Florida School Board Gunman Had Obsession With Movie ‘V for Vendetta’

Our original post is now updated with six videos showing the the shocking moments as a gunman opened fire on school board members in Panama City, Florida.  The gunman missed his targets.  A security guard shot and wounded the man who thenkilled himself.

Florida School Board Gunman Had Obsession With Movie V for Vendetta

We are now learning more about Clay Duke from WMBB-TV:

Some of the many questions investigators are looking into tonight—who was this man.. Clay Duke… who aimed a gun and opened fire? what prompted him to act …and what was he like?

He spray-painted a symbol on the wall in the boardroom. What does it mean?

It is the same exact symbol used throughout the movie V for Vendetta. And a look at Clay Duke’s facebook page reveals an obsession with an idea that could have driven him to attempted murder and suicide.

“he had made up his mind that someone was going to die today ”…and it’s apparent with just a quick glance at his facebook page. Something so small as a photograph can explain a lot.

School board member Jerry Register remembers “…when the fellow said…look I’m going to die and you’re going to die, too…I thought…goodbye…”

Clay duke just recently created a facebook page, which shows an obsession with the movie V for Vendetta. In his ‘about me’ section…Duke said…‘some people will say I was evil.’ At the end of the movie the main character blows up the British Parliament.

This shows you what this class warfare rhetoric from the progressives is doing.
Expect a lot more, because the left wants it to happen, all the while saying the right is espousing violence.
They are liars. The ONLY violence in two years has been from the LEFT!
Everyone from the guy who flew a plane into an IRS building to fingers being bit off by Union thugs.
ALL have been perpetrated by the left!
DON’T let Obama and the Progressives get by with this hypocrisy. write and call them and tell them to LAY OFF with this BS!
Lay the blame where it’s coming from!
    And start with Bernie Sanders.

This wories me. Will we see more of this as the harder times come? People should start talking about MLK and is message of non-violence more to counter it.

For some reason this just feels similar to when Lennon was shot and killed 30 yrs ago but without all the mourning of his death because nobody died execpt the gunman which is an act from god right there to protect those people from a pawn of Satan.

Did anyone see V for Vendetta? It was the progressive take on the future where America lost its status of superpower over the Iraq war. And even the UK, now a Fascist Christian based dictatorship, puts Muslims and Gays into concentration camps. One of the main characters who is Gay keeps a copy of the Quran in a hidden room and tells the female protagonist that he loves the rich poetic verses of the tome. How ironic considering that Muslims wouldn’t exactly be this guys best friend in the real world. The real fascist dictatorships are starting with the unions. Beware the coming revolution as we see in Greece and France.

And as we all know, a school board has nothing to do with an oppressive government.

The hacker/social engineering anarchists who associate themselves with the group “Anonymous,” also claim Guy Fawkes (a real-life 17th century terrorist who was executed for an unsuccessful plot to blow up Parliament) as their antihero. Anonymous is the group behind “Operation Payback” – a coordinated online attack against companies, organizations, and/or individuals who have spoken out against, or otherwise have not fully supported WikiLeaks.

I guess “waking up the citizens” is an entirely subjective endeavor.

Who’s to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

He claims his wife was fired and the school board member continually tries to find out who his wife was, what she did, etc. The man never says. He only begins a drunken low voiced rambling about how the board member said he wasn’t going to raise taxes, which the board member squarely denies.

I don’t believe he either is married or if he is, she actually worked for the school administrative district. I believe he had some perverted sense of fighting against new taxes while becoming a media martyr for representing the average citizen. He don’t believe he was going to shoot anyone. When he did shoot he missed and missed badly. Almost as if to add to the growing tension, but not to harm. He allowed the conversation to go on and on as if it was a movie being played out. His ultimate goal clearly was suicide, but a spectacular one at that caught on school board cameras.

What exactly is a “weak minded American” like? You have just classified a large portion of the population as unstable, homicidal, lunatics. Please state your case, I would like to see the proof.

I agree. the movie sucked. he had poor judgment in many areas. Small handguns are not accurate at all so I don’t think he was trying to miss, He just missed. I’m surprised he hit himself. So, if he did try to miss he was still dangerous because small guns like that are so inaccurate. He could have hit someone if he had tried to miss. The video had me convinced that he shot the guy. oh well, I guess he is one less mouth to feed in prison. He will only be remembered by his wife and the overpaid board members he aimed at. They fired his wife and most likely put them in a bad place.(That apparently has internet access). They never dreamed of cutting their own salaries from three times the average paycheck, Sorry guys, one of those eggs ya gotta break was a rotten one. I’m sure you still have some cake for us little people anyway.

Small, quality handguns are not inherently inaccurate. Putting one on a rest will easily prove that. They are more difficult to shoot accurately, but that’s on the shooter, not the gun.

V-Forge, are you sure the board members even get paid? I’ve been on school boards in two states, and have never gotten a salary. It’s purely voluntary. I’ve been on a state commission, and only got a (half) per diem for the once or twice monthly meetings. But, if you looked on the state website showing salaries, it calculated the salary as if I was working every day. So, you would have gotten the impression I was paid 60 times what I actually got. Point is, most of these positions are unpaid. The Superintendent, who works full time, is paid. But not the board members, who are just community members performing a service.

I think it’s ridiculous that the board member tried to reason with him. Holding up board members with a gun saying you are going to kill them automatically makes you crazy, and you cannot reason with a crazy person. You cannot make a crazy person step down and become rational. I hope people learn this lesson from this event. Don’t wait for them to pull the trigger first. If someone is brandishing a weapon saying they are going to use it to kill someone… You should believe them and not wait for them to commit the act first.

Also, the only thing that stops a crazy person with a gun committed to violence is a sane person with a gun committed to self preservation.

And my first initial to my name actually starts with V.

Let just blame his entire life of problems that lead to this moment on a movie.

    V. : But on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace soubriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona. Voila! In view humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the “vox populi” now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V.

I believe the early reports were statements from the hostages on the school board; they thought he must have been shooting blanks because none of them were hit and/or killed. The police have said otherwise as of last night on the local news. I live in Panama City, so was of course watching all of the local news intently.

Most are unstable when they feel that violence is al that is left to get their message through. I wish he visited my site, http://www.savingtherepublic.com , maybe he would have put the gun down and tried to utilize some of the tactics I developed. It is one of the reasons behind why I created STR was in hopes to give someone on the brink an outlet on things they could do to affect change while staying within the rule of law.

Tragic, but those people are very lucky he was a bad shot. I hope they dont make a witch hunt out of ‘V’, I can see the PC police stepping in “oh you see that movie influences ppl to enact violence” yada yada.

With all the hate and fear the Progressive Socialist and their media puppets flood on America about class warfare it is no wonder this sick man flipped out like he did. He was a devote fan of Media Matters and swallowed their propaganda. He was a self professed Progressive and demanded “Social Justice” in his writings and in the last moments of his twisted sick life.

His blood and the horror he imposed on those he attempted to kill are on the Progressive Socialist hands.
