FBI Testing Suspicious White Powder Sent to Church of Pastor Who Preached About Killing Off Gays

FBI Testing White Powder Send to Pastor Worleys Church | Gays & Electric Fences

Pastor Charles L. Worley

We’ve already told you about the protesters who have been railing against North Carolina-based pastor Charles L. Worley following his sermon calling for gays and lesbians to be contained in an electrified fence until they die off. But now, in the wake of a controversy that doesn’t seem to be dying down, the outspoken faith leader’s church was mailed a suspicious package filled with white powder.

(Related: ‘God Abhors You’: Protesters Rally Against Pastor Who Called for Gays to Be Placed in Electric Fence)

According to reports, a member of the Providence Road Baptist Church opened an envelope and white power poured out. Immediately, Hazmat teams arrived on the scene and the individual in question was sent to a hospital to ensure safety. As CBS Charlotte reports, the incident comes just one month after Worley uttered his infamous words about gays being placed in electrified fences.

The Winston-Salem Journal has more:

An envelope containing the substance was discovered and opened at Providence Road Baptist Church by a church staff member Thursday morning, according to Jim Dickerson, acting public information officer for Catawba County.

Postal inspectors didn’t have enough of the white substance to test onsite, so it was packaged and taken to the FBI lab for identification, according to Dickerson.

The church has been locked down, and no one is allowed in until clearance is given. Deputies will continue to patrol the church grounds. It may take as long as 48 hours to get the test results from the FBI. As a safety precaution, no one will be allowed to go in the church until the results are in, said Catawba County Sheriff Coy Reid.

As The Blaze previously reported, in the two-minute video, which appears to be a portion taken from a longer sermon, Worley condemns Obama’s recent endorsement of gay marriage, and makes a shocking statement about homosexuals — that they should be placed inside of an electrified pen until they die off. Call his words mere hyperbole or pure hate — at the least, taken in the minimal context they’re presented in, they are stunning.

“Build a great, big, large fence — 150 or 100 mile long — put all the lesbians in there,” he said in the sermon, which was allegedly filmed on May 13. “Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out…and you know what, in a few years, they’ll die out…do you know why? They can’t reproduce!”

Watch the original video, below:

While the church initially attempted to ignore the controversy and the pastor has remained quiet, the furor was so intense that the Providence Road Baptist Church web site apparently now showcases a brief statement that reads, “We offer NO apologies in believing the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible is the inerrant Word of God.”

Ever heard of the internet term “troll?” Maybe this preacher is the ultimate example of off-internet trolling. What did we learn? That some so-called rights groups have completely crossed the line into fellony domestic terrorism. Keep reporting them to the FBI, even if there is no obvious immediate result. The investigations into terrorist organizations take years and may result in future prosecutions when the political attitude is no longer “blame the victim.” FWIW, a local gay rights activist reacted very badly, insulting me in public, when I brought up a terrorist issue that I had previously thought to be completely unrelated to gay activism. Lucy, you‘ve got some ’splain’ to do!

The Blaze continually follows up with this unpopular pastor’s statements with top-of-page headlines… Yet:

Of Creflo Dollar, the Southern mental-enslavement Aristocrat Pastor, he absurdly demands a 10% tithe-tax from the sweat of other men’s brows, or else BE SHOT!.. Here is a transcript of Creflo Dollar’s voice on Youtube…

“But.. if there were non-tithers (at his church) the bar would lock up, red and blue lights would start going, the siren would go off, and a voice would go throughout the entire dome: “Crook! Crook! Crook! Crook!” [uncomfortable laughter]

“Security would go and apprehend them. And once we got them all together, we’d line them up in the front, and pass out Uzis by the ushers. We’d point our Uzis right at all those non-tithing members, ’cause we want God to come to church. And at the count of three Jesus‘s we’d shoot ‘em all dead! And then we‘d take ’em out the side door there, have a big hole, bury them!

“And go ahead and have church, and have the anointing! Aren‘t you glad we’re under the blood of Jesus?” [Crowd says AMEN!]

When will The Blaze editors make a headline out of this?

Or will advertisements on The Blaze from Joyce Meyer, T.D. Jakes and Ed Young Jr. stop critique of Big Name Televangelists?

Live by the sword, die by it. Eye for an eye. What do you people expect. This religious man made obvious deadly threats about people and was caught saying it. He knows one of his followers is just crazy enough to attempt murder and he is just encouraging it. Total coward. Now the world knows about him and evangelicals in general. Every born again church in the country must be banning recording devices during sunday services. He and his family are now living the life they promote for others. Fear of pain and death. Taste of his own medicine.

This story is so slanted just like the rest of the media. He wasn’t calling for the death of gays, he was making the point that they can‘t survive as a segregated group because they can’t procreate and would eventually die off. This is such hyperbole, it’s pathetic and ridiculous. Don’t worry, where there’s no story…..the media will create one!

This pastor with his statements has taken the Lord’s name in vain. Just imagine how many people are put off from God’s love because of his remarks.

“We offer NO apologies in believing the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible is the inerrant Word of God.” No sir you have taken it upon yourself to take the word of God and spin it to fit your opinion, when you claim it enforces your remarks.

Don’t get me wrong the bible talks about homosexuality as an abomination and detestable practice, but it is also written Matt 22 v 37-40 “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

You can speak out against homosexuality without targeting the people who practice it. There are so many things he could have said besides “Build a great, big, large fence — 150 or 100 mile long — put all the lesbians in there, Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out.” This man is either a terrible pastor or a hate filled one. Neither are very good, he should probably step down from his position.

I’m losing respect for THE BLAZE. The header reads “Pastor Who Preached About Killing Off Gays”.
He never stated that he wanted to “kill off GAYs”. He said fence them in (like on a reservation), and feed them until they eventually die off, because GAYs don’t reproduce.

Pastor Worley was trying to illustrate the fruitlessness( LOL) of Homosexual relationships , namely they cant reproduce, and if isolated to themselves would die out, not that more would not be around, since Sodomites arent born their made! This is a rant! Not a serious plan! I seriously doubt that folks from his church are stalking the streets in Sodomite patrols , looking to kill any Sodomites they encounter! This is a just a excuse to ratchet up the hate for when they round up us Christians ( No Im not talking about you tolorent soft soaping modernist) Preaching is hate speech mark my words it is coming ! Anyone whose inturpretation of scripture is not favorable to the newspeak bigbrother, will find himself in a little reducation cell with a “Teacher of diversity ” as his cell mate! As long as we are bible believers we can never accept sodomites as anything but a person whose lifestyle and sexual practices cause him to be given up on by God! No Sin is immune from being preached at, but the last time I checked there wasn’t a PAC , or group seeking minority status for shacked up fornicators , or unrepentant adulters. Both of which God condemns. Would it fly at a divorce hearing if the husband claimed he was born an Adulterer, ” Your honor, I just always knew I couldnt handle commitment! I was born this way, I just cant stop chasing women”. Would Churches be forced to accept members living in open sin , such as adulterous relationships , or live in relationships?

Heterosexuals cannot reproduce either if all the men were locked in one electric pen, and the women locked in another.

If you think about it, what he was really saying is that homosexuality is genetic… it is passed down… it is a natural variation. I don’ t think he intended to say that, but that IS what he was implying… “if you keep homosexuals from reproducing then it will disappear” is basically what he said.

A man with murder in his heart is just as bad as homosexuality. Jesus came here to seek and save that which is lost, not to kill it. If that be the case, then we all have something that keeps us apart from God. One sin would have had Christ not died as the last sacrifice for our sins. Homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God and it is quite clear. This pastor should take heed that he is driving those away who might have wanted to change their lives through Christ.

Alsto the powder….get a life and quit taking on things you know nothing about. God said homosexuality is an abomination, so take it up with Him. There are better ways to get your point across than threatening those who disagree with you. Just remember: God is the ultimate authority. Whatever it is get it right and repent and get Christ in your heart and you will not desire to live a lifestyle that you will know is not what God wants.

If you are refering to Romans 1, 1 Cor, & 1 Tim — then they are talking about idolatry, or pedophilia… although some people believe the last two are talking about sodomy and not pedophilia… either way, they in no way condemn homosexuality et al.

That church must not know how to read… the KJV doesn’t use the word “homosexual” anywhere. In fact, the words used in those verses (Leviticus, Romans, Corinthians, Timothy) are ambigious at best, and could mean almost anything, including heterosexuals who engage in certain behaviors. For example: For 1 Cor 6:9 the KJV uses “nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind”, while the NIV uses “nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men”, the Wycliffe Bible uses “neither lechers against kind, neither they that do lechery with men”, and the New Living Translation uses “or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,”… so which one is right? They are all saying something slightly different.

They are not ambiguous in the least. It says about men lying with men and women changing the natural use into that which should not be. Now tell me what is vague about that. Men with men working that which is unseemly and reaping within themselves the recompence…
God does not change; people do. God stays who he is. Man made the ‘contemporary’ idea of who or what he should be. He said what he said and meant what he meant for all time. He gave us Christ who left His Spirit here when he ascended in order that we may receive his Grace and Spirit into our hears and become like one with Christ. When that happens, people change and do try to live closer to Christ and to bring the witness out that is in them.

Just because you do not want to believe something does not make it the way you want it to be. I do believe God knows more than us and for us to try and make this into something other than the Truth is only being a stumbling block to those who would consider and desire the Truth. There can be no fence sitting and having it both ways for a tree lies where it falls.

Ah yes… a Romans 1 reference… if you read the full chapter, you find that Paul (the author) is talking about heterosexual couples who abandomed God and started worshipping idols, including abandoming the natural (for a heterosexual person) sexual relations for the fertility rites of same-gender relations that were common in the worship to several Roman and Greek “gods”… but then they would go home and continue their heterosexual lives.

Of course, Romans 2 starts with a rebuke of those who judge those who participate in those pagan rites… calling them guilty of doing the same thing. By using Romans 1 as a reference to homosexuality, you are playing right into Paul’s rebuke in Romans 2.

BTW — it is “un-natural” for a homosexual person to engage in heterosexual relations with someone of the opposite gender, just as it is “un-natural” for a heterosexaul person to engage in homosexual relations.

@TMARENDS: try the RSV (not the New RSV). it’s pretty close to the original Greek. here are 2 citations. there are more but lacking faith &/or the ability to read Greek, some try to rework the texts to exclude homosexuality. while these 2 can be rejected, their translation isn’t questionable unless one is a liar. I assume, TMARends, you’re honest. if you’re really honest, read Jude. for homosexuals, it’s scary.:
Romans 1:22-27 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man or birds or animals or reptiles. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.
1 Tim 1:9-10 – the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, immoral persons, sodomites, kidnapers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctr

@TMARends: you are choosing to misread Romans 1 & you know it. Verses 24-27: “God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.”

It’s clear Paul is explaining the existence of homosexuality. the lust after those of their own sex (women for women, men for men) comes when God “gives up” idolators & leaves them to their own devices. and, since you’ve revealed yourself to be a progressive (rather than an honest) biblical scholar (matters not whether amateur or professional), you can go to the Greek & read it there. the word “antimisthian” means retribution. Paul is saying as retribution for those who give up the truth for idolatry, God gives women up to lusting after women & men up to lusting after men. in the 2nd chapter of Romans, Paul is warning Christians that they too will fall into homosexuality if they become idolators. Paul didn’t write about fertility cults; he was a Jew

Yes… Romans 1 talks about idol worshippers… that’s all. It seems apparent that you have limited your research. If you actually study what those idol worships did as a part of that worship, you do indeed find that they engaged in homosexual ACTS… but it was always tied to that worship. This goes back into the OT. Leviticus is also talking about ACTS done as part of idol worship. If Paul used Leviticus (as many believe) as a reference for 1 Corinthians, and 1 Timothy, then those words (“sodomite” in you Timothy example), are also tied to idol worship.

BTW — The modern definition of “sodomite” would refer to ANYONE who engages in anal sex… including heterosexual couples.

AND — one cannot give up a lust that never existed.

There’s NOTHING in Jude about homosexuals… I have read and studied it many times.
