Flashback: Paul Ryan Laughs at Debbie Wasserman Schultz During CNN Battle

With Saturday’s announcement of Rep. Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney’s pick for vice president, here’s a flashback to 2010 when Ryan and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) appeared together on CNN to discuss the GOP’s then-proposed “Pledge to America.”

Recall that Republicans were swept into the House of Representatives during the midterm elections less than two months later.

For her part, the Democratic National Committee chairwoman said Saturday a Romney-Ryan ticket is “sure to take us back and repeat the same catastrophic mistakes that got us into the mess we found ourselves in in the first place.”

It would have been better if he called her a Bit** under his breath at the very end.

I admit I like Paul Ryan more than Romney, but the fact remains.

THEY ALL VOTE FOR PROGRESSIVE “UTOPIAN” AGENDA’S. “Utopia” can only be achieved through tyranny due to the individual. Does the individual have any say when it comes to NDAA, The Patriot Act, The FED, The U.N., etc? We will continue down the same road as long as these “Utopians” keep getting voted into office. There is no longer any accountability for actions past or present. Look to our current and previous administrations for proof. Legislation is the key no speeches. Yes I understand Romney and Paul are good with numbers and might fix the economy, but is the economy everything now? Romney may not be a communist but he still is a “Utopian” with BIG government ideas.
Read the Communist manifesto, Plato’s Republic, even Ameritopia puts it in perspective of what Utopia really means for the individual.

Red vs. Blue = destruction of our Republic

PAUL RYAN says, ‘…extinguish MEDICARE’, unlikely to be too popular in OH, FL, GA, AZ, and a lot of other states———–LA Times says there‘s no reason to believe that Ryan’s proposals will do anything to reduce healthcare costs in the U.S., ———–and reason to believe they would do the opposite.[17] ——–Starting in 2022, the Republican proposal —————-would extinguish Medicare as a guaranteed coverage program ———————for new enrollees and ———————would replace the program with healthcare vouchers, allowing seniors to buy private health insurance with a government subsidy.[9]

The vouchers would rise in value with the consumer price index (general inflation), ———————but as medical expenses have been rising much faster than the consumer price index, ——————————-the value of the government subsidy would erode over time.

He’s got a great “know it all” smirk doesn’t he! Just like Romney. It’s one of those gut level things that make you, and most Americans, dislike Romney. Let’s face it, you don‘t like Romney because he’s the rich guy, the smirking rich guy, who thinks you’re beneath their notice. And you say he’s conservative enough, but really don’t know what he stands for do you?

Wasserman Schultz is correct of course. The voucher system, which gives seniors a check and lets them “shop around” for insurance does nothing but kick seniors in the ditch. The vouchers would never keep up with the rising cost of medical care. Seventy year olds aren’t going to “shop around” and evaluate insurance options. They’re seventy. they’re eighty. Please.

No, don‘t say I’m speculating, that‘s the reason he’s proposing them: to shift the cost of healthcare to seniors, a group least able to absorb the rising cost of medicine. No this isn’t some free market idea, the idea is to reduce medical care to the elderly to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.

Ryan’s budget is a way to take from the poor, the middle class and the elderly and give that money to the rich. You’ll be hearing more about that, but I thought I’d give you a heads up.

Once again the progressives who comment here show they have no common sense at all. The system is broken. Baby boomers are just starting to retire now and impact both Social Security and Medicare. We have just entered the phase where people who have been paying into SS their entire working careers will receive LESS in benefits than the money they paid in. It‘s only going to get worse if changes aren’t made now. But being a progressive Democrat, it’s always easier to shove your head up your arse and pretend it will go away all by itself. And you are intellectual liars. You refuse to admit that Obamacare raids Medicare of over $700 BILLION to pay for Obamcare. It’s all about power and corruption for progressives. The truth will set you free. Unfortunately most progressives have no problem living as a serf. You sad little puppets.

I marvel at how some intelligent people can still believe in the myth of utopian socialism and communism. There are no examples of it working anywhere in history. There are legion of examples of deadly results with millions exterminated as a result of people believing in this myth. Utopia requires perfect moral leaders and participants. The vision of the founders requires only somewhat moral people and a small and weak central government. You will notice that the system works with most imperfect church going people but fails miserably when you try to make it work with most city dwelling democrat liberals. And so the failure of the system ran by immoral people leads them to think that the system is broken and thus they always turn to totalitarian or Marxist systems where personal liberty is removed.

You know what I marvel at NeoFan? The fact that you can’t see what is right in front of your eyes, every day, wherever you are. Let me give you an example of socialism that you can find in your very own town! Your local POTW. That stands for PUBLICALLY OWNED treatment works; i.e. the sewer plant. That’s a facility paid for by everyone, operated by the government, that takes sewage from your house and those of your neighbors, and treats that sewage so it can be returned to the earth without collecting in a big pile or contaminating the water system. That’s pure socialism: a facility bought for by everyone, paid for by everyone, operated by the government, and which serves the common good. That’s a socialist outfit NeoFan. It isn’t even run for profit!

Let’s see, is there anything else like that? What about the water that comes out of your faucet? The road in front of your house? Publically owned and maintained by the government for your benefit. “You didn’t build that” road NeoFan, any more than you did the POTW. Libraries? Parks? Streetlights? The electrical lines that run to your house? “You didn’t build that.” That’s socialism at work.

NeoFan, some things, not all, we do better collectively. That’s socialism.

@JZS – you are gravely mistaken on what Socialism is. Services that we ALL benefit from and can use is an understood tax that is not fought as we ALL benefit from it. Socialism is vastly more broad as it envelops all facets of commerce and not just service. The problem with your logic is that you think socialism is good and roads, bridges and schools are proof that socialism is good….hogwash! Case in point…if the government takes over the auto industry then the price point is set and competition fails thus no NEW businesses are created. No one is lobbying to build roads and schools as that isn’t an industry in this country. The auto industry grew because of the absence of government and others contributed to compete in this lucrative business. If government thinks that it can create jobs or produce anything, then they also think they can set a fair price but prices change via supply and demand that would be ELIMINATED if government ran any form of production. Again, Socialism in other countries is where government has regulated and ran a company or companies for the purpose of producing a product. ALL of those countries that choose to have government run production have extremely low GDP and do not compete with others that allow their market to remain free to compete for international dollars. Although the dollar has weakened some in the last few years do to excessive borrowing and a drop in rating, we are still kings of this castle once we right the ship.

@JZS – to conclude my point about why we are taxed is because we need to establish an infrastructure that we ALL can use amongst other needed services. No one disputes this but when raising taxes to accommodate a select few that is called socialism. My tax dollars should only go to programs that I can utilize myself since I am paying for it.
The problem with liberal thinking is that they have no foundation and the only reason that this country has prospered over the last century is that government was NEVER the driving force in production. Do some research on the USSR on how to obtain a vehicle and how long it took. We prospered as a country since we glorified the individual which allowed all Americans to succeed in commerce since regulating a market provides no opportunity and ingenuity will not accompany government intervention. Face it JZS, you aren’t very intelligent about economic matters and you want the government to run your life so you can be comfortable. The rest of us are REAL AMERICANS and will live OUTSIDE of our comfort zone since that is the location where ingenuity lives. Obama made it cool for liberals to embrace socialism but you will hide and jump off that wagon once he is booted from office since that is the fair weather liberal that exists today.

Watching the debates between him and Biden will be like watching an intellectual giant take on a squirrelly amoeba! My concerns during the debates, especially O‘dumbo and Romney is that O’dumbo is going to have a hidden earpiece (or maybe they might even embed something under his skin) so that someone is feeding him answers. If you watch that 6 minute video of Paul Ryan ripping Obamacare, you can see by the blank expression on O‘dumbo’s face that he is totally clueless about what Paul is talking about and I‘m sure the democraps don’t wan’t the useful idiot looking like himself.

I find her entertaining, at a minimum. She’s like one big giant gaffe-fest! Seeing that she is, oft-times, the face of the Democratic party, they more they put Debbie Whatshername-Shultz on the air, the better it is for the entire country to see just how completely brain-dead the Democratic party is.

Deb must think that if you have $1.00 in the bank you can spend $20.00 without getting an overdraft..

You can only do that for so long and then you end up where we are now – looking for different candidates to elect like Romney and Ryan. We will hold their feet to the fire if elected.

that last statement is a “must.” I still don’t trust very well. I hope Paul takes as much power as possible into the convention…else why have one. Ryan is fine but watch the Mittster…He has plans for you.
But did he read Romans 8:28

This guy is articulate and energizing. He is intelligent enough to talk circles around people like this woman by using the facts and truth not personal attacks, talking points, and straw men arguments. I am looking forward to an interesting next few months especially watching the Ryan v Biden debate…

Words that cannot be printed describe this woman. She comes across as ignorant and as harpy. I am constantly amazed at the ilk that represent America. There should be an IQ test to run for office.

You gotta love these guys with the attitude of “Ron Paul or nothing”. Listen. Ron Paul isn’t going to the white house, not now and not ever. He’d make for a decent treasury secretary, and maybe grandpa…

So the you tube clip of the guy with the really bad comb over is suggesting total, complete auserity here in the U.S. I agree completely but it can’t be done for a plethora of reasons including total social unrest for starters.

So let’s get realistic, a move to balance the budget is a good one because right now, the current lunaticcs at the helm are increasing debt and deficits every waking moment. They‘re completely incapable of running the country and don’t understand the basics of accounting.

I was just hoping she would keep her effing mouth shut long enough for Ryan to finish his point. I notice he allowed her to hit all of her talking points, without interruption, but liberals have all been to the “If the other guys has a good argument, talk over him / her so no one can hear what they have to say, because we’re childish cry babies” training. They have the run-off-at-the-mouth disease that seems to infect so many folks on the left.
