Florida Man Arrested On Drug Charges After Attempting to Order a ‘Blunt and Some Herbs’ at Burger King Drive-Thru

Man Arrested for Ordering Weed at Burger King Drive Thru

(AP) — Authorities say a central Florida man was arrested after jokingly trying to buy drugs at a Burger King drive-thru.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reports that 32-year-old Shawn Porter and a friend placed an order for “blunt and some herbs” at a Deltona Burger King Thursday night.

A cashier smelled marijuana coming from their car and jotted down the license plate of the car, and then a supervisor called 911.

A deputy located Porter’s house by running the tag number and was waiting when Porter arrived home with a Burger King bag in his hand. The deputy reported finding 28 grams of marijuana in the car.

Porter was charged with drug possession. He was being held on $1,000 bond. It’s not immediately known if he has an attorney.

So now any drive through can be agency of the state ? On their word the police can search you and your vehicle? Whether you smoke pot or not this is really creepy Burger King. Who the heck wants to patronize an informants business? Now I know why these jerks can’t ever get an order right. They’re busy investigating for the state. Maybe it’s time to test this the other way…begin calling the police anytime you believe that the drive through attendant is on drugs and ask that they be tested

IMHO, the “the war on drugs” is about as effective, and has something in common with the “war on cancer”. Both are ineffective, and both are their own industries. To win either “war” would stop the flowing of vast streams of money. The other thing they have in common is BIG PHARMA. Those who invented these “wars” do not really care about us. It’s all about money. Both of these things could be handled much better. We are like cattle, to be milked, managed, and, well, you know what happens next.

I guess they‘re putting TSA agents at the drive thru’s now. I feel like we could all help Burger King in their efforts to protect the public…C.H.I.P.- Citizen Health Inspection Police…get a dozen of your friends together and visit various local garbage pushers…phone the health department and tell them you “think” you saw an employee spitting in the food or you “think” you saw an employee not washing their hands after leaving the rest room or….you get the idea? Maybe the company will change their Snitch policy after that.

Marijuana is one of the most dangerous drugs, if only as an enabler for drug users. An entrance-way substance, it is the starting point for the addled on the path to self-destruction. It provides nothing beneficial, and those who claim otherwise are simply looking for validation of their own bad decisions. Misery loves company. I don’t want pot-heads making the food I buy, building the cars I drive, or flying the airplanes I ride on. Marijuana slows the reflexes and clouds judgment. It produces irresponsible and irrational behavior. It promotes a non-productive society dependent upon government entitlements. It must be controlled and restricted in its availability, like the opiates it is related to. It’s more harmful than cigarettes, having all the second-hand smoke and health issues, but also the additional depressant qualities. There are ZERO positive reasons to make this poison more readily available. You don’t need it.

I disagree. People will always seek out drugs like pot and alcohol. If beer and wine were not available, more people would be consuming hard liquors. The only reason crack cocaine became so ubiquitous is because pot and powder cocaine were increasingly more difficult to acquire during the early years in the War on Drugs. I think making pot legal will reduce hard drug consumption in the long term. It should be taxed and regulated. The money we could save by not sending potheads to prison would be huge! Instead of just being a burden on society, drug users would provide us with new sources of tax revenues. Legalized pot has other advantages too. For example, stupid people will be more likely to stay home and watch TV on election days!

Amazing how the media has brainwashed so many here. Pot has no effect on memory, learning , or anything else. Many of the smartest people to ever live smoked. Anyone who argues that someone who smokes pot is more of a danger than the idiot on prescription medicine who can’t walk but is “driving” legally is a fool. There is absolutely no evidence that pot is worse than cigarettes and in fact it has far less carcinogenic chemicals.

If you legalize marijuana, it would completely destroy the American workforce. Reefer makes people lazy and lethargic. All they want to do is get high, eat, go to sleep, wake up and get high some more. Close the curtains to keep the sun out, watch cartoons and play videogames all day. It’s no better than any other dope. And when they can’t find and/or afford it, they get just as flaky and stressed-out as any other dope addict. It’s soul poison, just like crack, meth, happy pills and alcohol.

@Jespasinthru, Honestly, if you believe that you have been brain washed into thinking that way. The real reason marajauna was banned in the US was pharm. companies lobbied congress, because, people would not buy over the counter DRUGS if they could smoke some buds off a plant growing in the back yard. It surprises me that people with a pharmacy in thier medicine cabinet can condemn an all natural medication, knowing only what they have been told to believe. DEF1 is absolutely right, pot is a lot less harmful than alchol. Myth # 1: Marajauna makes people stupid. An the contrary, I know many, extreamly intelligent people who smoke on a regular basis. Myth # 2: Marajauna makes people lazy. Being lazy makes people lazy. I have watched people who were high work their a#@ off all day with a smile on their face. Myth # 3: Marajauna is addictive. There is no physical addiction to pot. There is a minor psycological addiction, that usually involves detailed dreams about getting high. Myth # 4: Marajauna is a gateway drug. During the time that I did smoke, I was offered “anything you want, man” I never accepted any of the other drugs. The only reasons it could be considered a gateway drug are all due to the fact that it is illegal. * you have to go to a dealer to get it. * After they try it and learn that all propaganda they have been fed is LIES, Young people are more likely to try other drugs out of curiosity.

To All: Something to think about? Cannibus was legal in the US until 1937. From George Washingtons journals, referring to his HEMP crop……. ” The potency of this years crop is not up to par with last years crop.” I don’t believe that he was referring to the rope making qualities. If pot is so bad why did America lead the industrial revolution. Why was the American worker known for being industrious? It wasn‘t until the 60’s that the decline of American industry began. When will Americans wake up and realize that the “War on drugs” is just a smokescreen to funnel money. Our Government is the largest supplier of illegal drugs in this country. Do you honestly think if the government can read a license plate from space, they could not locate and destroy a one acre field growing in the US (this field really exists in a drug spotter no fly zone). Or make the production and shipping of illegal drugs almost impossible. Remember these are the same people who told you Obamacare was good for you.

If reefer has so many medicinal uses, why didn’t Big Pharma just extract the medicine and put it in pill form? There can’t be too many health benefits to inhaling hot smoke into the lungs and holding it there until you cough. Just because it‘s a plant doesn’t make it beneficial. Nature is full of toxic plants that can make you high.

It also wouldn’t be as “cool” any more. Maybe we would also have a mass culling of the idiots from overdoses. FINE! It would be short lived. It is impossible to protect people from themselves no matter how hard you try and how much money you spend trying. Let them (I’m talking adults, here) be responsible for themselves. I don’t take drugs, legal or otherwise, and don’t drink alcohol either, just because it’s legal. The argument that legalization will increase use doesn’t fly.
