Federal Judge Among Those Killed in AZ Shooting

Federal Judge Among Those Killed in AZ ShootingPHOENIX (The Blaze/AP) — A federal law enforcement official says that a federal judge was fatally shot in the attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona.

U.S. Marshal for Arizona David Gonzales confirmed to the Associated Press that U.S. District Judge John Roll died in the attack Saturday.

Rolls was the chief judge in Arizona, appointed in 1991 by the first President Bush. He became chief judge in 2006.

KOLD in Tucson reports he was put under federal protection by U.S. Marshalls in 2009 after he received death threats in connection with a civil rights case he presided over.

Gonzales talked with Arizona Central in 2009 after Roll allowed a $32 million civil-rights lawsuit to proceed against a local rancher. The case was controversial because it was filed by illegal immigrants:

When Roll ruled the case could go forward, Gonzales said talk-radio shows cranked up the controversy and spurred audiences into making threats.

In one afternoon, Roll logged more than 200 phone calls. Callers threatened the judge and his family. They posted personal information about Roll online.

“They said, ‘We should kill him. He should be dead,’ ” Gonzales said.

Roll and his wife received the protection for about a month.

Gonzales offered no other details into the shooting.

Agree. Things are getting more and more twisted each day. Like being in a whirlpool during the spin cycle. Was born in 66′, have to believe that period was as just as twisted. Same cast of characters , but this time around its for all the marbles.

@HAM…. gotcha covered! Keep your eyes and heart open. GOD ALMIGHTY, MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, loves you enough, that if you were the only person on this earth, HE would have sent HIS ONLY SON JESUS THE CHRIST to die just for you. And that, my precious HAM, is the truth. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT YOU and amplify your search for HIM until you run smack dab into HIS loving arms. AMEN! Your friend now and in the forever.

It Matters Not What Your Politics Are,,, When A Nutjob Does This, He Deserves What He Will Get. If Anyone Knows What Happens To Anyone Who Harms A CHild, When They Enter Prison, This Nutjob Won’t Have To Drop His Soap. It Won’t Take That Long. Every Bite Of Food He Eats Will Have Been Spit Upon (At Best) And He Can NEVER Really Sleep. He May Not Be Mentally Deranged, But He’d Probably Be Better Off Dead, But Then He Will Have To Stand Before A Holy, Just, And Righteous God. He Best Give His Heart To Jesus, Cause Not Much Of The Rest Of Him Will Belong To Him.

Agree with your presumption. This talk radio jab, comes way to quick. Everything seems to fit into a nice little box. The revalution of the left cannot be deemed responsible by no means. But I do agree that incident needs to be examined closely.

I agree also. I cannot believe radio callers would have spoken violently, threateningly. Angrily maybe, but not threatening. That’s just not the way it is.

The left will get rid of talk radio and we will still continue to fund public radio and television and its far left agenda. Everything would right itself if we could just get the federal government doing the only job it was created to do and just happens to be the only job it is not doing……protecting our borders from illegals coming in with illnesses, drugs, and criminals.

THERE ARE OVER 7 MILLION BUREAUCRATS WORKING FOR FEDGOV. IT IS TIME TO LAY OFF BUREAUCRATS BY THE THOUSANDS. Let’s not forget the over-bloated FedGov workers. Every one that is at least 42 years old with 15 years of service to be RIFFed. Go and look how many people work in all the FedGov Departments. In 2001, for instance, there were over 100,000 in the Agriculture department. FedGov is not publishing how many they have now, so TELL YOUR LEGISLATORS TO LAY OFF BUREAUCRATS BY THE HUNDRED THOUSANDS!

@DAVEPOSH ~~ Thank you for the affirmation. Here is something I remembered this afternoon that is helping a little, from Galatians Chapter 6: “Do not be deceived, GOD is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap…And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON US; MAY HE STRENGTHEN US AND EMPOWER US with HIS LOVE and with HIS PRESENCE.

Every attempt is made by the liberal media to blame Glenn, Sarah and the Tea Party. In this case the guy was an atheist commie hippie but some day there will be a tragic shooing by a deranged person and the guy will fit the template and Obama will use it as a pretext to ban FNC and talk radio.
