‘F**k You!…I Hope You Get AIDS’: Man Loses It After News Crew Catches Him Illegally Parking

Illegal Handicapped Parker Tells Reporter He Hopes He Gets AIDSIf you illegally park in a handicapped spot and are caught do you a) apologize and move your car; b) explain that it’s a misunderstanding; or c) absolutely lose it with the news crew that just caught you and tell the reporter you hope he gets AIDS? If you’re the guy below, you choose “c.”

The local CBS affiliate in Philadelphia was doing a special report on people who find it okay to park in handicapped parking spots even if they’re not handicapped. It caught plenty of people. Some were contrite, some played dumb, and then there’s this guy.

“Fu** you,” he said when confronted, before later adding “I hope you get AIDS” and adding plenty more expletives:

The report has plenty of other nuggets. For example, multiple city employees — one who even writes tickets for this sort of offense — doing the same thing:

The I-Team even caught a Philadelphia Parking Authority van illegally parked in a handicap loading zone, blocking an accessibility ramp. When confronted, the PPA shift supervisor denied that she was parked illegally.

“This is not a handicapped ramp here,” she told the I-Team’s Ben Simmoneau – even though the van was clearly parked on blue striped lines, blocking a ramp to the sidewalk.

She wasn’t the only PPA worker we saw parking illegally at that Center City strip mall. Another PPA employee pulled into the same loading zone and got out of her car but suddenly had a change of heart when she saw our camera. She quickly pulled out and drove away.

The I-Team also saw a city of Philadelphia employee, driving a city-owned van, pull into the same handicap loading zone. As soon as she saw the I-Team’s cameras waiting, she came out and moved her van.

“I said ‘Let me come out and move the car.’ I just looked out and said ‘Son, look where I parked I’m going to go move the car,” she told us.

“You’re saying you did not know this was marked, even though there are all these blue stripes?” asked reporter Ben Simmoneau.

“’Cause I was talking to my son, we were looking in the window, so I just pulled in. No I did not,” she said.

The story does have a great ending for those who seek justice. Both city employees are being investigated — one has already been identified and the city says she will be disciplined. And how about the guy who cursed out the reporter? We’ll let CBS explain:

Even though the I-Team watched him get out of his silver Honda Civic, he refused to admit that was his car. Instead, he tried to wait us out – keeping his car in the spot for more than two hours.

It ended up costing him, though: a police officer wrote him a $300 ticket.

Now that’s a great story.

At three hundred bucks a pop they could pay for a cop’s salary just from the parking tickets at that location and still be able to get enough money to apply to their budget shortfall.

Shouldn‘t even have those ’special’ parking spots.

First, I‘m tired of the handicapped always saying ’treat us the same, no different than you would treat anyone else’… then demanding special treatment.

Second, most of the people with handicapped stickers are not even handicapped, they’re overweight, fat, obese slugs, that continue to abuse the system.

@The_Jerk, Even with a cane, walking is very difficult for me. Yet I have never used a handicapped parking place and have never complained about special access. I have always wanted to save these life saving spaces for someone who needs them more, even though they get used by people like you with no disabilities. But because I know how difficult it is for me now to walk long distances to get to stores now, I anticipate needing these spaces in the future. Don’t sweat it though, thanks to jerks like you, I won’t use them until absolutely necessary.

      @THE_JERK

You always manage to live up (down) to your name.

You state “most of the people with handicapped stickers are not even handicapped, they’re overweight, fat, obese slugs, that continue to abuse the system.”
Is this a result of some in-depth survey conducted by you, or is “most” just a word that thoughtlessly came spilling out of that gaping hole in the middle of your face? Like atheists in foxholes, I’m sure you would quickly turn into the loudest complainer were you to become disabled.

@The_Jerk – Many handicapped people become over-weight because they can not exercise – HurDurr! This could explain why your head is so FAT… You have a mental handicap, and thus it prevents you from exercising cognitive thinking.

Hey, JERK — I‘m one of those handicapped persons who ’demand special treatment’ — I would like to see you try to walk across a half-acre parking lot when you have to stop to catch your breath ev ery 20 feet or so!!!!!!

Or perhaps you would like to wheel your wheelchair across that same (now snow-filled) lot in the winter!!!!!!!!!

And then there is the return trip to the car with your purchases!!!!!!!!!

I’m with the jerk. I would just add that the special spots are just one of dozens of mandated regulations that are un-American and need to go. The private business owner can decide whether he wants to provide such parking spots or not. In typical fashion, when the govt forces someone to do what it thinks is right, all you get are a bunch of empty spaces. If you have a problem, solve it yourself. It‘s not the govts or anyone’s job to force anyone to cater to you.

The Jerk is absolutely correct. 8 or 9 out of 10 people with handicap signs are fat, lazy and despicable people. This is my biggest pet peeve– one thing no one has addressed is this. This handicap parking policy is part of the Americans with disabilities act, a liberal idea that sounds great at first blush, but like all their social engineering type ideas degrades into a scam that gets utilized by people with no need while people with need go without.

Most were dropped off, if possible like my dad did for mom. Later when she was using two canes and needed both hips replaced, the disabled cards and parking became a dream for her. Lastly she was in a wheelchair and actually got to go more places. She was very gratefull for it. My dad lived to 95 and never used one. I qualify, but won‘t use one because I’m afraid if I stop walking and doing I will loose my ability to do what I want. Time may come though-I pray it won’t. I see obvious misuse all the time, and I wonder if they get that they are using a space someone who really needs it could use. I think the cards are given out a little freely. Just my opinion.

The “one size fits all” solution of simply forcing every business to provide the spaces seems wrong. If you want to provide spaces, great. If not, also great. Public pressure and written letters can change minds. Help can come to people in a variety of forms.

Watching severely obese people park in these spots is ridiculous. You’re fat, because you don’t walk enough.

Cities like Philadelphia & its Parking Authority use the money to hire more employees. Increase the size of government.

Most citation fines go to a general fund for the state and county, then sprinkled back to the city. In government coffers, it is wasted on liberal welfare programs to promote hatred of white people by minority groups.

I always drive my handicap mother to the front doors of retailers, help her get out, get her walker or wheelchair depending on that day’s condition. Then I drive to the rear of the parking lot and park. I never waste a handicap spot when someone can really use it. And don’t drive around the lot for 1/2 hour looking for the closest spot to the door.

I see perfectly healthy senior citizens abusing handicap spots. Their doctors should be fined for writing a state DMV disability authorization.

I hate lazy people that do this, if they have a legit tag, it is there right to have that parking space. I also hate the lazy people that park in the “painted island”, the stripped area usually around the handicap parking places. The lazy people that park in the fire lane up next to the building. I also hate the people that think they are more important, or their vehicle is, so they take up more than one parking stall. Rude drivers, that see people standing in the crosswalk, where in most states they have the right-a-way to cross and vehicles are suppose to stop. Why can’t these rude lazy people be ticketed?

I have a severe breathing problem due to numerous cardiac related procedures I’ve had to endure, somedays I’m fine, I would rather not use a handicap spot and if there is parking not too far, I will use it, but when there are no spots and I’m having a hard day of it breathing, I will relent and use the handicap spot.

I get very annoyed at times however, I‘ve had people park behind my car and then proceed to try to yell at me as to why I’m parked in a handicap spot and that I don’t need to. Just because I‘m not in a wheelchair or missing a limb doesn’t make things any easy for me, when people persist and really annoy me, then I‘m pull up my shirt and show them and massive 2 foot scares I have running down and on the side of my chest where I’ve had to be cut open and that I have a lot of trouble breathing just to walk sometimes 100-200 feet into a store, I have a hang tag and they need to mind their own damned business.

Um, excuse me, but THAT space is NOT a legal accessible parking stall. Federal law REQUIRES that stall to be PROPERLY marked for it to qualify as accessible!!! ANYONE can park there. If the newscrew didn’t know that, shame on them for not doing some basic homework first, but then, with Onumnuts as pres, it’s obvious they are also numnuts. For a ticket to be issued, this guy ought to fight this like crazy. To wit, I can tell from the video that 1, the slope exceeds 2%, 2, the ISA symbol is not to regulation, 3, the signage required in front is not there. If I were onsite in 30 seconds I am pretty sure I could find other problems with it.

There was a spot next to a local grocery near where my wife and I lived. It was not handicapped and we parked there all the time. One day my wife came home with a ticket for parking in a handicapped spot. I looked and noticed they had put up a little sign on a support pole for a canopy in front of the spot but no paint on the ground. Everyday after that, that I went to that grocery a sheriffs car was parked in the same handicapped spot. And who gave my wife the ticket you might ask? Well it was the very same deputy sheriff that apparently claimed that spot for himself.
