Flashback: Here‘s a Picture of Frances Fox Piven You Probably Haven’t Seen

I was reading a silly post by a British journalist who attempts to defend Frances Fox Piven and make fun of Glenn Beck, when I came across this:
Somewhere, there still probably exists the classic photo which ran in “Newsweek” during the Columbia University 1968 strike, which shows Fox Piven climbing up a drain pipe in a mini skirt, high heels and pearls, to join students holed up in the Dean’s office, occupying the building.
Indeed the photo exists! Though it seems to have been published in Life…not Newsweek (just one of many errors in the article). Bonus: Guess who is helping Piven in the pic?
Here’s the caption from the link on the Columbia University website:
Tom Hayden helping Frances Fox Piven, a Columbia University School of Social Work professor and well-known author and activist, back into Math, April 1968. The young girl in the red-orange sweater is her daughter, Sarah.
The Columbia post notes that Piven herself confirmed that she is the one in the picture.
Here’s a little bit of Wikipedia history on the Columbia protests:
Columbia suffered quite a bit in the aftermath of the student protest. Applications, endowments, and grants for the university declined significantly in the following years. “It took at least 20 years to fully recover.” The protests left Columbia in a bad spot financially as many potential students chose to attend other universities and some alumni refused to donate any more to the school. Many believe that protest efforts at Columbia were also responsible for pushing higher education further toward the liberal left. These critics, such as Allan Bloom, a University of Chicago professor, believed, “American universities were no longer places of intellectual and academic debate, but rather places of ‘political correctness’ and liberalism.”
Columbia’s relationship with the United States military and federal government was forever changed. There would be no more federal sponsorship of classified weapons research and international studies that had been occurring since World War II, as Columbia severed ties to the Institute for Defense Analysis, which had been created in 1955 to foster the connection between Columbia University and the defense establishment. In addition, the ROTC left the Morningside Heights campus as CIA and armed forces recruiters.

They want the destruction but have no vision as to what will replace it. If you read their writings, especially Saul Alinsky, you‘ll see it’s true. The real problem with any socialistic/communistic state is that there are people in charge and people have flaws. Greed and power lust are just two of them. If you think about it, the people that rise to the top position have to posses these “qualities” to be in the position to take over. What the people who openly call for socialistic/communist revolution don’t understand is that there will always be a despot, as it is a requirement for a regime change to a labor state.

They have not only ramped up the rhetoric but the level of hatred and disregard towards the people of this nation we live in.
Assignations, perhaps of key figures in our “tea party” part of American leadership, but I don’t see us doing that to anyone. When the stimulus fraud runs dry, then it will become obvious to you all, then a failed Treasury Auction, after that 15 days until anarchy starts, 30 days, the zombies will be out, coming for your preparations!
I’ve been to hell and back, a couple of times, civil war is NOT pretty, but I think the leftists are going to try something, when they know they’ve been politically castrated! Whatever happens will happen in 4 to 16 months, so the window is closing to prepare! Can you say $14 TRILLION reasons and counting, $5 BILLION in more debt every day? ROFLMAO, and crying at the same time – who is paying or debt off? Inflation – STAGFLATION go look it up and weep! Unfunded liabilities are $112 TRILLION, CDO’s $700 TRILLION, two more time bombs…the last bubble is the DOW…a pin is headed for it…
You all had better be ready for the coming anarchy here; know your friends, know your enemies, are you PREPARED for just about anything! Better be, or you will not make it, put that in the pipe and smoke it!

I always find it funny that when Liberals lose in the arena of ideas they resort immediately to insults and name calling because they have no other ground to stand on. This is especially true when faced with the truth, their own words and proof of intention.

And no amount of name calling, no amount of references to idiots or sheep is going to change the fact that Piven is working to destabilize this country and usher in unrest and riots. She wants Americans to “rise up” so that the progressives have a reason to push their agenda through. The problem with people like Piven is that no matter how much you hide your head in the sand and pretend that nothing is happening, and that she is just some benign old lady knitting on her front porch, she is continuing to work with all her other progressive buddies and will attempt to get their socialist, Marxist agenda rammed through here in America. Deny it all you want, but denial has never changed the truth and will not change it here either.

Something seems to be building, all the activists that have been in hiding are coming out and reliving their “glory” days…much to our detriment. Hillary must be poised to run and they are coming out to build support in the coming election. Also, they feel safe with Obama in the WH.
People in America vote for asses that care about themselves…look at them…look at their records.
The activists are more true to their nutty causes than the conservatives etc that we elect and reelect etc..

They tell me that the rank and file work-a-day regular joe is ready to move against their leadership and feel more closely aligned with the tea party. If we get to a next election, they indicated that there are secret clandestine meetings going on with union members who are ready to do whatever it takes to remove the strangehold of these thugs at the top. If the lid blows off this thing, there will be many leftists who are counting on something that is just an illusion. If you know a union man or woman, talk to them about their real feelings and you will find out what is really happening and that there are true American patriots read to drop the union and join the party.
