In an interview following the Wisconsin Senate‘s vote to strip away state workers’ collective bargaining privileges, Republican state Sen. Glenn Grothman told Fox News’ Greta VanSusteren Wednesday evening that Republican lawmakers had been instructed to leave the state capital because “it was not safe.”
“We left the capitol about 15 minutes after the vote under police protection because there was an angry mob,” Grothman said. “We were told to get out of Madison as quickly as possible.”
In the meantime, members of the State Assembly plan to convene at the capitol Thursday to “finish the job,” Grothman added. According to Grothman, the GOP chose to act Wednesday after being “led on” by Democrats that there would be an eventual compromise. “If no one is going to do it, then we had to go on without them,” he said.

Posted on March 10, 2011 at 2:17amI’m watching the reruns on MSNBC. It’s hilarious. The Dem Senators are painting Gov. Walker as a radical, extremist with the tiniest (yes, tiniest) amount of support from the People of Wisconsin. They’re making up outlandish stories about him – like he’s given himself the power to dissolve any political Office, or Town or City in the State.
One nitwit on another show called for solidarity because “there’s more of us then of them”. These people are delusional.

Posted on March 10, 2011 at 1:26amOnce voted on by the House and signed by the governor it becomes law and the Senate dimocrats will have no reason to continue to obstruct any fiscal bill bill by being AWOL. While absent they gave up their right to use the legislative process to put their point of view forward. They have nobody to blame but themselves for being absent from the state for any actions taken while they were. Got to love this irony. Unions are good only for private industry and not for public employees. If those who work as “public servants” wish to collectively bargain, then go work for a private company that you can bankrupt and everyone loses their job when they close, or be reasonable in your requests and everyone makes more, stockholders and workers. But in that case you can‘t bribe the board of directors unless you own stock because they don’t accept campaign donations, but elected politicians do. That’s bribing the people who you bargain with and guess what, you got better pay and benefits than the private sector, even with private sector unions…besides that, now public employees now get to use their FREE CHOICE to either continue to pay union dues or NOT PAY and still keep their job, rather than having to pay without any option not to.

As far as the 24/2 hour rule, they clearly have cause to use the 2 hour rule, they were missing 14 of 33 members, and state business had been stopped because of the cowardice of people unwilling to face the fact that they would lose a vote. Personally I think this will lead to some amendments in various state constitutions to make it illegal for a caucus to flee the state to obstruct a vote.

Posted on March 10, 2011 at 1:48amHouse Dems Coordinate On Town Hall Meetings, Protesters
By Brian Beutler – August 5, 2009, 1:23PM
Moments ago, House Democrats concluded a caucus conference call to discuss, among other things, strategy for dealing with the new, potentially hostile, environments at town halls in their districts. I’ll fill in the blanks with more info as it becomes available, but the long and short of it is that–astroturf or not–the news early this week served as a wake up call to Democrats, and over the last 24 hours or so they’ve been coalescing around a strategy for managing their events, and advancing their recess message, with or without interruptions.
Late update: On the call, Democrats agreed to push ahead with August plans and messages. Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) recounted his run-in with rowdy protesters to prepare members who haven’t been accosted for what to expect and how to react. Just an overview.

Posted on March 10, 2011 at 1:12amI guess this makes clear what the democratic agenda is. They have no respect for the rule of law, the constitution or even the will of the people. They were defeated in an election so instead of performing their duties they leave the state to prevent the state legislature from going forth. The democrats would not even have the numbers they do if it were not for union money supporting them. Unions can bus people in from across the country to act like thugs for them and try to frighten people because they have union members dues to pay for it with. Unions and Democrats are ruining this country and it needs to be stopped now. This has nothing to do with rights, it has to do with the tax payer being held hostage by corrupt unions. Stop the union support of elected officials!

Wikopedia? Rolling stone article about a guy claiming GB is stealing his material?? Get real…
I suppose it explains your weird (my opinion) take on so many of the articles here you post to. As far as your comments that the democratic senators’ staff is busy working… sorry, that doesn’t cut it by a mile… they weren’t elected to vote. If they (republicans) broke the law, which one was that? Open meeting? 2 hours notice instead of 24? Show me the law and I‘ll believe it otherwise I’ll believe it was a hell of a lot less that the crap Obama/Pelosi/Reid pulled by ramming through his health plan… which the republicans did NOT block by the way… they may have wanted to, but all of 2010 was spent twisting arms of their own party and buying them off to get the votes. They still had to ram it through at the last minute with a legislative “trick” not a vote of any kind. Legislative maneuvers are not the sole property of the democrats. You are very hypocritical in my view, but then, I’m sure you will never see it.

Right on the money, with the Democrats out of the way, the administration can lay the blame for the first usage of violence and force on the conservatives, and if he needs them to be blamed, upon the unions when he slams them in the back with a fist of iron.

It really may be a good thing that the White House isn’t saying anything. Every time the O opens his mouth, things fall apart a bit more.
The last time I saw him talk or comment on camera, he looked absolutely drained. He’s the perfect example of the Peter Principle — the emporer’s clothes are empty. He‘s moved into a job that he can’t handle. He’s no leader. He’s no president. He should have stayed on the campaign trail (and never got off of it).

________________________________________________________________
Perhaps. If they look the same as your alleged Tea Party demographic then they must draw from the same pool. (your logic; I think it’s flawed but hey, let us see where this goes..)
So you accept that the TEA party is not racist, nor fringe, but represents a rather large segment of the population. Then the only difference between the Wisconsin protestors and the Tea Party protestors are their actions, true? One protests peacefully AND respectfully, while actually policing itself and event participants. The other pre-meditates acts of disruption and civil disobedience, while courting organizations dedicating to bringing down the American Government. [see: Communists. (Socialists should be included, IMO.)]
Actions speak louder than words.

Though I can’t speak for VENOM, but I’ll take a stab at what I think he is feeling….
We’ve watched the socialist radicals and militant blacks riot; we‘ve seen women’s ‘rights’ groups institute murder in the form of abortions; militant ‘retributionists’ force quota’s in hiring and promotions (instead of thru merit); we’ve witnessed gays, not content with civil unions, want to call gay unions ‘marriage’. But wait, theres more…….
We‘ve built housing project after housing project for the ’poor’, only to see them destroyed by people who not only do not appreciate it, but have been taught that it is their ‘right’. Then, to top it off, those housing projects become havens for gangs…gangs that were born out of the lack of family structure in the black families because the programs us taxpayers were forced to support failed.
We‘ve witnessed forced busing to integrate schools that were going to achieve ’equality of results’, then watched as that experiment has failed to improve test scores of the blacks that ‘only needed to be in better schools’. Now, after billions and billions of taxpayer dollars for all those ‘better schools’, black students continue to fail. To boot, in Philadelphia, blacks attack Asian students out of racial hatred. That hatred isn’t called out in the media. Instead, it is never mentioned that those attacks could possibly be racially motivated. This all brings me to………..
What we see in Wisconsin. The US has been on a collision course with reality for decades. There’s no question in my mind that collaborative efforts to take down this country from within were well planned out. Wm. Ayars, Piven, Cloward were early conspirators, but there were many others. Now, we see Soros, the media, the now openly Socialist Democratic Party, and labor unions join the fray.
The entitlement mentality has even infected public employees. Their wages, medical plans, and cushy pensions without contributions cannot be sustained. We can’t afford any of this.
I can only imagine that is what VENOM is feeling, but for me, I know damn sure that is how I feel. If the radicals who want to ‘fundamentally transform’ America want to continue their quest, we may well have that ‘war’.
