FBI: George Zimmerman Is Not a Racist

The Trayvon Martin Case has been off the news for a good amount of time recently, ever since Martin’s shooter, George Zimmerman, posted his $1 million bail. Zimmerman now awaits trial, and news from the case will likely remain less than notable in the meantime.

However, readers with a long memory may recall that after the shooting initially happened, the FBI undertook an independent investigation, presumably on the off-chance that this was a hate crime. Now, the evidence appears to be in, and it shoots a gigantic hole in the theory of Zimmerman’s detractors that he was a racist loose cannon just waiting to go off. Reuters reports:

FBI interviews with dozens of friends, coworkers and neighbors of George Zimmerman found no evidence that the accused murderer of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin was a racist, according to new documents released on Thursday.[...]

FBI agents investigating whether race was a factor in the shooting spoke with Sanford police officers, Zimmerman’s bosses and colleagues, friends, neighbors and others to determine if he had ever shown any racial prejudice.

In one interview detailed in the evidence, Sanford Police Detective Christopher Serino, the lead investigator in the Martin case, told the FBI he did not believe Zimmerman’s shooting of Martin was motivated by race.

“Serino believed that Zimmerman‘s actions were not based on Martin’s skin color (but) rather based on his attire,” according to a report.

Serino told investigators that members of local gangs, who called themselves “Goons,“ frequently wore ”hoodies,” or hooded sweatshirts, and he believed Zimmerman “took it upon himself to view Martin as acting suspicious.”

Martin was wearing a hoodie and returning from a convenience store when Zimmerman called a 911 dispatcher and said the teen looked suspicious and then followed him.

This answers many different questions. The existence of a local gang that called themselves “goons” puts to rest forever the smear that Zimmerman had used the racial slur “c**ns” while still on the phone with 911 dispatchers. It is far more likely – assuming Zimmerman wasn’t commenting on the unusually cold weather – that the quote was actually “f**king goons.” The report also vindicates Fox News anchor Geraldo Rivera, who originally blamed Martin’s attire for his death.

Moreover, ironically enough, the only group Zimmerman was shown to have any prejudice towards was actually fellow Hispanics. From an Associated Press report:

The FBI has been probing the handling of Martin’s death for any civil rights violations, but the agency hasn’t released any findings.

Zimmerman’s ex-fiancée told FBI agents that he had never exhibited any prejudices. She “observed Zimmerman as he socialized and played basketball with white, black and Hispanic men,” the FBI report said. “Zimmerman’s friends were from all of these racial groups.”

The only exception, however, were when he once went on MySpace and was critical of Mexicans, saying when he lived in Virginia they pulled out knives and messed with people’s cars.

“I don’t miss driving around scared to miss Mexicans, walkin on the side of the street, soft as wanna be thugs messin with peoples cars when they aint around,” one entry said.

This is not to say that the report is all good news for Zimmerman. The FBI apparently did find enough evidence to suggest that Zimmerman was “overzealous” and had a “hero complex,” and suggested he be charged with manslaughter. This charge would be far less severe than the charge of second degree murder that Zimmerman currently faces in Court, but it still suggests that the neighborhood watchman was guilty of doing something wrong.

And indeed, he may well have done. The trial of George Zimmerman for the shooting of Trayvon Martin has yet to begin. The trial of George Zimmerman as a racist pig is, however, mercifully concluded.

As it stands now, being of any race other than ***** automatically puts you in the position of being suspect. Of course in Ovomit and Holders‘ world that’s all it takes because Negros look like they could be Ovomit and Holders sons/daughters. It’s time to reject this administration.       Come to find out, Zimmerman is not-guilty and the Feds have hanged him out to dry. Will he ever get back the time he was being prosecuted and persecuted for defending himself.

      I feel sorry for a dead teen, but I equally feel sorry for the person who is victimized and yet was the victim and defended himself.

      I agree that Martin was probably the racist one, only because most young black men are taught to hate whites and to engage in criminal behavior by their role models and peers, respectively.

      But that fact is unfairly being used here as a priori proof that Martin threatened Zimm’s life. Despite all the evidence that has come out regarding Zimm’s tendency to snap and attack you guys keep defending him. Why? Because Obama never lets a crisis go to waste and if there isn’t one he’ll create one. If Zimm is found guilty it’ll give the commies an excuse to repeal Stand Your Ground.

      I hear you. However, in my book justice and truth still matter. According to Fox News, it now appears that Zimm refused medical attention the day of the shooting and only asked to see a doctor the day after. REALLY? What’s new. Yet more proof that Zimm is lying.

      You guys are never going to convince any honest person in the medical field that this guy’s head was pounded into the pavement again and again like he claims. It is beyond preposterous.

What has 5 letters and refers to race? White? Black? I mean, depending on one’s perspective, both could be substituted.

      Your name, Justice4Lee, is biased. I wouldn’t want someone like you on the jury, because your mind is already made up, and my bet is that even if evidence proves him innocent, you would still want him hanged – by a black lynch mob. As for me, I wasn’t there, I don’t know what happened, I don’t have all of the facts, so I have no idea of the verdict. I’ll wait until the jury (sans you) decides.

      No one is saying that the history of African Americans in this country has been a hard one, but don’t give me that “they are the most picked on people in the world” crap. I can think of a few Jews, Irish, Native America just to name a few) that would see things differently.

      But despite that when did two wrongs make a right? no matter how bad things were it is no reason for the current power that be to discriminate against anyone who is not the right skin color. if we are being honest a black man could walk into my home and shoot me dead yelling racial slurs and although he would still be tried he would be portrayed a victim of society. If I shot a black man because i wanted to rob him I would be a raciest bigot who committed a hate crime, I would actually get a harsher punishment for the color of my skin.

      discrimination is wrong regardless of who it is aimed at.

      Well, for starters say why you think my judgment is “wacky,” unless all you want is to throw ad hominems at me. When a story defies both common sense and the evidence that is already out there, but you choose to ignore it, that is not being impartial. Face it, you WANT Zimm to be innocent because it keeps your second amendment rights safe — or so you think.

      Let’s do a little mental exercise here. Put yourself in Zimm’s shoes. If you see the punk coming at you shouting verbal threats — which is what Zimm alleges happened — do your well-honed patrol instincts kick in, prompting you to draw your gun and A) shout, “Stop or I’ll shoot!” OR B) shoot, if there is no time to issue a warning, OR C) do you stand there like a complete idiot and wait for the attacker to jump you, mount you and beat you to a pulp?

      You want me to believe Zimm is a dumb*** who carries a gun in case his own shadow gets too close?

      This is an open and shut case of self-defense.There’s no question of that. He passed a lie detector test and two witnesses, plus a police tape verify his account of what happened.

      Concentration in this entire affair should NOT be on Zimmerman. The issue that cries out for explanation is this perp’s rabid attack and vicious assault on a neighborhood watch captain simply for doing his job which is to watch the neighborhood for suspicious behavior.

      And if there is “racism” to be discussed, it should be directed toward why black males are involved in so many of them.

      The hate toward Zimmerman by the judge who hates guns and a hateful prosecutor whose only purpose is to railroad an innocent man to keep black mobs from rioting, just as Dershowitz says, is FAR worse than what Nifong did in the La Crosse case.

      Yes, there’s a lot of unjustified racial hate against Zimm, an agenda on the part of the Obama admin and IMO, the judge was biased and unfair when he raised bail to $1M. However, none of that proves Zimm is innocent.

      I find it troubling that the government thinks it has the right to make these decisions. I guess they have a new mind reader machine we haven’t heard about yet. The whole concept of “Hate Crimes” is subjective, and it requires mind reading. Can‘t we just agree that murder is ugly and can’t be multiplied any worse, not if it is one or ten million murdered. Motives like this should have no business before the jury, it just prejudices them. To think otherwise just shows a bias. Maybe during sentencing it might be a consideration, but I still think murder is nasty enough all by itself. Apparently the “Hate Crime” crowd things some murders are worse than others. I believe in equality. All murders are equal.

But, GZ, had no training… no uniform… no back-up… nor did he have police authorization to make this stop or intervention!!! As a matter of fact, Z would never have exited his vehicle if he didn’t have a 9 on him!!!

      GZ exercised his judgment… and now a young man is dead… forever!!! And Z should spend the rest of his life in prison!

      It is always so interesting to me that the racist segment of the white community, and you know who you are, we need not point you out; can always [only] talk about t responsibility… but, when it comes to a pathetic individual like GZ… that is when the verbal gymnastics start!!!

      Response: No, you cannot pull your gun first. There’s the issue of “imminent mortal danger.” Without it, it would be called “brandishing a firearm.” Warning shots are fired only in Hollywood.     Yeah, hero complex. I’d like to see what one of these jckss FBI agents would do if they were getting their head slapped on cement thinking they were going to pass out any minute. I imagine they would‘ve shot and killed the punk after the first impact and they wouldn’t contemplate for a second charging a fellow agent with manslaughter. What a bunch of crp. What really makes me mad is so what if Zimmerman didn’t like blacks? What if he didn’t like whites? Or “white Hispanics”? So what, if you’re getting your head pounded in and fear for your life you should be able to use deadly force to save yourself. So what if Zimmerman had called someone the “n word” then he goes to prison for life? What a bunch of ridiculous bs. We have blacks constantly calling white racial slurs while they attack them and not a single thing is it ever called a hate crime or anything done about it. The liberal left in this country need to be reigned in with their Orwellian thought police fascism.

      Wow, yeah we can’t possibly have someone wanting to protect their neighborhood and neighbors. Heard that black thugs were breaking into people’s houses in his neighborhood while they were at work. And they broke into a neighbor’s house where there was a woman that lived there alone and she was with her child. She freaked out and locked herself in an upstairs bathroom and called police and luckily they took off without her being harmed. So the demented “hero complex” guy heard about and gave her he and his wife’s cell numbers and told her to call if she needed help right away. He was concerned about his wife because she was alone during the day as well.

      Sounds to me like a good guy to have as a neighbor! I ran a couple black kids out of our neighborhood one night I saw them sneaking around a house up the street after midnight in the bushes. I stopped got out and yelled what the h3ll are you doing and they ran off. Wow, guess I have a hero complex too. So what are we all supposed to lock ourselves in our houses and cower in fear? Screw that we need to be proactive and protect ourselves that’s what the stand your ground law is intended to do and in this case… it worked! I’ll be break-ins are way down since the shooting happened.

      @Sagacious – Be glad they found what they did – even if they had to stretch it to find “he PROBABLY” did something wrong. Holder sicced these guys on them so he could lynch Zimmerman if he is found INNOCENT. The FBI may have inadvertantly crushed any chance Holder has to lynch Zimmerman.

      The FBI’s job is to go after anyone who in any way irks, disturbs, threatens or appears to threaten His Royal Lowness, Barack Hussein Obama. Did Zimm do that? Well, not directly. He’s a Dim and voted for Obama. If his last name had been ‘Rivera’ instead of ‘Zimmerman,’ he might have gotten away with his crime. Too bad he sounded so white.     It also describes 98% of all the FBI Agents, and perhaps that would also include the ones who made this assessment.

    Having those who themselves are possibly guilty of the same psychological traits of being
    “overzealous” and having a “hero complex”, would by rule of common sense suggest their assessment could very well be influenced by those same traits.

    “It still suggests that the neighborhood watchman was guilty of doing something wrong.”

    An opinion that “SUGGESTS” is not valid proof of anything, the fact that the evidence “SUGGESTS” that he may have acted in self-defense carries far more factual and legitimate weight.

    The only problem with this assessment would be the fact that in order to make such an assessment about what motivated Zimmerman to act as he did, they must also perform an identical character assessment of Martin, as well as a motivation assessment of Martin.

    Following someone once, or even verbally confronting someone is not a crime for which one is justifiably arrested. However, physically attacking someone in a violent manner for doing so is a criminal offence.

    It can very well be argued that Trayvon Martin during the commission of a felony assault, contributed significantly to his own death during the commission of that crime.

    Zimmerman would stand a better chance of a fair trial in North Kore

      Why anyone would submit to a character and/or motive assessment about what they did, I don’t know. You are innocent in America until THEY prove you are guilty. To agree to any kind of assessment, lie detector (a fraudulent machine constantly being foisted upon the public as legitimate), or even a police interrogation is to only give the authorities a rope to hang you with. You must strongly resist these tyrants. The police (and prosecutors) are NOT your friends. They do not care about fairness. They are not men and women of integrity seeking truth and justice. They do not care if they send up an innocent person. They will relentlessly pursue you regardless of your guilt or innocence (DR. Hatfield). Once you are convicted, the pressure is off them, the case is closed, the notch is on the gun, and they will NEVER omit they made a mistake. If you let them interrogate you, they will use the Reid Interrogation Method, a brutal system of constantly twisting the truth, even after you effectively refute it. This system is so brutal, Great Britain outlawed it. You can put a stop to all of this police viciousness by simply refusing to talk to them in the first place. Realize that you are dealing with brute beast when it comes to any member of any justice system. It will do you absolutely no good to try to cooperate with them.

      Zimmerman isn‘t a racist because he’s a registered democrat. Isn’t that what Democrats are always preaching to us, that the evil right is full of racist haters. YES they do. The very fact an assessment like this had to be performed only illustrates how a muder has been turned into a race issue. How many other murders since then have happened? Where are those assessments? I blame the Black Panther party, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the liberal media for turning this into a race issue. Sad commentary indeed.

      @Battles – I’d like to know if they can bring yo to trial and convict you if you remain silent? I really would. Joran Vandersloot and his buds got off for killing that Holloway girl by stubbornly refusing to say a word. They were locked up for months, but they walked. Is our justice system set up to where that could happen?

      I’m thinking it more likely they would railroad us anyway just to show they can.

      On January 13, 2012, Van der Sloot was sentenced to 28 years imprisonment after he pled guilty in Peru to the murder and robbery of Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramírez. He is now serving his sentence in a Peruvian prison (a Peruvian prison is only one step above hell itself). God has a way of bringing the guilty to justice, even if they avoid their just deserts elsewhere.

      Well written post. Not that it matters, but, the element of this story is racism. Thorough investigation showed he had no past of racist activity. I am not defending him.

      Thorough investigation showed that Martin did have a past of racist activity. That being said I would assume we could all agree that the element of racism in this case would have to be directed towards Martin. And sharpton. And Jackson.

      Want to end racism? Yeah sure. Fire al and Jesse and find leaders who can help these misguided youth in the black community realize that they have nowhere to go once freedom is lost. I’m sure with a name like African warrior you could suggest a few place in Africa where freedom is abundant and opportunity is unlimited.
      Let me know where it is, because as a white-Hispanic I may need a place to run once communism, with the help of Americans, is the system of law here. Thanks.

      I’ll say it again: The FBI works for Obama, as in, they are HIS agency. Obama wanted to make this about race, so he had Zimm investigated.

      I’ve known all along that Zimm was not racially motivated. He went after the kid because Martin was a punk. However, once the verbal confrontation started, one can safely assume it was racially charged, and when Zimm shot Martin, you bet he was angry about every racial slur the kid threw at him together with that punch in the face that hurt so bad.

      Zimm is a short-tempered guy. He killed out of anger.

      I would suggest that we don’t know all of the evidence. So we are making assumptions based on limited information. It will all come out. The element of the story was racism. Nothing else followed in reference to the actual case. Your opinion of what transpired is exactly that- opinion.

      For what it’s worth, for those who don’t know Sanford is a third world city here in Florida. Not safe to walk the streets at night even with a gun.some law enforcement recruits refuse to even apply for a job there. You can make your own assumption as to why.

    Well, this is good news for one and all. Sharpton should be happy to know this incident did not happen because of race, as he has assumed all along (although he’s likely to deny that now) and it’s pretty good for Zimmerman, although he does apparently suffer from what the FBI calls a “hero complex.” (maybe they ought to have a conversation with Big Sis) and of course, it seems Jerry Rivers was right all the time. That’s a relief. Can’t wait for the first hurricane to blow him out to sea.
