Fmr. Arizona Sen. Russell Pearce: ‘9/11 Would‘ve Been Averted’ if Federal Government Enforced Immigration Law

Former Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce, who was instrumental in getting Arizona’s controversial immigration law passed, appeared on CNN’s “Starting Point” on Tuesday and told Soledad O’Brien that “9/11 would’ve been averted” if the federal government had enforced immigration law.
Pearce was reacting to the Supreme Court’s ruling on SB-1070, which resulted in three out of four provisions being declared unconstitutional but left one key component in place, the so-called “show me your papers” provision. He said he is “disappointed” the Court did not uphold all of the immigration law but reaffirmed that Arizona will continue enforcing section 2b, which allows police officers with “reasonable suspicion” to check on a person’s immigration status.

Condescendingly, O’Brien asked Pearce how police in Arizona would implement the remaining portion of the bill. “How is it going to be enforced? How’s it going to work? What does it look like? Someone’s driving in a car and they are stopped with a broken taillight – what happens?”
“Well, nothing if everything’s OK,” Pearce replied. “It’s like any other stop. An officer is trained to pay attention to things that don’t fit.”
Pearce went on to argue that two out of three Americans “agree with what Arizona is doing” and called SB-1070 a “reasonable law” that only “codifies” federal law.
“There’s never been a preemption against the states enforcing the law, never,” he said. ”But apparently to the cheap labor, the cheap vote crowd, it’s OK. The deaths and costs in billions of dollars is OK for them. It’s outrageous.”
“Do you know had the immigration laws been enforced… 9/11 would’ve been averted?” he asked O’Brien. “Four out of the five main hijackers were stopped by law enforcement and let go and were in the country illegally… But apparently that’s OK to the Left.”

The host interrupted and told Pearce he was “articulating the frustration” of the people in Arizona. She then quickly shifted the conversation from the failure of the federal government in enforcing immigration law to racial profiling. She asked him how he could ensure racial profiling didn’t occur while immigration law is being enforced.
“First of all, that’s demeaning to law enforcement to even assume that,” Pearce replied. He added there have been no legitimate cases of racial profiling resulting from SB-1070 confirmed in Arizona and Chief Justice John Roberts made that very clear in the beginning of oral arguments of the Supreme Court case.

demolition is involved. Jet fuel doesn’t burn anywhere near hot enough
to affect steel. But thermate does, the chemical make-up left
behind at the scene identified the explosives used in taking down
the buildings. Building 7 was never in any danger, but they demolished it

The towers were the first major construction jobs to have a newer insulation applied the red iron skeleton instead of asbestos. In fact, the change occurred after asbestos was applied to the very first few floors of the first tower. The celluloid insulation was still in it’s infancy. This will not stop the heat damage anyway, it is applied to slow the damage hopefully long enough for the occupants to escape. The JP8 or JP10 was not the fuel that caused the damage, but was more the match that got it started. Ask some firemen who work around tall buildings and ask them what kind of potential ‘fuel’ can be found inside a building that will burn hot enough to cause this damage. The beams do not melt by the way. The heat will get hot enough to cause expansion at the joints enough to snap rivets and crack concrete.

Just under nine months wasn’t it? Bush having taken office 20 January had not done a budget yet. Well, should have been working on one since it would be due to go into use 1 October 2001. The budget that was in use was Clinton’s. Before I retired from the Army in ‘97 we already knew that Clinton was filter massive amounts of funds through the military. Therefore the 10th Amendment has not teeth. The way our founders set up the government was to have the Senate elected by the state governments therefore the Senate would represent the state’s interest and the House of Representatives would naturally continue to be elected by popular vote of the people…
Senator Russell Pearce is right on the money. If the Federal Government doesn’t control our border there is going to be hell to pay…
President Eisenhower was able to correct the problem for 10 years… If we have the will to do so, we can solve this problem… Since the Mexicans have done such a bang up great job with their country to the south of us, what makes anyone think they have anything to offer the United States??? What it may take is a boycott of farm produce (or any product: chicken – tyson foods, etc…) where illegals are employed. With social media so prevalent today, holding the employers of illegals responsible may be as easy as a website or as complicated as the federal government… OK its corny but “YES WE CAN!!!”

As Pearce has said, at least 15 of 19 hijackers had overstayed legal visas in order to commit the terrorism. Do you as an American get to ignore laws and regulations that you don’t like? As Obama does?

Posted on June 26, 2012 at 7:45pmTurn the weapon over to an officer at the plane door. Store the weapon locked in the cockpit. The owner gets the weapon back when leaving the plane and can lock and load before exiting the craft. If they did that I might fly again.

The sheriff down in cochise county. said he is going to take all the illegals he arrests (on state charges) and drop them off at i.c.e. offices and let them figure out what to do with them. I think most law enforcement is taking the same attitude. I hope they do.
