Firebombed? Seattle Bank of America Hit with Improvised Explosive Ahead of Possible ‘May Day’ Action

Police are investigating an improvised explosive device that was chucked through the window of a Bank of America in Seattle, Washington late Wednesday night.

According to police, the perpetrators threw a bottle filled with gasoline through the bank’s window, but luckily, the fire did not spread and no one was injured.  They are treating the matter as attempted arson.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but reports speculate that it could be connected to vociferous anarchist calls for shutting down Seattle ahead of “May Day” on May 1st.

Puget Sound Anarchists, in particular, are seemingly actively involved in the effort, having made a video, posters, and a “what to expect in Seattle on May Day” section on their website.

In line with recent Bank of America attack, their website also celebrates a “Large rock and molotov thrown at Wells Fargo – Portland,“ which was evidently done in memory of ”an artist and trans/queer femme of color who recently killed herself“ because of the ”cissexist (sic), femmephobic, racist, and transmisogynistic society” we live in.

They conclude:

Solidarity to all those queers, people of color, and other folks who are marginalized, imprisoned and policed in the interest of vile financial institutions such as Wells Fargo.

WE QUEERS MAKE TOTAL DESTROY! F*ck all of the institutions which systematically subject us, churches and banks alike!

Puget Sound Anarchists also write of a prior attack on a Seattle Bank of America, though in this case the perpetrators only vandalized the building.  In the case, the perpetrators also warned of “May Day.”

Under the section “What to Expect on May Day in Seattle,” their site reads:

May Day is a chance for individuals or crews to take direct action in any way they see fit. That being said the general goal of May 1st is the shutdown of the city, so small autonomous groups need to plan and prepare themselves for whatever sort of activity they decide to undertake. These crews are not only based on a deep reciprocal knowledge and trust of each other, but on a shared recognition of a comparable amount of risk each individual is willing to take.

Think about recognizing unforeseen possibilities and openings and be ready to take advantage of them and don’t be afraid to be spontaneous. Rather than being satisfied with a position at any given moment, think about how to expand, don’t just see what has been accomplished but look for ways to extend liberated space or disruptive actions. At the same time, try to gauge a crowds anger and combativeness and recognize when it will have your back as well as when it is time to help with defense, but never limit your actions to what you think the crowd will approve of. In general be creative and experimental with what and how you get things done.

No one really knows what to expect this May Day but you can be sure that it will be whatever the rebellious ones who act this May 1st make it.  [Emphasis added]

And while their promotional video for May 1st begins with unexpectedly bad music and the usual calls for a general strike, it ends with scenes of cities on fire and corporations being ransacked by mobs:

Locals are seemingly unhappy about the improvised explosive at Bank of America, one saying: “You know the city needs to be safer than that…with people running around bombing like terrorists and stuff.  This is Seattle, Washington this [isn't] Iran or Iraq.”

Though police have joined forces with FBI and ATF agents to determine who exactly is responsible, reports say they have no suspects are continuing the investigation.

      The people behind this chaos are described as “smart,” but I’m wondering how smart anybody is who wants to bring down a system and replace it with one that is a proven loser and proof of that is right in our faces in Europe, which is imploding right now, with Spain, Italy, Greece, Ireland and Portugal all in a depression right now, and Britain is in its second recession.

      Add to that display of failure the fact that this country also is imploding also, albeit at a slower rate, but imploding all the same.

      Where is the monetary base coming from that will support what they want, which apparently is free education, free health care, free housing and free food, if capitalism is converted to socialism?

      Even in the best of times….as displayed by the European model….the system just doesn’t work.

      I’m for holding the corporate crooks and crooked politicians accountable, but these people are total idiots, and their “brilliant” strategists are a bunch of dummies that are only going to accomplish bringing us closer to severe depression.

    at first you think – Ha Ha BofA, what comes around goes around – but violence should never be allowed or accepted as a way to get a groups point across for political reasons – there are real people behind those bank doors – moms, dads, neighbors – are we to just start killing people because we don’t like them or their believes?? – my gosh, it seems we can’t even gather at a sporting event without hearing about some innocent dad getting his head bashed because he rooted for the other side.       I don’t like Bank of America. I think they are unethical, and I try to avoid having anything to do with them. HOWEVER, like you, they do have a right to do business and the people that work in that bank are people who are trying to earn an honest living. The anarchists are free not to go there, not to do business with them, but they are NOT free to damage the bank’s property or harm anyone.

      I find it interesting that they always want to destroy stuff and expect other people to clean up after them. For the life of me, I can‘t figure out why they don’t all pick some abandoned town, settle there to happily live in their filth and squalor and leave the rest of us alone.

      i’m just outside of portland….you couldnt pay me to go anywhere near there in the upcoming months. i have also cancelled a trip i had planned with my daughters to go to dc over the summer, i dont think that there will be a major city that will be unaffected by the nonsense that is being planned.

    Discussed is the case of a 45-year old woman with vaccine-induced subcutaneous pseudolymphoma, a type of skin lesion characterized by collections of lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells in the skin. The researchers performed a skin biopsy at the injection site and found aluminum (AI) deposits in her macrophages. When the skin sample was assayed for AI and quantified, it was found to contain 768.1 micrograms per gram, dry weight, versus 5.61 and 9.13 in two control patients – up to 153-fold higher concentrations.

    The report cautioned: “Given the pathology of this patient and the high Al concentration in skin biopsy, the authors wish to draw attention when using the Al salts known to be particularly effective as adjuvants in single or repeated vaccinations. The possible release of Al may induce other pathologies ascribed to the well-known toxicity of this metal.”

      Parents will have to stand together and refuse vaccines. I seam to recall a report that said most of are vaccines are made in China now…………hum they put lead in our toys and furniture and poison in dog food why not in vaccins?

      Aluminum is not a requirement for our bodies. During my chemo/radiation for stage 3 breast cancer, I was told to discontinue my underarm deodorant because of aluminum was one of the ingredients. I try & stay away from food products that list aluminum as an ingredient especially boxed bakery items you mix & bake yourself. Years ago there was the aluminum scare linked to alzheimers. I don’t have a clue…just know aluminum is an un-natural & NOT a requirement for our bodies.

    Hmm – the post I just tried to respond to was deleted…odd.

    What they had said was something to the effect of, “Let’s hold off on elections until all of this violence has toned down.” (Which I’m sure was meant as sarcasm)…to which I was equally sarcastically going to state, “Yeah – especially since we can’t verify the validity of the polls since the rioters broke into the place housing the ballot, and we can’t rely on them now – besides there is evidence that there was an awful lot of voter fraud, so we better just throw the whole thing out and vote again at some undecided date in the future.”

      @CatB – look at it, improvised explosive device – in will come the feds of ATF and FBI and Homeland Insecurity/terrorism enforcement of Obama; this will probably be played as an effort by the ‘christian, radical right racist tea party’ to initiate warfare and strife with the Occupy band.

      The door has been opened now for Obama to step in, and we may be seeing history repeat itself.

      Serves BOA right for cancelling the accounts of the firearms manufacturer McMillan Group International. You get what you deserve! You, BOA are anti Second Amendment and you want to pander to the Occupy Wall Street movement.

      Oh, BOA, I have 2 accounts with you. If I don’t hear that you have restored ayour relationship with McMillan Group, I will be cancelling those accounts and moving them elsewhere. I hope everybody follows suit.

      @STARMAN .. I had an account with them .. went in to close it when they were giving Mexicans accounts without having to have any I.D. They were the RUDEST people I have ever dealt with .. would NEVER deal with them again .. I started out telling them I knew it wasn’t the people who worked at the banks policy … and that I would not be banking with them until they changed their policy .. and they made me wait over an HOUR for a check ( I think she actually went to LUNCH!) .. when I finally got my money I told them I would NEVER deal with them again and that WAS their fault!

      I just hope the FBI and the police are monitoring these idiots . Sorry that our tax money has to be spent on these criminals.
