Flashback: Remember Christine O‘Donnell on ’Politically Incorrect‘ in the ’90s?

Bill Maher once called Christine O’Donnell “our friend.” Not because of a political alliance, but because the newly-chosen Republican Senatorial candidate in Delaware was a popular guest on “Politically Incorrect” in the 90′s.

Introduced as a “Christian activist,” O’Donnell tackles abortion, the Monica Lewisnky/Bill Clinton sex scandal, transvestites, and the benefits of telling the truth during the following videos.

The latter could be especially interesting considering accusations O’Donnell lied about getting her college degree. In the segment, she explains that “A lie, whether it be a lie or an exaggeration, is disrespect to whoever you’re exaggerating or lying to.”

Part two:

Telling the truth is always a good basic policy of course ….. but nobody’s perfect and a more realistic attitude toward the truth would be ….. I’m not perfect, but I try my best to stay as close to the truth as I possibly can. She goes as far as to say she wouldn’t lie to someone coming for a Jewish person hiding in her house, that God will step in. That’s just silly, like Bill said. I’m quite sure that God would be OK with lying in this particular case, and He doesn‘t swoop down when you’re stupid and fall off a high cliff.

But of course what she’s actually lied about, if indeed she has, is pretty small potatoes compared to say …. Clinton lying to the Grand Jury to deny someone’s complaint of sexual harassment, which he’s clearly been guilty of numerous times to different degrees from rape to a consensual cigar turned sex toy.

But she’s set a foolishly high standard for herself by her appearance on this show. Perhaps a little confession and explanation. I really don’t think people would think it was a very big deal, and they’d admire her for admitting whatever, and I’m not really clear on exactly what that is. I think in retrospect, if Clinton had simply confessed everything right up front and made it right with those he’d wronged, he’d never have been impeached. Gore would have been President.

So let’s hope she plays this right, comes clean with whatever, and diffuses this stuff the sooner the better. In the mean time, we need to all contribute at her web site. She’s our gal, perfect or not.

I challenged a liberal friend to watch Glenn Beck for a week and I would watch Olberman for 1 week.
(Rather painfull experience for me I dare say!) I found some of his schtik to be funny and he made a few good points but those were quickly displaced from my mind by his utterly rediculous and crude jokes and comments after those points. I found him to be distasteful, rude and (in my view) crazy! There was more hate filled rantings then I could stand.

Now my liberal friends response was interesting. He told me that Glenn Becks show was nothing like he was led to believe. He indicated that he did not agree with most of what Glenn was saying but that Glenn did make some good points. He did say that Gleen appered to be crazy at times but after the week was over he believed that was from Glenn’s passion. He told me that he would watch the show some more.

Most interestingly, Glenn’s show is an expose of the left…through their own words, spoken and written. I find that the majority of the leftist people I come into contact with are small ineffectual individuals who really have surrendered to the idea that they can’t survive without big government. They have been groomed by the progressives to be dependent and weak. Glenn Beck has shown us HOW this was done. I believe that any afro-American or Hispanic welfare recipient who is still voting for democrats is sleeping with the enemy.

Regarding O’Donnell, I like her so far, I don’t believe she has followed her own philosophy on her tax problems along with the college tuition issue, but I don’t know the full story yet. Has she come out and admitted she was wrong? What is the full story? I have to look into it further.

The Progressives on this post are happy to point out her flaws, but then they turn around and support people like Rangel, who said he never lied and that he didn’t do anything wrong, and that he is distinguished and has integrity…. Please be consistent.

Moriarty, As usual, the left thinking mind is in the gutter. There is usually only a few subjects that move you…sex and drugs, money and power, and of course your own self image. Most of you have no idea what MORALS are. Everything belongs to the Lord, we shepherd our blessings or we squander them.
I realize that there are some very wealthy scumbags in the world, but I know that most of the truly successful people on the planet are morally upright. So go and get as much of what is left of this corrupt and sinful world while you can. Run, run into the arms of the beast and suck, suck, suck on the Marxist teat. I don’t believe that you will be able to satisfy yourself any other way. The liberal is dependent, inefficient, profligate, arrogant, insolent, and most of all he is self absorbed. I don’t know you, and still I don’t like you. I can live without you and your kind. You do not have what it takes to make it in the Lord’s world. What it takes is truth, and it is NOT in you. sincerely, Max .

First off, I’m a centrist, not a leftist since I have a hard time taking up any single ideology as a whole.

Secondly, I’m an agnostic. I personally believe that I make my own choices regardless of if/what type of divine power there is. That also makes me responisible for my own actions and I have no one to blame but myself, no God no Beast just me.

I am a little disapointed you felt the need to rip me apart just because I voiced my opinion about hypocrisy amongst politicians, instead of simply disagreeing or trying to refute my claim.

As to the definition of morals, it scares me that you react the way you do, treat me with utter disrespect and consider yourself a moral person, but my looking at past behavior of claims similar to Ms. O‘Donnell isn’t.

And for the claims that I’m a Marxist, I’ll plead guilty. I really love the timing of Groucho.

moriarty, Ok, I apologize for the attack. I have no reason or excuse. I do believe that you did exhibit a rather prurient limitation of the concept of morality. I will say that, you seem to be all about sitting on the fence. Is that your ‘centrist” stand, or your gnostic lack of faith?. Still, I think I don’t like you,(although you may the most lovable fellow on the block), and this is the reason…It is your insolence! What do you stand for? Is there a cause that you would sacrifice for? I believe anyone on the fence at this time is just waiting for the outcome to choose a side. Opportunistic, and lacking the moral fiber that it’s going to take to get to the other side. Just a spectator. Safe, in your non-participation. Centrist, huh? Not hot nor cold…yuck. Do you really think that not taking a stand is controlling your own destiny? So, I’m sorry about attacking you for being progressive, but I criticize your lukewarm attitude about the direction our government is being pushed by the progressives. sincerely spewing thee from my mouth, Max

      Posted on September 15, 2010 at 4:33pm

To be fair, my centrist attitude comes from the fact that I’m Canadian. I watch and analyis American politics since I’ve been aware since I was a teenager that “As goes America, so goes Canada.” in terms of policy so I have a vested interest. Combine that with the fact I was raised by fairly cynical parents and I have a hard time being passionate about either side of the aisle since both have their flaws.

That doesn‘t mean I’m not passionate about politics, I believe if you don‘t vote you have no right to complain about your government since you can’t be bothered to be involved. I am still conflicted with the next Canadian election since the party I usually support can’t be bothered to do their job for the last few years.

If you want to know what I stand for I think the closest for your politics would be libertairian, fiscal conservative and social liberal. That‘s the one reason I’m happy with how Canada is going, the Conservatives are in power and manage the money well, but the Liberals & others have the numbers to keep any “moral legislating” in check.

Trudeau once said “The government has no place in the bedrooms of the nation.” And that’s how I try to live my life. I‘d probably support more Republicans and Conservatives if they could prove to me that they don’t care what people do in private, but it becomes a campaign issue too often.

And thank you for returning to civil discourse, I don’t mind when someone disagrees with me, but I do ask to be treated with the respect I try to offer.

Your morality tells you that you shouldn’t like Moriarty because he is “insolent?” What kind of charge is that to level against someone in an open debate in a free country? Your political philosophy is quite strange, and it would seem rather comical if it were not dedicated to abridging the rights of others and imposing your religious beliefs on everyone.

Those of us who advocate individual freedom to not hate the tyrants, but we do fear them. We will not surrender to your lies, half truths or offers to buy our support with our own tax money. But we are concerned that the population is being infected by the victims of our educational system.

The Tea Parties are not an ideological movement with a leader who determines the ideology and movement’s objectives. Some of those who organize and publicize the meetings may think that they are ideological leaders but they are simply providing a forum to discuss the discontent with the direction the government is being taken. The Tea Party Participants have their own ideas and those ideas are not necessarily homogenous.

The mere fact that the “Tea Party Leaders” provided the forum and publicity to establish the meeting does not mean that they can dictate the ideology of the Tea Party Participants or even affect that ideology. The Tea Parties are attended to participate in logical discussion of the issues and the participants will base their opinion upon the discussion of the issues. The Tea Party Participant’s ideology and support of any candidates will be unique to each participant not dictated by the provider of the form.

Tea Party Participants are not sheep and the provider of the forum is not the shepherd.

I was not looking forward to watching the video, not wanting to see her sound like a fool or embarrassing. i was cringing at the prospect, but she has a good sense of humor, polite, good timing and not pushy. bill was not so bad, had hair and a little more light hearted. That smart-aleck smirk he had developed wasn’t so bad with a panel of comedians and entertainers – and a spokes person for a Christian faith based organization.

Very revealing thought process these people have, laid right out there for you.

And calling all Tea Partiers hateful and divisive isn’t hateful and divisive itself? Sounds pretty hypocritical! Please try practicing what you preach!

Oh my…. Are you truly that delusional? I have never in my life seen the hate and lies that are being thrown around by the left as now.

Where in God’s name do you live? Under a rock.

Beckofile I think what you said here was very rude. Progressives are well known to be retarded in that they slow the progress of the entire country. Knowing that Danglingbags is clearly a Progressive you should know that insults such as yours are truly insulting somebody with a known mental defect. Picking on the mentally handicapped is never appropriate.

Please in the future keep your insults in reserve.

Has anyone noticed that DANGLINGBAGS is always posting on this website, no matter what time of day.
He must be unemployed to have so much time to post
      .
Maybe he is employed just to agitated and harassing people that read the blaze. I do see that most of his post are just cut and paste from the democrats propaganda pages. nothing new.

I find it so amusing that anyone would be so dumb as to believe is that democrats propaganda crap.
It may be the first job he has had in 5 years.
There isn’t many jobs open for someone like him.

      What do you think?
Is DANGLINGBAGS just a stooge for the democrats?….
