Florida Gov. Retweets ‘Jacka**‘ Comment During ’Twitter Town Hall’

What can go wrong during a “Twitter town hall?” There are no live questions, no unsuspected outbursts, and the “speaker” is in control of everything. Unless you’re new Florida Governor Rick Scott (R) and you retweet a profane message.
The process was fairly simple. Scott picked 22 questions to retweet, and then responded with an answer. There were questions about living in the state capital, Tallahassee, his thoughts on offshore drilling, and his plan for the Department of Corrections. But it’s not the 22 questions that are getting the most attention. It’s the 23 one — apparently retweeted by accident — that’s grabbing headlines.
That tweet came from user “Pretty Twister” who asked: “So what, are you gunna fire everyone and hire Walmart employees? Yeah, thats great… you jackass.”
Following the format of the evening, Scott’s posting of the comment made it seem as if he would answer. He didn’t. Instead, he thanked everyone for their tweets and signed off.
The profane tweet was later deleted from the exchange.
The event in general, however, was being hailed as a success. Scott even picked up 1,000 Twitter followers on Thursday.

Posted on January 21, 2011 at 2:18pmAlso, I know Gov. Scott, personally and campaigned for him. We all hope he does what he promised. One thing we do know, he is not an innocent and knows how to take the issues on head first. We did not want to elct a “wussy” for the job and hopefully we didn’t. You just can‘t put someone into politics who doesn’t know how the game is played and is too clean. We must have fighters in these positions and someone who is not afraid to get into the game and know how it’s played.

Posted on January 21, 2011 at 3:12pmWell, I for one, am tired of the ‘game playing’ going on in politics. We need as many ‘too clean’ newcomers so they can actually change the game. Enough with game playing, let’s get down to some serious matters and stop playing the game.

Posted on January 21, 2011 at 2:14pmThe whole reason the Unions are picketing and targeting Wal Mart and the developers of Wal Mart right now is because they are angry. Wal Mart would not go Union and fought them. The Unions have Lawsuits against Wal Mart and will do anything to ruin them.
Report Post »I don’t want a Wal Mart in every town and city. They sell nothing but Chinese and foreign trash and cater to illegals, at least in my town. WE don’t ( any of us) dare go there alone or at night. I live in Florida and know what I am talking about, at least for here in my town. I am not speaking for others. The Unions will do anything and I do mean anything, to obtain more power, corner all the jobs, grow their membership and collect the fees and dues. Now they are suing a major grocery store chain so that unions can come in and influence and stir up controversy and try to recruit members. Then they turn around and use those funds from members to donate to campaign coffers and influence policy making. We have more union officials in the White House now than ever in history. What does that say to you? One must understand that once any group or organization gains this much power, they fully intend to use it and everyone will be at their mercy. Look at what’s happened thus far….Now they have positions in this administration and protection with this president. That should alram all of us.
Remember when Kennedy took them on and exposed all the criminal activity and violence? Remember what happened? I hope that you do.

Secondly, how I wish we could contract out the entire DC bureaucracy to Walmart! Even Larry, Curly and Moe would do better.

Posted on January 21, 2011 at 9:12amI think Rick Scott is going to be our Governor Christie. Bold ideas, common sense, & sincere in his attempt to bring our State back to at least where Crist tried to destroy it by playing political games with no clear path for success, for the State, just for himself and even that failed.

Posted on January 21, 2011 at 9:58amI’ll second that one Granny… We have more oil reserves than the middle east, yet our stupid politicians won’t let us drill for our own oil… Meanwhile, the Cubans, Chinese, and Russians are drilling in the Gulf of Mexico…
Drilling for our own oil would put an end to this current “recession”… Thousands of jobs would be created as the drillers hired crews… Additional crude processing plants would be built built, providing employment for construction workers… gasoline would again be less than a buck a gallon and half of our GNP wouldn’t be going to people that hate our guts…

Posted on January 21, 2011 at 8:51amSo because the gov accidentally forwards the tweet from a scat-head lib, he is responsible for the words and content of the message…which was a slam on him. Really?
Let me get this straight. Conservatives are responsible for the shooter in AZ …not the shooter responsible for himself. And Conservatives are responsible for the words of others, not the speaker himself. So are conservatives just responsible for everything? Are libs not capable of being responsible for anything? If that’s true…then step down from office everywhere. We will gladly be responsible and take control from you juvenile POSs.

Posted on January 21, 2011 at 10:04amLast time I checked the word “Jack***” refers to a aniamil, not just to a political figure, so yes it still is a legitimate word to use; I just hate the way this PC garbage is getting anymore across the board.
However, on the twitter part, someone may have used better judgement in the posting or sending of the tweet. Never have bothered with twitter so not sure exactly how it works myself.

Unfortunately you are correct; the chinese will be running the country soon enough due to the amount of debt we are owing them. They are the new land lord – bankers, and they hold the mortgage to which our current political body may default upon.

If only we still made steel in the USA. Or, anything substantial, for that matter. The geniuses in our Federal Government have managed to turn our economy into mostly Service oriented. Our production and industrial capacities have dropped to almost nil. We grow the cotton, but don’t make the towels, or clothes, or cloth. We export the cotton and then import the finished goods! The only thing we produce in large amounts is entertainment and BS.
I recently had a conversation with an immigrant from Lithuania who was lamenting the loss of the America of the 80s. The Reagan Era America that brought down the Iron Curtain, that faced down Khaddafi, that faced down the Air Traffic Contorllers Union threatening to blackmail the government. The days when we had a backbone and actually stood for and believed in something.
