Film Promises to Take a ‘Controversial New Look at Government Spending’

While America’s current state of affairs seems to be playing out like a metaphorical boxing match between the ideas of Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama, one new film is bringing the metaphor to life. Literally.

The clash of these ideological titans and their clashing views on how best to save America’s economy is the crux of a new film called “I Want Your Money.” In the movie, filmmaker Ray Griggs explains the country’s out-of-control spending, growing government and recent economic woes — a few very serious subjects. But don‘t think it’s all doom and gloom — Griggs inserts some satirical moments to lighten the mood, including one former president who lusts after the women around him:

While the film condemns the big-government spending habits of Democrats, it doesn’t let Republicans off the hook for their past government spending. The film includes commentary and analysis from a variety of conservatives, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, John Stossel, Stephen Moore, Ken Blackwell and Steve Forbes.
Filmmaker Ray Griggs has said he used animation in “I Want Your Money” because he wanted to educate young people about the deficit. The film will land in theaters later this month, presenting moviegoers with a choice between the “two paths” the U.S. can take — Obama‘s or Reagan’s.

After the film, viewers learn from Griggs that the national debt increased by $182 million during the 92-minute show. Watch the trailer:

Posted on October 10, 2010 at 8:21amMy guess is that you did not catch the fact that the film is going to depict two different philosophies: conservatism versus progressivism. In case you have not figured it out yet, Bush had progressive leanings. The people who are waking up to their conservative roots and protesting their out of control government do not like much of what Bush did either. Just to help you remember the conservative standpoint: BIG GOVERNMENT (not following the constitution as originally intended) BAD…… small government (following the original intent of the constitution with its intent on the government being limited to the 18 enumerated powers) good.

Posted on October 10, 2010 at 8:27amactually if you listen, and not real hard either, you will hear exactally where we need to cut. Foreign aid and endless wars are included. But, so is all your liberal “social” programs. Many will not like it in the beginning, but after a little while, even liberals can become productive members of society, just not our leaders.

Posted on October 7, 2010 at 6:37pmI beleive my man-crush on Regan is getting stronger every day. I was just a kid when I watched some of those speeches featured in the trailer, and it still gives me chills to see that man’s conviction and passion he had for his country and its people. We need to be electing people with that kind of heart and determination in every office in the land. Go ahead, trolls, take your shots at my bromance. Regan is looking down on this nation right now, waiting for us to take our nation back once more.

Posted on October 7, 2010 at 6:18pm“The Gods Of The Copybook Headings”
By Rudyard Kipling
AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.
We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.
We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.
With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.”
On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “The Wages of Sin is Death.”
In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “If you don’t work you die.”
Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.
As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
Report Post »When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

Report Post »Legend has it that one evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee replied, “The one you feed.”

I wouldn’t label either of them as “titans”. Ronny was just a good old American that tryied to do what was best for his contry. It does not take a “titan” to do that, and Obama, a titan? Don’t think so.
“it doesn’t let Republicans off the hook for their past government spending”

When you do something for others on your own, the government knows you have more to give them (the government).
When they take it from you, and give it to the same (or usually different) people, it is spreading the wealth.

Posted on October 7, 2010 at 5:08pmInflation – stealth taxation
Inflation is not a recent phenomenon. During the 19th Century the inflation rate in the United States was 12% for the entire Century. In 1800, $0.89 had the purchasing power of $1.00 in 1900, a change of about 12% in 100 years. From 1900 to 2007 the inflation rate was about 25 to 1, a change of 2500% in 107 years. A Google search lists over 20 pages of “inflation calculators” three of the most popular inflation calculators list the inflation rate of between 24.6 and27.71 from 1900 and 2007. In other words, $1.00 in 1900 was worth around $25.00 in 2007.
What happened? In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s four factors emerged that caused inflation to increase. These are:
• Creation of the “Fourth Branch of Government” the Bureaucracy
• Enacting and enforcing the Sherman Antitrust Act.
• Creation of the Federal Reserve
• Enacting the income tax
• Wars
How did these factors cause such erosion in the value of the dollar? Chapter 9 of “21st Century Common Sense” explains in simple terms how these factors produced inflation of the dollar and aided the “Wannabe Peers” in usurping our freedom. http://commonsense21c.com/
