Filmmaker Tells Beck a Scott Walker Recall Would Discourage Lawmakers From Standing Up to Unions

The Blaze already provided a sneak-peek at Tuesday evening’s upcoming Real News Special Report, “Showdown Wisconsin,” from filmmaker Ami Horowitz. The program will focus on the recall effort the left is currently waging against beleaguered Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and will air on GBTV at 6:00 p.m. ET. Glenn Beck took time during his Monday evening broadcast to speak with Horowitz about the film, and the challenges currently facing the Wisconsin Republican.

Horowitz noted that if the left is successful in its recall bid, the move will send “chills” across the nation and dissuade conservative lawmakers from standing up to the power and influence of labor unions. The message conservatives would take away, according to the filmmaker, is that doing the right thing is a punishable offense.

According to Horowitz, Walker has made great strides in growing jobs and turning his state’s economy around. If recalled, he fears it is a sign that America could go the way of Europe.

Watch below as Beck and Horowitz discuss Showdown in Wisconsin.

It was mentioned on the radio show that the unions spent $100 million for this recall effort.
When are the rank and file members going to ask, wait a minute if the unions can spend this kind money on all these political campaigns and extravagant trips and luxurious homes and lavish life styles for the union bosses, why couldn’t we use that money to fund supplemental health care premiums for the regular members to help offset having to actually help pay for the state (read taxpayer) funded health care? I’ll tell you why, the regular members are cowards who are bullied by the few thugs who are in your face. If you even ask these types of questions you and or your family are marked for harassment by the slave dog enforcers. You’ve seen them, the same ones that cuss 13 year old students, or beat down men in wheel chairs with spittle punctuated rants spewing out of their foul mouths. Just keep following the sheep you damn cowards and kiss your kids goodnight. Maybe they will have the courage and souls you lack. Prove me wrong!
Take your lives and what you earn from YOUR labors back from the thugs and crooks, or just keep saying Baa-Baa, here’s MY money and my freedom.

A recall of Scott Walker would be a signal to Cons that getting elected to office isn’t a blank check to do whatever crackpot thing you want without fear of consequences. Too bad, people, this is a democracy, and the people of Wisconsin are about to speak loud and clear in their rebuke of conservative b.s.

I know people who are saying that the only way to stop walker is a bullet between the eyes, which they are not really that wrong. Walker will keep going and i want him to. He should, he is the first gorvernor to have the balls to do what he did. Walker should be god, hell, walker for president. But if he gets recalled, then there will be a recall “war”. Because the left hates walker, the right will hate who ever takes his place.

It is a trespass on the property rights of the business owner be it a sole proprietor or stockholders. In a truly free society a contract derived from such violence would be null and void.

It seems that all this talk about right and wrong is misguided. In society, what the majority thinks is what is right. In the middle east it’s wrong to have premarital sex. It’s punishable by death. Whereas in the US it’s wrong to kill someone for such menial behavior. Whether Walker is wrong will decide on the voters. If they vote him out their wishes should be respected the same way that GW Bush was fairly elected into the white house before he broke the nations back. Idiots abound all around and they make stupid decisions like those who voted for and still defend GW Bush. However if we choose to be a nation of imbaciles who‘s to say it’s wrong as long as majority rules. If a majority of the people can be brainwashed by Bush or Romney or Sarah Palin, then why shouldn’t they cowtow to the unions.
“You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but a fool and his party are big money”

Boris… Individuals who support smaller government and more freedom are not the ones who are being brainwashed and are definately not the ones going along with the crowd because the majority are right. Your logic shows that you are easily controlled by what’s popular, which history as shown us is not always right, correct and just.. The real truths, freedoms, rights, are self evident, unchanging and don’t bend to the whims of the majority. If you were in a room with a large group of people that believed you didn’t have the right to life, liberty and property, by your logic, that would make them in the right and you in the wrong and the forfeit of your life, liberty and property okay. But it’s not. Regardless of the majority. Please stop and think about what right and wrong really are… True rights are universal and do not change with the opinions of anyone.

I see, Boris…Like when the racist mob of blacks attacked, robbed, then stripped the white guy in Baltimore. They were the majority. Right, Boris? Besides, wasn’t Walker elected by “the majority.”

Boris..”In the middle east it’s wrong to have premarital sex. It’s punishable by death. Whereas in the US it’s wrong to kill someone for such menial behavior.’

Boris…”Whether Walker is wrong will decide on the voters. If they vote him out their wishes should be respected the same way that GW Bush was fairly elected………”
Walker was “fairly elected”, Boris. Are you saying that if someone who is elected does something like (in Walker’s case) make a state financially solvent and bring in jobs ,and if that bothers some, then the people’s wishes who voted for Walker do not need to be respected?

Boris…” If a majority of the people can be brainwashed by Bush or Romney or Sarah Palin, then why shouldn’t they cowtow to the unions.”
Boris, because the unions are paid by (visualize Sam Kinneson here) THE TAXPAYERS! We can’t afford their salaries, pensions, and paying them thousands for sick days not used when they retire. OH-OH-OH-OH!

The entire recall is a farce!

Here is what people, here in Wisconsin, just don’t understand: It doesn’t matter if Scottie Walker gets recalled or not. Act 10 isn’t going anywhere. The public (emphasis on public) unions HATE act 10, because it crushes them. But the Counties, municipalities, and school districts LOVE Act 10. No governor, in the foreseeable future will be able go back to labor union controlled local governments. Act 10 includes ALL state union folks (except some police and fire), and allows for Counties, municipalities, and school districts to choose for themselves to keep with unions. Even Democrat districts are pounding the unions, because it saves them money. Money they can use to pay off local debt, put towards special interest projects (which helps them get re-elected), or put into a “rainy-day” fund.

If the recall succeeds, small business and individuals will be the tagets of retribution, by way of crazy tax-hikes!

In just the last six months, Governor Scott Walker and the legislature:

Passed a state budget (2011 Act 32) on time, without tax increases, that leaves Wisconsin in the black for the first time in over a decade:

*Turned a $3 billion deficit into a $300 million surplus

*Instituted the first permanent property tax cap in our state’s history

*Cut bonding (state borrowing) by nearly 20 percent

*Cut more than 1,000 government jobs, including 735 long-term vacancies

*Paid off its $60 million debt owed to Minnesota under the former tax reciprocity agreement between the states (2011 Act 32)

*Paid back the $200 million from Gov. Doyle’s unconstitutional raid of the Patients Compensation Fund (2011 Act 32)

*Enacted sweeping business tax reforms that will save Wisconsin’s job creators over $130 million a year when fully implemented.

      Results:

*In the first 6 months of 2011, Wisconsin showed job growth more than twice the national rate

*88% of Wisconsin businesses say the state is on the right track, up from 10% a year ago

*53% of businesses of all sizes predict they will add jobs and increase wages in the next 12 months1

The Budget Repair Bill (2011 Act 10) gave schools and other local governments the tools to control their budgets without sacrificing services:

*MacIver Institute: “Wisconsin Schools Already In Line to Save Hundreds of Millions of Dollars”; maciverinstitute.com; July 13, 2011
