Federal Employees Union Releases Ad Showing Repubs as ‘Tea Baggers’

A new low-budget ad claiming to be from the American Federation of Government Employees (a union) describes House Minority Leader John Boehner, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle, and RNC Chairman Michael Steele using a derogatory term.

The animated ad features the political figures in a crowd with a sign over their heads reading, “Tea Baggers Section”:

The ad is featured on the union’s YouTube account.

Working for government at any level is a privilege, not a right! Those folks work for the nation and its people. I believe in the right for people to organize for better pay and work benefits IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR ONLY! Outlaw government employee unions NOW!

Unions out lived their usefulness decades ago. They are now just another expense of doing business, like a tax. That’s why they are slowly receding in the private sector. A business can not compete when burdened with an expense that does not improve their income.

Public sector unions have the advantage of negotiating their benefits and pay with a politician and the taxpayers footing the bill. Like all unions, they are of no benefit to their employer, it’s just in the public sector, there’s no one to complain about the costs, except the taxpayer and they are always ignored until election time. (Like now!)
Only progressives like unions, because they return some of their ill-gotten gain to help elect and re-elect them. What better example then Barry our magnificent, unqualified President?

Maybe you could help me understand the relationship between unions in the private sector and the government? I don’t understand why companies continue to put up with it. can’t they fire union workers and hire non-union workers? And even if they choose to hire union workers why does government need to be involved? I‘m new to this whole deal and I just don’t get it.

to both.. now some private sector unions are of importance.. as are a few government ones.. such as how safe would you feel with an UNQUALIFIED person working as a FIREMAN..?? or a electrician?? or at a refinery? (now having unqualified people there could have WHOLE neighborhoods being wiped out.. some unions do MORE than just get benefits for their workers they make sure companies don’t work employees to many hours without time off.. which many times is the cause of HUMAN ERROR.. they make sure the companies follow safety rules many companies would not without someone looking over their shoulder.. They also make sure the workers are qualified think of a electrician who doesn’t know how to safely wire your home, business etc.. or a fireman who doesn’t know how to hook up a mask to someone who needs oxygen.. or a refinery worker who has no idea of how to read a gauge let alone know when ones NOT working properly..however MANY jobs where unions are present DO NOT require this kind of over site..

To increase the amount of money the government takes in, lower the tax rate on business owners . When business does well, the country does well. This will also allow them to hire more people. This is a fact, like the fact that communism is a failure. Now, the problem with our government’s budget is a differant subject. If you want more money for this program or that program, just stop adding new programs and freeze the amount spent on a bunch of the existing ones and yes get rid of a few of the most wasteful programs, and in a few years we would balance the budget. But, a balanced budget is much less needed than are jobs and a growing economy. The best way for government to help job creation is to get out of the way.

Okay, in the first place there should not be a federal employees union. They all work for us at our (taxpayer) discretion. We need to have local control of their resources to adjust as necessary to support our communities. These jobs should first go to military veterans and then to those on the unemployment roles. If we are already spending money on unemployment then they should at least be allowed to work for the communities that are providing their support.

The gov’t jobs should go to those who perform the job correctly and efficiantly. I don’t care if the person is a vet. If they don’t do the job right or are unable to do it properly then get rid of them and find someone who appreciates the job and who will do it. I work for the USPS and it is full of lazy “invalids” who have the protection of the union. There is, in fact nothing wrong physicaly with them, but they know how to scam the system with a union that will protect them. It is a prid pro quo system. The union protects the lazy liar and the lazy liar creates the “problem” that the union uses to justify it’s reason for being there.

Unionized government workers, wherehave you seen this before recently?

Welcome to Greece, France, Spain, Portugal and Britain – - – - All broke. No money to pay pensions yet unions strike to demand the citizens and businesses of their countries pay more and more taxes in order to accomodate THEIR retirement. If the countries can’t pay, they demand other countries pay it for them via the “World Bank” or by direct payments.

How soon will America be in the same boat? Well, several states already are! If the states can‘t meet the union’s retirement demands due to buget shortfalls, they expect the American taxpayers to pay their bills.

Welcome to failed socialist policies being instituted in America.

Glad to hear that you managed to avoid union membership while working for the Govt.

Government Employee Unions can be destroyed using a simple two step plan:
      1. Firmly establish that all government employees have a right to work outside of union membership in any public service position at any level (city, state, fed).
      2. Give the non-union workers the same pay and benefits using Health Savings Accounts and 401Ks

Non union workers will then instantly be better off then the union ones as they won’t be paying dues and will have control over their retirement and health accounts thus leading to a mass exodus from the unions by public service workers.

And sine the opprtunity for federal workers to unionize was by Executive Order, I would hope that any Obama conservative replacment and Congress would do away with federal emplyee uions–also by executive order and by a new federal law banning them altogether. And if federal workers go on strike fire them like Reagan did the Air traffic controllers, non of which ever go their jobs back.
