Former Bachmann Staffers: National Campaign Team Is ‘Rude, Unprofessional, Dishonest’

Bachmann Staff Who Quit Claim National Campaign Team Rude & Unprofessional

CONCORD, N.H. (The Blaze/AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann has had her fair share of campaign staff upheaval. In the latest instance of staff turnover, five staff members in her New Hampshire office have quit. And now — they’re speaking out.

The former staffers say they were deceived and treated as second-class citizens before they left in frustration last week. In a news release, the five former staffers said they hold no ill will toward the Minnesota congresswoman, but they could not continue working for her because her national campaign team had been “rude, unprofessional, dishonest, and at times cruel“ to them and ”abrasive, discourteous, and dismissive” of the state’s voters.

Bachmann Staff Who Quit Claim National Campaign Team Rude & Unprofessional“These are our neighbors and our friends, and some within the national team treated them more as a nuisance than as potential supporters,” the group wrote.

Bachmann’s spokeswoman did not return a call seeking comment Monday.

Bachmann has visited New Hampshire just twice since announcing her campaign in late June. During her latest trip earlier this month, she blamed her absence on the August debate in Congress over raising the nation’s debt limit.

In their statement issued Sunday, the former staffers also tried to clarify confusion that arose Friday when Bachmann’s national spokeswoman disputed reports of a staff shake-up. The group said Jeff Chidester, Bachmann’s New Hampshire campaign manager, quit on Thursday, but informed the national campaign that others might be interested in staying if national officials reached out to them.

The other four staffers quit on Friday after their efforts to get in touch with the national team to discuss their concerns were ignored, they said.

The staffers said they all had been full-time, paid employees until Sept. 11, when they were asked to temporarily go “off payroll” due to financial concerns.

“It saddens this team to see a dedicated patriot — a person so desperately needed in the White House — sequestered behind a wall of pretense, guarded by political operatives consumed by their own egos,” the group wrote.

I once was a huge fan of mrs. Bachmann’s, but when she started her campaign I began to notice her in ability ti stay on message. For example when she was asked a question about what she thought about Gov. Perry’s plan for a flat tax and in particular the 20% rate she started talking about her plan and how her economic plan has always called for a flater simpler tax. This is surprising to me coming from a tax attorney that she would not have some constructive critisms of the the flat tax plan. While she critisize Mr. Cain plan saying that there was a VAT tax component in the 999 plan, which was wrong, she ad no letigimate critisims for the flat tax plan. I don’t think we want a President who cannot stay on message or be direct, especially during the campaign.

Uh, the 9% sales tax IS a VAT, and you’re a tax attorney? What school did you attend, did they teach spelling, or editing? Repubican’s credibility goes out the window when we cannot even put together a sentence without misspelling and wrong punctuation. You might want to re-read your post and correct all of your grammatical and spelling errors before you post so you don’t look like the idiot Liberal you look like now….

No one, except Team Obama media and its paid trolls, cares about this “inside baseball” nonsense. It illustrates the puerility and irrelevancy of MSM political commentary, for which the average voter has nothing but well deserved contempt. This story was manufactured by the MSM.

This elitist sort of nonsense is my inherent problem with Repubicans (yes, REPUBICANS, you know who they are). I’m a die-hard conservative and wanted to help the Repubicans at the polls one year and was treated exactly the same: much more of a bother than a supporter. See, I‘m a musician and didn’t fit in with their ideal of a “young, homeowner type,” as one Repubican poll manager said to a group of us, while looking directly at me….

I know the above is anecdotal evidence, but the Repubican’s smug, elitist attitude is more than a little off-putting, and I’m glad to see folks like Herman Cain and Sarah Palin scare the living crap outta them! Now if Bachmann would only dump these inside Washington Repubicans….

Some say Bachmann have limited experience, Cain has zero experience and is doing well, Obama had zero experience and got elected President. Bachmann is a radical conservative, the opposite of Obama from the left. If the Republicans nominate another moderate, then we will deserve to suffer the consequences the future have for us. It’s gonna take a no nonsense radical conservative to reverse course and turn our fortunes around…

Hey, Michelle! good luck with that goofy double (or even single) border fence covering “all 1700 miles” . . . what a silly girl.

What’s really silly is when Obama stated the border fence was virtually complete back in May of 2011 in El Paso. Even Politifact said it was false. But you know, considering that back in the 5th century, the Chinese built a wall that well exceeds 1700 miles and is 120 feet tall in some places. What makes them think they can do this now? /sarc

The problem seems to be with the use of “professional” campaign management. Look at what these so called experts. did for McCain in 2008. Sarah Palin attested to the problems with a good number of them. Karl Rove is another exaople. Guys like Mike Huckabee and Herman Cain basically ran a flat but cohesive organizatioin and kept their ethical principals pretty much intact.

She is definately still a candidate, did you see her Iowa Faith and Freedom Speech: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2011/oct/bachmann_iowa_faith.html.

She gives a good speech but will she ever be able to gain back ground on Romney, most likely not now that Cain and Perry are fighting over the Tea Party vote. And then there is Romney who has a solid 22% of the GOP vote, but can he gain more of it… most likely as the candidates start dwindling.

I can understand why people would support Michele Bachmann even with her limited experience. What I do not understand is why anyone would support Mitt Romney.
He is a sheep in wolf’s clothing.
      He is a weather vane.
He has executive experience, but no foundation. His political philosophy seems to be, “Half of my friend are for it, and half are against it – and I’m with my friends.”

She needs to go home and just be, she is not and will never be the caliber of person it takes to lead this nation, she is just another wannabe, just like Palin. GO HOME BACHMANN, can we prey you away?

Mrs. Bachman must get control over her national staff if she plans to remain a serious candidate. This situation does not speak well of her management and supervision skills. Sounds like she may have surrounded herself with opportunistic bullies and probably failed to set expectations as well. Her reaction to this is now very important.

Hmmm…I wouldn‘t dismiss the staffers’ remarks too quickly. Ever had a female boss? This might be an indication of how a Bachman administration would function “on the inside.”

Interesting, that is how McCain’s team was describe too, although Michelle is head-and-shoulders above McCain. Too bad these five didn’t wait until after the Republican nominee has been chosen – you have to wonder about their timing and how much they respect Michelle Bachmann.
