Fired For Being Over-Exposed: Reporter Sarah Tressler Fired for Stripping

Journalists, as a general rule, hate to let themselves become the story. However, there are exceptions, and one of them has just left the Houston Chronicle’s newsroom. Her name is Sarah Tressler, and she is a high society reporter with a degree from NYU who just happens to also rock the pole in a pair of six-inch heels and not terribly much else:
Tressler‘s firing hasn’t left her down and out, though – quite the opposite, in fact. She doesn’t seem to care at all. Describing herself as a “stripper-professor” (she’s an adjunct professor at the University of Houston), Tressler says she makes more than enough money as a stripper to get by.
And if you’re curious what exactly that experience entails, never fear – Tressler keeps her own blog about the experience of taking clothes off for money. There are also warnings on the blog toward any men who might think of dating a stripper – according to Tressler, it’s not as cool as you might think. Here are some of her reasons:
8. If you don’t like us dancing, you better be prepared to support our lifestyle. Otherwise, we don’t want to hear your bitching.
9. We’re kind of manipulative, even if we’re not trying to be.
10. Don’t get in without an iron-clad way to get out. Or you’ll lose your house (and/or wife, and/or sanity).
Gawker, meanwhile, ponders the deep existential question of whether being a reporter or being a stripper is more shameful. They lean towards reporter. What do you think? Weigh in below.

Posted on April 4, 2012 at 1:12pmI have been to few gentleman’s clubs in my day, and from my experience the young women who choose to take their clothes off for money do so because the money can be in the 10′s of thousands of dollars a month. You can tell the ones who see it as a means to make fast easy money while they put themselves through college, and the ones who are there to fund their lavish lifestyles and drug habits. Sadly it’s true that the latter of the two will more than likely advance into the porn business, the the Stripping itself isn’t the main reason for that. Growing up in a broken family, one where neglect and/or violence is prevalent and substance abuse is taking place is a much greater factor for whether a woman will enter the porn industry. I have meet a few very wise women who are a bit of an exhibitionist and are using stripping to further their other life’s goals and realize that they can achieve those goals much quicker by being an exotic dancer.

It’s private. but just as people of faith can’t ignore their faith when they enter the public forum, people who deny their own/others dignity part time, don’t stop denying it outside the “gentlemen’s” club. gentlemen care for women, protect them from being used by cowardly, base cads. gentlemen have virtue & treat women w/ respect. mostly, they value a woman’s virtue.
in my birth county, as well as in many Latin American countries, rich families hire young girls as maids. those girls are used by the teenage boys & men in the household for sex. when the girls become pregnant, they are thrown out w/ no money & no help. that too is private. & the rich men are called “gentlemen.” but they’re really cads. they’re cowards, weak creatures w/o the courage to deny themselves or care for women. American men who use women visually &/or physically are just as bad. if you want sex or to enjoy a woman’s nude body, get married. otherwise, ask God for the grace to help you live with your desires w/o using women.
as for the stupid women who expose themselves for money, value yourselves today. be worth more than money. work your way through school but do it while maintaining your God given dignity. I did it. many young women do. it‘s not easy but it’s worth it. don’t sell yourself for a better future. don’t deny your dignity for a dream. be valuable now

(might be the makeup though… :) If humans weren‘t so very weirded out by female nudity it wouldn’t be such a big deal.
