New Muslim Ft. Hood Suspect Was Recently Featured on…Al Jazeera

Nearly two years after the tragic Ft. Hood shooting, an arrest earlier today has authorities worried about another potential incident at the military post.

This morning, The Blaze reported on Pfc. Nasser Jason Abdo, an AWOL U.S. serviceman from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, who was arrested for allegedly planning an attack in or around the Ft. Hood area. In addition to his detainment for the purported attack plan, a Ft. Hood spokesperson claims that Abdo was also being investigated for having child pornography on his government computer.

Abdo, who went AWOL on July 4, has been working diligently to escape deployment to Afghanistan. Thus, this isn‘t the first time he’s appeared in major media outlets. Back in August 2010, he appeared on CNN to discuss why his Muslim faith makes it impossible for him to serve the American military.

In the interview, he claims that he initially saw no conflict in enlisting in the military: ”I was under the impression that I could serve both the U.S. Army and my God simultaneously.”

Then, he claims he began to question whether Allah would want him taking part in war and whether such an action would be going against “the peace that Islam preaches.” He repeated these claims to ABC News:

“A Muslim is not allowed to participate in an Islamicly unjust war,” the Texan told ABCNews.com. “Any Muslim who knows his religion or maybe takes into account what his religion says can find out very clearly why he should not participate in the U.S. military.”

He went on to say that he initially felt that joining the military would be a challenge to both his mind and body. Additionally, he said he thought God would be proud of him: “I felt I was doing something good for the Muslim nation.” Below, watch him explain his opposition to CNN:

While the 21-year-old soldier preached peace in his CNN and ABC interviews, authorities worry that he was planning a violent attack. Law enforcement officials claim that they were tipped off on Wednesday by a gun dealer. According to the source, Abdo arrived at Guns Galore (the same gun shop Major Nidal Malik Hasan used when attacking the base nearly two years ago) in a taxi and allegedly asked suspicious questions about smokeless powder (a common component in pipe bombs). According to KCENTV.com:

The police located the cab driver, who told them the name of the motel where Abdo was staying.  They questioned him at his room and placed him under arrest.

Explosives were found, a federal officials says, in the room and in a backpack there.

Abdo was never deployed to either Iraq of Afghanistan. In fact, he applied for conscientious objector status (which would have allowed him to escape military service). While his request was approved, his discharge was placed on hold after a child pornography charge was waged.

Ft. Hood has acknowledged Abdo’s arrest, but claims that it has no connection to the base, saying that no incident occurred at the post and that the soldier is not based there.

(No, Islam is total submission to Allah, through the vehicle of the Qur’an) He can get CO status from the Army, incredibly, because he doesn’t believe in unjust war, aka war where Muslims might get killed. But he would have no problem moving the needle to the other side of the vegetable scale and offing a bunch of kaffir because that would be a just war??

      I say BS. This was all planned out in advance. He was a PFC. In the Army that is 1-1/2 years service. 3-1/2 months for boot camp + 1 month off for family visit afterwards. There would be time spent for an application, review, and decision.

      I would suggest that having a plan in mind, he joined the Army for military training to aid him in his attack on US Army personnel. He is a terrorist making war against the US. Send him to Gitmo and try him for being an illegal combatant.

      It’s actually interesting if you read the first 30 pages of the Quran, all it talks about is Jews are bad, m’kay? I mean, whoever wrote it was obsessed with hating and killing jews. Seriously, read it. That’s all it talks about, at least as far as I got. I kind of got bored with it after a while. Does it talk about anything else? At least the Christian Bible starts out like the opening scene of Star Wars and keeps the plot moving along at a pretty good clip and ends with Armageddon. That’s a book!       To understand the enmity between Israel and Islam, one has to read the Bible, for it is there, in the life of Abraham that the story begins. God promised Abraham & Sarah a son; Sarah offered her handmaiden, Hagar, to Abraham. Hagar had a son, Ishmael. When Ishmael was about 13 or so, Sarah conceived with the promised son and bore Isaac. After this Ishmael was displaced and tormented Isaac. Sarah ordered Ishmael and his mother banished into the wilderness. Abraham banished them and Hagar cried out to God for mercy and he answered her prayer and promised to make a great nation of Ishmael’s progeny….thus the enmity between Jew and Muslim was born. Christians, who are considered sons of Abraham thru adoption (redemption in Christ) are also enemies of Islam for that very reason. So…..it all began way back when. It’s our entire western way of life they are out to annihilate. As a woman, I certainly do not desire to live under Sharia law. At best it’s unjust, and at worst it’s beyond barbaric.       This is why any muslim should NOT be in the military. Allah comes before any other allegiance. Everything is done for allah, not for the good of our country, not for community, not for family.       You’d be surprised at how many people (regardless of religion) are surprised when they get placed into action. I served with some who were crying as they were getting on the busses muttering “I didn’t sign up to go to war”. In fact, I wanted to catch up with some old friends (looking through a facebook group) who I lost touch with. What I found were pictures of people in their barracks with a big Mexican flag on their wall. I pray that my brothers and sisters in the military keep their heads held high and eyes WIDE open.

      When you take an oath to serve, who do you pledge to serve, the Constitution of the USA, so help me God? I am a Christian, I serve God and country, because our country’s Constitution, great institutions, and laws are rooted and grounded on the significant principles of the Bible. That is our rich heritage. With muslims, everything is NOT the Constitution, it’s all allah. Islam is like the anti-Constitution.
      Would you strap a bomb on yourself and do it in the name of God to kill the enemy as well as innocent women and children like muslims do? No, you use your God-given sense to kill the enemy as well as protect your brother-in-arms, be he a Christian or not and TRY NOT to harm any civilians. Would a muslim do that? Not that I have heard of.

    Enough is enough. Bottom line is that a Muslim is going to have issues serving in the U.S. Military—that is a fact. That should be enough to keep them out of the military. Does it mean every one of them is planning an attack? NO. But political correctness is neutering this country and when it starts to affect our national security, you have to draw the line.
