LONDON (AP) — Britain’s stubbornly high consumer inflation rate rose to 3.3 percent in November from 3.2 percent the month before, driven by a surge in food and clothing costs.
The Office for National Statistics said Tuesday that prices for food were up 1.6 percent and clothing by 2 percent.
The consumer inflation rate is well above the government’s inflation target of 2 percent, plus or minus one percent. It has been above 2 percent for more than a year.
The broad-based retail price index was up by 4.7 percent in November from 4.5 percent in October.
Retail prices excluding mortgage interest payments were also up 4.7 percent, from 4.6 percent in October.

Posted on January 16, 2011 at 8:53pmWe’re getting prepared for anything that may happen. Was at the store the other day and bought Kroger brand green beans for $1.06 a can. I remember not too long ago when they were .69 cents a can. Went online and found meals for .91 cents a serving, dehydrated from premium-grade fresh raw American foods. Food that is not genetically altered, no illegal fertilizers or insecticides, no hydrogenated oils and zero trans fats. Certified kosher as well. I got 6 free meals, just paid s&h. http://www.kristenschuster.myefoods.com Food is delicious!

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 3:17pmWhile the British students riot over college fee hikes England burns. This is the reason why the British government has to pass the fee hikes but they are not going far enough. Just like here they will not cut their own salaries, deeply cut their bloated socialistic government, trim unnecessary College programs, and really treat the British economic system as a patient at death’s door.
Report Post »Drastic measures are needed for England’s economy to survive and just raising student fees will not do the job, including the students singular purpose for their riots. They should be rioting not just for their selfish reasons of higher student fees but for a decades long Socialistic government that took care of its citizens from cradle to grave.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 10:10amThe final countdown on your food freedom has begun, and the Food Safety Bill may pass the Senate on a final vote and it will be on its way to Obama’s desk for signature. The final vote may occur as early as today and the only hope to stop it is to call your Senators and scream bloody murder that you want them to vote no on any legislation to which the Food Safety Bill is attached. I find it outrageous that the House attached this massive takeover of our food supply to the Continuing Resolution Bill which must pass in order for the government to be funded into the new year. I cannot emphasize enough that calling, emailing or faxing your Senators today is of vital importance if this dangerous legislation is to be stopped.

The solution of course is to back yard garden, on as much land as you can, learn to preserve the harvest, and sell your excess to neighbors for cash on the barrel head. Encourage everybody else to do so as well. We are under no obligation to follow tyranny.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 10:59amYou can be guaranteed your food prices will rise in the Food Safety Bill becomes law. The Senate will probably pass it this week since it is attached to the Continuing Resolution Bill which must be passed to keep the government funded into the new year. Call your Senators and tell them the Food Safety Bill should be stripped from the CR Bill and then voted down because it is a terrible bill and will rob us of our food freedom in America. The more I research this bill, the more terrified I become for our country.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 9:23amTo my knowledge the Food Safety Bill still has not passed the Senate on a final vote. The House sent it back to the Senate attached to the Continuing Resolution Bill which will fund the government into the new year. The Senate will probably take this up today or tomorrow since they approved the tax cut bill and sent that back to the House. It is expected the CR Bill will pass the Senate this week. I think it is outrageous that the House attached such a massive takeover of our food supply to another bill. It should have been sent back to the Senate for a final vote as a stand-alone bill. My only hope right now is that Tom Coburn, who has consistently opposed the Food Safety Bill, can somehow stop it in the Senate. It should be stripped from the CR Bill. I have been contacting my Senators regularly and telling them I want them to vote NO on any legislation to which the Food Safety Bill is attached. I have been warning people for months that this is the most dangerous legislation in our history. There is still a small chance it can be stopped if enough of us protest to our Senators. In my opinion, it is worth fighting for our food freedom until the very end.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 1:52pmTo be entirely fair we cannot sit back and blame Obama. This has been a long time coming. There have been times in the past when a light has appeared and began to turn this runaway train around and then the American people throw the switch and send us rocketing back the other way. After Regan came the semi-progrssive H.W. Bush who then lead the people to Clinton who then lead us to semi-progressive W. Bush. W. came on strong in the first term and then got compassionate in the second. This has been a long road and we need a true Libertarian to throw on the brakes and then get us back to the Constitution. Our lives are being controlled by government at every turn. Even at local levels the politicians cannot keep themselves from meddling in our lives. Restore property rights and freedom.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 1:11pmMrsclark, that is good news. Worry more about food than guns, unles you live in a bad part of town, in which case, why don’t you already pack? Historically, foor prices go crazy, shortages develope because people, knowing prices will go up tomarrow, buy everything they can. The average rate for hyperinflation is roughly a doubling of prices every 26.5 hours. So food is the priority.
