at 4:52pmIf all of this is true, she’s got a good case. Considering the fact that government employees are mostly unionized, their jealousy makes sense.
