The wide receiver’s fans quickly took to the social networking site, many to express outrage over his reading choice.

Twitter user DrDeeps was among the first, writing: “Just lost a lot of respect for you for being a f**king beck fan. Idiot.” Ochicinco responded: “Damn Glenn Beck pissed you off kind sir.”

      @ INTHEBEGINNINGOD,

Exactly, “Do your own homework.” I’m thinking that these “un-fans” of Chad’s are to busy on Facebook chatting away to come anywhere near a book. Isn’t it rather stupid in the first place to declare their relationship over because of what one reads? But then again I speak of fans!

Last year, my Mother had expressed an interest in Sarah Palin so as part of her X-mas present I bought Palin’s first book, “Going Rougue.” We were at my daughter’s house who is a closet liberal when Mom opened that present. My daughter went nuts! ‘It was trash, useless, the woman dosen‘t know what she’s talking about.‘ She’s talking to her Grandmother this way and my Mother, kind of p@ssed me off. I stopped her there, asked her if she’d read the book, she said, ‘No’, I told her she may as well come out and admit she was a liberal because those are the only type of people I know that could give such a critique out of total ignorance!
She will speak to me once in a while and I get to see my four grandchildren occasionally.

It’s amazing at how the more “tolerant” side won’t stand for any opposing opinion. They don’t want to even listen to a different opinion. Amazing that they would “disown” Chad who has done a lot worse than read a book by a conservative author.

never really much cared for sports people all that much… mostly since I don’t follow sports to begin with.

My opinion of that man, has gone up significantly.

Firstly, because he is interested in seeing more than one side of a situation.

Secondly, because he stands up, unashamed, for doing so.

Lastly, because he continues to be gentlemanly and respectful towards people he doesn’t agree with, and even when they’re hostile to him.

Hats off to you, Chad. Even if you end up disagreeing with everything you’ve read, we need a lot more like you.

Informed debate, is a healthy thing.

It’s a shame that Chad only got on the band wagon now. Just think if he had been a Beck fan 2 years ago and bought gold when it was $850.00 an ounce abd silver was around 10 to 11 dollars an ounce. My 30 year old sons wish they had listened to me and had doubled their money and they have told me that they left their company money in stocks and even in bank acounts that paid nothing.

I admire his honesty in his response despite the detractors from the Left. He sounds like a man who can make up his own mind and doesn’t take the party line. Blessings to him and his family. It’s ok to read anything you want for entertainment, I would find his views hilarious if he did not spout them as fact to get stupid people to vote against their own interests, but don’t confuse one persons twisted and fictional views to be anything even CLOSE to the truth. Winny the Poo and the WWF would be closer to the truth than this very sick individual’s book.

College and young people love sports stars and he could get the conservative word out. I think if he would start with Becks book then go on th read about Soros, the biased media and the Czars he would find alot of good facts to be conservative. In reply to WEBSKIES post. Have you read Glenn’s book? Doubt it. If you are like the liberals in Congress that pass a health care plan without even reading it (because it’s too long), then in all likely hood, you have not read the book. If you were to take the time, and read, and listen to what Glenn has been talking about over the last several years, you will realize, without a doubt, that Glenn has been almost dead on with what the future of this country holds. The amazing part is, while on FOX, Glenn could take you back to what he said, 1 to 2 or more years ago, and his predictions were dead on. As Glenn said, history repeats itself, and unless you take the time to read about it, you will remain clueless, and wonder what happened when the proverbial S#*T hits the fan. When it does, and you are not prepared, just look me up, will be happy to help. Have a great day.

There are many conservatives who watch, love and support the game of football, and we don’t curse and moan when a football star reads a book. What is it that the left is afraid of? Maybe that this gentleman might agree with some of Glenn’s observations? Glenn has always encourage his listeners to do their own research and form their own opinions. I give this guy a lot of credit for tweeting it AND standing up for it based on the fact that the book was making sense to him. As for those who unfollow him—they are the ones who are losing out. It amazes me that the left has easily brainwashed it’s followers (i.e. those who listen to news snippets only and think it’s “cool” to vote for the black guy regardless of his background) into hating someone they know little about.

It’s not that Chad has changed his mind..he is still a self centered, over paid sports flunky. It’s just that his “fans” find it hard to believe he would actually read a right wing book to be able to compare both sides of the arguement. To them, it’s Alinsky or nothing…how dare he try nd think for himself. Me…I just find it incredible he can read….

      TRUTH
      Posted on July 24, 2011 at 8:48pm

It’s good to support his decision to read the book, but to become a fan because he did is just as dumb as his followers criticizing him for it.

      —–

No, it isn’t. His followers criticizing him for it, are fans, because he can move a football down the field.

Becoming a fan because of him reading the book? That is because he is an intelligent and seemingly fair minded person, who is interested in learning about the issues that concern us, trying to seek out a more well-rounded idea, of who he is, and what he is about.

I can’t help but wonder tho. How many of us, are truly willing to do the same thing, reading the liberal/progressive writings to round out our own opinions, or do we just notice the footnotes, and assume the writer knows what he is talking about, and look no further.

We have closed-minded people on both sides.

We all need to read more from people we disagree with. Not just the liberals/progressives.

Beck reads books from the other side… what does that make him? Oh yeah…. a researcher.

George S Patton read his opponent, Field Marshall Rommel’s book. Does that mean the US Army should have canned his ass??

Nothing wrong with reading a wide range of material. Whether Chad is exploring/searching for something in his own life or just gaining a better understanding of the “other side”, what’s the big deal? It’s his life.

Liberals really need to get a clue.

You took the words out of my mouth. Liberals claim Conservatives are intolerant and not open-minded, yet they exhibit incredible intolerance. I’ve read many Liberal books. In college, you are forced to read from Liberal writers. They have no problem with that, but if anyone reads a Conservative book, they lose their minds and spew hate. It seems to me that they simply don’t want people to know the other side of the argument; they don’t want people to know the truth.
Liberal elites are hypocrites and liars. Most of their voters seem indoctrinated and are clueless about what Conservatism and Libertarianism truly is.
I’ve read both sides of the arguments and have chose Libertarianism over Progressivism and I have become aware of the extremely numerous lies that wealthy Liberals teach as gospel. Progressive and Liberal history is filled with dishonest, hypocritical, arrogant and hateful leaders simply using the issues of the day to create voting blocs for their own devious purposes. Liberals try to paint a history blaming Conservatives for the actions of Democratic Progressives.

I don‘t blame the poor Democrats because they’ve been offered only one view. It’s mostly the wealthy Progressives that are perpetuating the lies and hatred and keeping the country divided. Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Lyndon Johnson are 3 of the most dishonest Presidents, yet most Democrats continue in their footsteps like mindless lemmings marching the country to an avoidable demise. Histo

Thats it Cinco man, its all said from research. Facts are his ammunition. Beck isnt brilliant, hes informed! Liberals use profanity and loud speech as their tools to debate. Why, because thay have no information. Why, because they choose to be uninformed.
Beck provides that. The Liberals need someone who can give them the facts, good and bad toward their cause. Then and only then will they be able to debate and consevatives can start taking them serious again.

Yep. Once dated a girl back in my dumber more-youthful days that always used to laugh, make fun of, and roll eyes at conservative thought. When asked why she didn’t like a conservative political candidate, the response was “because he’s scary.”

See Chad, liberals don’t operate on reality. They operate on impression and theory. Their MO is to isolate, demonize, and destroy. This is why, no matter how hard they try, they will be fringe elements. Learn the truth for yourself. The reason why they try to dominate the media is to insulate independent-minded individuals like yourself from learning that truth.

Fact is, there is no debate of Ideas in Public Schools. There is presentation of liberal doctrine and scorn for all else. Most books would meet the “approved” standards for any Commissar. If there is a right leaning book, it is heavily critiqued while what I consider to be propaganda books are offered as modern common understanding or fact. Real shame that these books are probably the last things our kids will read that shape their world view, the remainder of their educational experience will be reinforcing the party line.

Common Ochocinco – be a man and form your own opinions about what you read – not what FANS say. Have an off year – and those same fans will dump you like a hot coal. I compend your at least reading the book – no matter what your take on it is.
