O’Reilly Lands Pre-Game Super Bowl Interview with President Obama

Leave it to Bill O’Reilly, cable news’ biggest name, to land an interview with the country’s biggest name on the biggest television-viewing day of the year.O’Reilly Lands Pre Game Super Bowl Interview with President Obama

According to TVNewser, O’Reilly has landed an interview with President Barack Obama to run on Fox broadcast network on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 6.

No details of the interview have been made available, but TVNewser notes that since taking office in 2009, President Obama has granted Super Bowl Sunday interviews to news anchors at the network with the broadcasting rights of the big game. In 2009, Obama spoke to NBC’s Matt Lauer, and last year, CBS’ Katie Couric got the honors.

Since Fox Sports has no broadcast news division, the interview went to Fox News Channel.

The last time Mr. O’Reilly sat down with Obama — Sept. 4, 2008 — the then-senator was in the middle of running for president.  It was a heated, yet cordial meeting of the minds.

    A lot of interesting comments here. Will Bill stand up to BHO and give a strong solid interview by asking the tough questions no one in the lame stream media dares or will be another soft ball interview with the rest of week Bill bloviating about his prowess as a interviewer and begging his guest to agree with him on the strength of the interview such as we had in 2008? We shall see!!!

      Right, This will be Bill’s reference on every issue for the next two to three weeks after…. He‘ll have that lady analyze the hand jestures and he’ll have Colmes on debating then when you think he’s all finished beating a dead horse, out come the guns.. Dennis Miller will bloviate about how Great Billy was during the interview.. I can’t watch him anymore…

    I think that Mr. O’Reilly has been soft on President Obama on his show in order to land another interview. Now that he has that interview, I sincerely hope that it isn’t weak. I don’t think that his last interview was very tough. That said, I don’t think this should be like his now famous interview with Barney Frank, which was enjoyable to watch, but not appropriate for this situation. Besides, Barney Frank goes out of his way to not deserve any respect. Mr. O’Reilly has the skills to be very firm, but remain respectful. I hope he holds President Obama accountable and doesn’t let him “spin.” He could set the new standard for questioning President Obama, instead of those so called “press conferences” that are held by the President so he gets nothing but hand picked questions. If Mr. O‘Reilly can’t do it he should have Glenn Beck fill in at the last minute and not tell the President.

    Regardless of your opinions of the president, he is the president. Even if Bill does or doesn‘t agree with Obama’s policies, he should treat the office of the president with respect, period.

      Do to the atmosphere of football and folly I believe this will be an Ice cream social. I don’t believe that BO wants to be hammered from all directions for “attacking the president”.     I’ll be sure to miss that “interview”, because I have gotten WAY sick of O‘Reilly’s rude, sexist, belittling, insulting, boorish and short-tempered style. And yelling “C’MON!”, “C’MON!” isn’t what I consider a legit debate tactic. And that’s with people who presumably like him! With Comrade Obama, I‘m betting O’Reilly will kiss his… uh… “ring”.

      Really? I was disappointed. O’Reilly is just a smug celebrity who loves to hear himself talk, and thinks everyone hangs on his every word. Every time Beck has had him on the show, it’s been nothing but avoidance, denial, lame jokes, and of course that massive ego.

      O’Reilly has to be one of the worst people on FOX to get this. He’s just the head of a popularity contest (why, I have no idea) who goes easier on the opposition than his own side half the time. He won’t go all the way… just offer some obligatory softball questions he’ll stop short on, then pander to the left and act “cool” which is more annoying than anything.

      Pal time with Obama, and smiles all ’round. Nothing will get accomplished apart from his ego going up another few notches. He’ll just show everyone how “fair & balanced” FOX can be. No doubt continue the trend of appeasement and “bipartisanship”…

      I already forgot about it.

      BMartin- I agree 100%. If Bill gives another feather-lite interview with this man I won‘t be watching him again and won’t be reading anymore of his books. I realize that a certain decorum is required giving this is an interview with the president- BUT, Obama is the most destructive president we have ever had. And if Bill does not at least ask him if he believes that he has upheld, defended, and protected the US constitution, then I will not support him any longer.

      So, can someone ask the President…if he’s going to bail out California along with a list of other bankrupt States? California’s current debt is well over 20B….this year. Next is expected to be more towards 30B….pensions and large Government programs that have directed funding….So year after year bailouts? What soverenty will be asked of the States to give to the Federal Government for this gift? How much control? We borrow money from the Chinese low paid hard working people to pay our people to not work for 2 years. The privately owned (Non) Federal Reserve should make sure they greased their printing machines up so they can further devaule the once all mighty dollar. State after State…year after year, will be drinking from the polluted pond…to what end?

      I am sick and tired of seeing Barack Obama’s face splashed all over the place! Over-exposure or what? I just hope O‘Reilly won’t act soft… Tough questions for this president is what we need!

      I agree with KNOTACLU – I think O’Reilly is too “chummy” and easily taken in by Obama’s facade. After all, he fell for the, “don’t you think its ok to pay a little more, people like you and me?” bit. No, its not ok to take from a private citizen. You are supposed to protect individual liberty, not infringe on it.

Good show !… My question is why does Obama have to siphon air time from the super bowl to spew his tripe as though we haven’t heard it all before ? Their relationship to the super bowl is a parasitical one, and I for one will not watch as it is a day of football not a day for “Obamajinazad ” to spew more of his crap to a most captive of audiences. O’Reilly is just grandstanding and both of them should take a day off and leave us alone. Obama has incredible nerve to force himself on us this way…My recomendation is DON’T WATCH !

      Wonder if they will hand O‘Reily the questions or if he’s allowed to ask what he wants..it would be better if it were Beck but the #2 man is OK to..

      I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts that BO has been “lectured” from more than one side on “just how” this interview will be conducted, you can bet on that. BHO is not a man of courage, is in fact thin skined, and does not possess the kind of intregrity required to take the kind of heat we want to see.
      I’m not watching. How the hell did the super bowl become a venue for this horse pucky in the first place ?

      BHOBS during the super bowl ? c’mon man !

      It’s not that great a thing. Bill is ok but he’s pretty much a lightweight in terms of conservative values. He won’t be tough enough in the interview.

      I hope he proves me wrong though.
