Fed Up NYC Business Owners Plan Counter-Protest Against Occupy Wall Street

The Occupiers claim to represent the 99%, but they can‘t even live in harmony with business owners just a stone’s throw away from their Zuccotti Park encampment.

In fact, local merchants are fed up with the antics of the Occupiers. And now they are fighting back: A counter-protest is planned by local business owners for the steps of New York’s City Hall.

Fed Up NYC Business Owners Plan Counter Protest Against OWS

After suffering through two months of endless drum circles, trashed bathrooms, public urination, and nearby sexual assaults caused by the Occupy Wall Street movement, small business owners have chosen to exercise their own First Amendment rights.

Fed Up NYC Business Owners Plan Counter Protest Against OWS

New York City Hall

They are sick and tired of suffering major financial losses and disrupted daily lives. Some have even been threatened by Occupiers, and they aren’t going to take it lying down.

Monday evening is just one part of a broader counter-protest effort. Business owners already have claimed they are “pursuing all options,” to deal with the Occupiers, ” including lawsuits against the city, the mayor and the private company that owns Zuccotti Plaza, the encampment headquarters,” according to WNBC-TV.

Mayor Bloomberg has been a particular target of criticism from the business owners. They feel he has been too lenient with the Occupiers and needs to stop making excuses for them.

At least one downtown Manhattan resident, Linda Gertsman, thinks the counter-protest has the force of law on its side.

“Laws are clearly being violated and we simply want them enforced,” she said.

WNYW-TV talked with local business owners about their displeasure:

As The Blaze reported over the weekend, business have lost close to half a million dollars because of the ongoing protest.

The event will start at 5 pm ET. The Blaze will be present and will report any developments.

I hope these small business owners remember to join the “Fire Obama” in 2012 since Obama has been noticeably silent with regard to the business community losing business- for a protest Obama supports. Who says Obama cares about Jobs? He doesn’t care about small business, do you really think he cares about the little guy jobs?

He has been saving the same Police, Fireman, Teacher and Construction worker jobs when he first got elected – HOW MANY TIMES ARE WE GOING TO SAVE THE SAME JOBS?

Why are these business people giving the dirty lefties what they want? Get lawyered up and file suit. Clearly the city has allowed illegal activity to take place with the occupation. Clearly the owners of Zuccotti park have allowed the protesters to set up camp there against park and city rules. SUE don’t protest.

Richmond Tea Party paid $8000.00 for events held at the same place as occupy richmond. The mayor allow the occupiers to camp at the park for 15 days until the city kick them out. From Moonbattery; Zuccotti Park, Ground Zero for the Occupy Wall Street moonbat infestation, is privately owned by Brookfield Office Properties. Why hasn’t Brookfield cleared the park of the thousands of stinking socialist hippies who have rendered it unusable by any normal citizen? This could offer a clue:

In the name of “green energy,” the Obama administration is using taxpayer money to subsidize a New Hampshire wind farm that is a subsidiary of a hugely profitable company.

New Hampshire’s largest wind farm, the Granite Reliable Power project under construction in Coos County, is jointly owned by BAIF Granite Holdings, LLC and Freshnet Wind Energy, LLC. BAIF owns 75 percent of Granite Reliable. BAIF Granite Holdings was created earlier this year by Brookfield Renewable Power, which is a subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management of New York.

Brookfield Asset Management is the parent company of Brookfield Office Properties, owner of Zuccotti Park.

What’s so pathetic is that the big cities are all drowning in debt due to the LIBERAL mental disorder that makes financial mathematics incomprehensible to those who suffer from it.

They may sue the cities… but the cities are broke. Their ability to govern is compromised. AND instead of allying themselves with hard-working business-minded people, the LIBERAL infected governments side with communists, rapists, and anarchist hippies those who offer no solutions.

    The irony is mind-blowing.

On October 11, 2011, Richard Clark, the company’s chief executive officer, sent a letter to New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly requesting to “clear the park” as its use by Occupy Wall Street “violates the law, violates the rules of the Park, deprives the community of its rights of quiet enjoyment to the Park, and creates health and public safety issues”. You get the government you deserve New York. Confrontation is what the OWSers want. Their numbers are not growing so the only way to keep the energy in the protests is by confrontation and violence. Rather than protesting, business owners should lawyer up and start filing suits against the city for allowing clearly illegal activity that’s affecting their businesses to continue. Forget the protesting..that’s what OWS wants. A word of warning…the tea parties should stay well away and have done so thus far. A city in the financial straits that New York is in should put a stop to anything which disrupat the normal business climate and destroys the tax revenue stream. Of course, not to mention the 3 to 4 million dollar price tag the city is having to foot paying police officers.
