Flashback: Romney‘s Past Warnings About ’Violent, Radical, Islamic Fundamentalism’ & the Caliphate

The differences between 2008 and 2012 campaign rhetoric are striking. Considering the distinction between the nation’s pre and post-recession woes, this is completely understandable.
While the 2012 campaign features speeches focused upon jobs, the economy and unemployment, the 2008 race was characterized by references to war, radical Islam and other related subject matter.
Take Mitt Romney, for example. The former Massachusetts governor spoke candidly throughout the 2008 campaign, as did his rivals, about the need to fight “violent, radical, Islamic fundamentalism.” There were numerous times — in both speeches, campaign ads and other appearances — that Romney addressed this threat head-on.
Now, in a down economy and during a time during which Americans seem to be focused more intently on what’s going on domestically, Romney’s priorities — like those of his fellow candidates — have changed. BuzzFeed’s Andrew Kaczynski summarizes this evolution in campaign rhetoric and themes:
Mitt Romney has all but stopped talking about something that was once a central part of his stump speech: radical Islam. During the 2008 campaign cycle, a major cornerstone of Romney’s campaign was the need to fight “radical jihad.” He warned of the threat of radical Muslims wanting to “united the world under a single Islamic caliphate.” That he‘s dropped the subject marks a recognition that we’re no longer in the 9/11 era, politically speaking.
Below, watch a compilation of Romney’s 2008 warnings about radical Islam, the caliphate and other related themes. Today, one rarely hears him utter these same cautions:
The economy has, for the moment, taken center stage. And Romney, among other candidates, has molded his campaign to reflect this priority shift.

The truth is, in Massachusetts he kept 80% of his promises and the rest he fought to achieve and were held back.
Example: We think that Romney hated or fought Reagan back in 1994 when he went against Kennedy, but Romney has never been again Reagan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKtXjiHV090&context=C36056faADOEgsToPDskJM2y_TRWYk9ChHHpCoybqL

Romney is a white obama, soros is hedging his bet by supporting two people obama and Romney so it doesn’t matter who wins. Romney‘s foreign policy differs none from Obama’s.
Our government creates the crisis of radical Islam through its foreign policy and then presents wars as the solution, limiting the liberty of the citizens through the Patriot Act, NDAA, etc… .

The general idea of the TEA Party would never support NDAA. Unfortunately, many many have begun calling themselves TEA but do not know what TEA even means or why it was started. Just like OWS eventually attracked many who simply wanted to be part of the movement, even without knowing why, same thing has happened to TEA that was started in 2007.

This Prophet Monson holds great power over them. When he speaks it is like god speaking, so if a morman get in the white house and the Prophet gives them “suggestions” and he speaks for or like god, and since mormans aspire to live in the first level of heaven where god lives, it only follows that they would never say NO to a Prophet Monson “suggestion”, the power of the Prez. is at high risk of being transferred to Prophet Monson, even though he wasn’t visibly on the ticket. It is something voters need to consider as a serious risk. Now there will be a cry of bigotry, but it just plain old common sense. Allot of Americans voted for a “black man” for Prez. and never looked below the color of the skin to the quality of the character, if they had, they would have ascertained the level of risk in voting for a “marxist”. Voting for a morman has risk too, requires some courage to evaluate it. I have nothing against mormans, but I do think there is significant risks to Americans that think they are voting for one person and they are getting another.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 2:03pm321481: I also have a concern about Romney being a mormon. For the last week I have been reading through the book of mormon. I’ve only gotten as far as Alma 7, but will continue on. I’m taking notes, looking up names and places, and looking at archeological studies, etc. I note that the names and places mentioned in the book of mormon simply do not and have never existed. Looking at archeological studies, there has never been any concrete evidence of the cities, towers, temples, etc. that they claim to have built. It is as I have said previously on this site a complete work of fiction. One thing that I noticed is that the Nephities got a bit ahead of history as they knew about Jesus Christ, redemption, the resurrection, and baptizm hundreds of years before Jesus Christ was born and hundreds of years before anyone else knew about Jesus Christ. They were building churches before the world even knew what a church was, because the church was not actually organized until Jesus Christ went back to heaven. I dug out a huge study that I had done on the internet about mormonism in 2000 and reread it. Instead of expounding on mormonism here, I thought that I would challenge you all to read a Critical Essay about mormonism that was written in 1832 AD by Alexander Campbell. He was a witness to the beginnings of mormonism in The United States and details the book of mormonism quite nicely. I looked on the internet to see if the study existed and it still does.

Report Post »Joseph Smith, the founder of mormonism said in the History of the Church, Vol. 6, Ch. 14, p. 305-306, LDS Collectors Library that: Here, then, is eternal life–to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all gods have done before you, namely, by going from one small degree to another, and from a small capacity to a great one; from grace to grace, from exaltation to exaltation, until you attain to the resurrection of the dead, and are able to dwell in everlasting burnings, and to sit in glory, as do those who sit enthroned in everlasting power. And I want you to know that God, in the last days, while certain individuals are proclaiming His name, is not trifling with you or me.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 2:39pmFor those evangelicals that are considering voting for Romney, please consider what James E. Talmage, Articles of Faith, Ch. 24, p. 430 – 431, LDS Collectors Library said: We believe in a God who is Himself progressive, whose majesty is intelligence; whose perfection consists in eternal advancement — a Being who has attained His exalted state by a path which now His children are permitted to follow, whose glory it is their heritage to share. In spite of the opposition of the sects, in the face of direct charges of blasphemy, the Church proclaims the eternal truth: As man is, God once was; as God is, man may be.
Report Post »Joseph Smith went on to say that: God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heaven! That is the great secret.
Joseph Smith also said: God: Creator and Ruler of Many Worlds…he is a personal Being, a holy and exalted Man, a glorified, resurrected Personage having a tangible body of flesh and bones, an anthropomorphic Entity, the personal Father of the spirits of all men. He said: Intelligent beings are organized to become Gods, even the Sons of God, to dwell in the presence of the Gods, and become associated with the highest intelligences that dwell in eternity. We are now in the school, and must practice upon what we receive.
Please read Critical Essay written in 1832 by Alexander Campbell. You can find it on the internet. Well worth the read to understanding mormonism.

Posted on January 17, 2012 at 1:12amMary, what did Jesus mean when he said this:
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
The only scriptures they had at that time were the writings of old testament prophets. What is that book a testament of if not of Christ? Of course the old testament prophets knew of Christ. That’s what made them prophets.

I won’t mention any names, but there is only one candidate for president who knows that. In fact, he predicted it a long time ago.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 8:43amYa Right, Romney, now you are a Glenn Beck reflection, or maybe Glenn Beck is a reflectiion of you. Nice try, not going to bite!! Maybe you can try a pac ad to help you out with this. Nothing like playing voters for fools yet again. There were others long before you that were saying this, they just didn’t have the blow horn. I see you are trying to get this slippery thing down, trying to aspire to be just like Obama, keep at it buddy, some will fall for it, not me.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 8:31amShould we blindly hire a mormon just to prove we aren’t bigots? We hired a black man for the same reason. Doesn’t seem to be working out for us.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 8:44amRomney hasn’t changed, he is still speaking out against Violent Radical Islamic Jihad in 2012, have you read his book, it is all over it. He has spoken out about it before most.
This is one of the things that has been forgotten. What about his Arizona Immigration Law he set up in 2006, before Arizona. What about his Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage in 2003 in Massachusetts and travelling to DC to fight for traditional marriage in the Federal Govt. What about his pushing to teach abstinence in schools, not just contraception. What about his balancing the budget every year in Massachusetts. What about… I could go on forever. Romney is a conservative and though they said it in 2008, they seem to distort his message in 2012.

People are starting to see that now, his record is getting out and just today he broke 40% in the National Polls (Fox News Poll)

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 10:31amThere is no Tea Party for Romney. We think more highly of the Constitution than that.
ROFL.
There ain’t no individual mandate in the Constitution. I don’t see Romneycare or gay marriage there either.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 8:20amOK Fine Mitt. Why don’t we try a practical approach, like I don’t know, stop giving them VISA’s to come into the country and start a little profiling rather than groping granny?

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 1:17pmWhy…because that would make far too much sense.
Romney needs his propped up Boogie Man so he can have his NDAA and the molesters at the TSA, because he is a NWO shill.

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 8:11amGee Mitt…I have read the Koran and I read and study the Holy Bible. I knew about this 20 years ago. They want to lkill us. What took you so long to figure it out. Maybe it is your “other book”.
The thing is that Muslims are split right now. If we leave them alone they will destroy each other, but meddlers like Mitt, Newt and the two Ricks will unite them in the soul purpose of ending America.
If you and other Neocons would leave the Muslim world alone they would have a bloody civil war, then Israel can finish them off at Armegeddon. But you read that “other book” dont you Mitt? You think you can change Biblical Prophesy with another war?

Report Post »I cannot believe that educated people can be so stupid and foolish in their beliefs. We had been using your approach, so 9/11/01 was our reward for such stupid and foolish actions. No matter which “Book” anyone was reading.

Report Post »What’s the point you paint? The first thing on voters minds is over spending, cutting big govt & creating jobs. Are you trying to join the choir of painting incorrect picture of Romney while most by now have figured out he’s the only candidate who has a clue if 1/2 of what Glenn says will happen? You have to be strong at home before you can fight & win abroad. If you’ve listened he has stated he would not roll back military to point where we would not be viewed weak and not feared. Is this Journalism? pathetic!
