‘Fearing for My Life’: Shock Vid Shows NYC Teacher Bashing Student Against a Table & Onto the Ground

A parent is in shock after seeing video showing the security dean at the George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School literally throwing her son to the ground and slamming him against a table. The student, Kristoff John, is a 15-year-old freshman at the school where the incident between him and faculty member Stephan Hudson took place on March 6.

Teacher Stephan Hudson Under Fire for Allegedly Beating Kristoff John

A screen shot from the shocking video tussle.

Originally, Diane John thought her son was lying about having not done anything wrong when she first learned that he fought with a teacher at the school. But her views on the situation quickly changed once The New York Daily News contacted her with a shocking video showing the incident from start to finish.

Here’s how the Daily News describes the clip that brought a surprised and horrified response from the originally-doubting mother:

The exclusive video obtained by the paper shows the scrawny freshman taking a severe beating from a much larger teacher at the George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School in Brooklyn.

The video shows shop teacher and security dean Stephan Hudson grabbing the boy by his arm, throwing him to the ground and bashing him twice against a table.

At the end of the fight, the boy is apprehended by school cops.

According to John, the school told her that there was a “little incident” between her son and a teacher. Initially, she was told that officials were being generous in not punishing the boy, but after seeing the video, she’s demanding answers.

“They lied to me!,” she told the Daily News. “No one wants to see their son taken advantage of and beaten like this.”

As a result of the incident, Kristoff said his back was sore and that he couldn’t talk properly for days. The teen also claims that he “was fearing for my life” and that he was surprised the teacher hit him.

“I didn’t have time to think,” he said.

The spat started when the boy, who was late for class, attempted to push through the school’s entrance when his identification card failed to work properly. Hudson allegedly grabbed his arm, the boy pulled away and then Kristoff was apparently thrown to the ground and a scuffle ensued.

While her son has now left the school and returned to his native Grenada, the mother wants district officials — and police — to further investigate the incident (read the full details here).

Rightly or wrongly, it was the smartest thing for him to do. He now cannot be prosecuted here in the states. There was a murder case on one of the news shows recently where an innocent suspect was being TOLD by the police that he had committed the murder. He too wisely immediately moved to Europe where the U.S. could not viciously pursue him and frame him for the crime. Many years later the real murderer was captured.

No wonder kids are not being taught anything in school today. They have more cops/security in this school then teachers. I counted eight cops to handle one 15 year old.

In my Jr High, this would have been handled by one coach effectively and efficiently.

Just judging from the video, there was no apparent reason to physically subdue this kid in the first place.

If you look closely, you will notice that the first thing the teacher did was throw the kid into a table, which is mostly off-camera. Is that how you‘re supposed to treat school children who don’t follow oral commands?

After 30+ years as a street cop and corporate loss prevention manager, I have seen literally thousands of these videos. All the kid had to do was submit to the original request and not resist his physical detention. Any of the actions taken by the school personnel from that point forward is the responsibility of the kid.

How soon we forget the lessons of Columbine High School. This kid had no visible need to get all freaked out and violent with the authorities unless he was hiding something. The adults did exactly what they had to do to contain the situation. The kid made it harder than it had to be on himself by fighting everybody. The little punk is very very lucky the big guy didn’t put his lights out for him for fighting and swinging at him.. The punk was wrong……. get over it.

What I see is a skinny kid used to having his way try to ignore security’s request he stay in place. Instead he pushes through and that one dude pulls him back. The kid takes a swing, probably out of shock and embarrassment from being forcibly told no. The giant of a man may be 200 pounds or more larger than the kid, but that kid was pretty wiry and clearly the giant could not keep a hold on him. Even in the face of security and later police, the kid keeps fighting back instead standing down.

To me its one of those things that looks horrible on a silent video, but when in that situation, the kid not standing down made it a very dangerous situation. He is clearly still fighting to the end. That puts the security guard in a delicate scenario of either pounding he kid into the dirt (which he clearly could have and did not) or trying to maintain control.

He chose control, but when the individual keeps fighting back and not standing down, it becomes increasingly difficult in that school environment to do so. Any aches in pains the kid has (or says he has) are entirely his fault.

No way would I act the way that teacher did on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The student is going to responds to the teacher. If the teacher is calm the student will be calmer. The kid looks calmer than the teacher. What is happening is the student is eager to get to class. He is worried about getting in trouble. Should they just let him walk where ever he wants and not do anything? I think not. He should have waited where he was told to wait and not started fighting them. If a cop pulls you over, takes your i.d. and says stay here while I check you out are you gonna start your car and leave? He deserved a bit of man handling to get him under control. Also, he took a swing at the guy and the result of that is a good life lesson – your words and actions have consequences. Don’t take a swipe at someone unless you are ready to back it up. Don’t go crying like a little bi-otch if you strike out and get back more than you bargained for. I’m not sure that I would have shown the same restraint that the security guy did. “Feel lucky, punk? Grow a brain.
There may be more to this than revealed in the video, but from what was shown, the teacher sure has a lot of explaining to do. And TOMSAWYER is correct. The teacher needs to be the one to diffuse the situation, not escalate it. The teacher needs to be the adult.

The night it happened it was shown just once, and it showed King driving off the road onto a pulloff, with a cop car stopping about 20 feet past him. King leaped out of his car and attacked the first cop, who happened to be a woman 1/3rd his size, at which point more cops intervened to stop his attack, and then his beating ensued when he refused to stop fighting. End of story. King was garbage – but the TV stations who NEVER AGAIN showed the unedited video were worse. They fomented the whole controversy out of thin air just for ratings.

I’m unsure on this one because the kid could have been strung out, had a bomb, weapon, or trying to attack someone. It is my belief that if a crime is being perpetrated, then all force necessary to stop such crime should be used as reasonably expected. Yes, you must use some common sense (which is apparently lacking in public schools), however, if a fifteen year old came into a store and attempted to steal something and I held him and he did the same thing above, I would absolutely stop him with all necessary force (I would not shoot him unless I was in fear for my life, however, he would not be able to get away).

I do not believe that a child should have to have a “security card” in order to enter a school, leads me to believe that the community has issues that need to be dealt with first over and above this childs actions. It would appear that all the students and faculty live in fear of their life at this “school” every day and so maybe a more drastic approach is necessary such as home school or private school both from vouchers as once you pull at least 50% of the kids out, the school will no longer need the same funding.

What beating? He was restraining his aggression most of the time no punches thrown just trying to force him into the chair which he resisted hence the increase in force. Why do think kids have the mouths that they do? Rarely if ever serious consequences.

Even if that were true, how does that justify anyone, let alone an adult legally entrusted with the care of a student, to physically assault this boy? Answer: it doesn’t!

At the 21 sec mark the little thug, ah, I mean the little angel swung and struck the security guard long before the guard did anything but grab this future felon by the arm…… Glad he is back in Kenya ah, sorry, Grenada now…… Is it me, or is there a darn striking resemblance to Obamas son, if he had one.

He put himself in a mans place when he swung,so take the whuppin’ like a man. That would’ve preceded his trouble when he got home.

At the 17 sec mark, the huge fat TEACHER grabs the boy by the arm and forcefully swings him around against the portal side. Of course the boy reacted. Would you allow an a-h to manhandle you like that?

Why is everything suddenly about Obama? And race? I had no clue so many conservatives felt such disdain for young black boys. The reason so many of them end up in prison when they grow up is because the only role model they have are uncaring thugs.

The only difference between a liberal and you is that you call yourself a different name. That‘s what’s wrong with this country. You immediately associated this kid with Obama –> He is a punk, a future felon, etc. No different from the way liberals reason. You are an irrational moron.
