After MSNBC’s most popular host abruptly announced he was stepping down Friday evening, former Fox News and MSNBC host John Gibson took to his syndicated radio program Monday offer his own opinion of the circumstances surrounding Keith Olbermann’s exit.
On Monday, Comcast executives insisted their corporate merger with NBC Universal had nothing to do with Olbermann’s exit. The popular story making the media rounds is that Olbermann had long-strained relations with the network’s management and that his exit was inevitable. But Gibson says don’t believe what you read — Comcast forced Olbermann out:

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 5:58pmRats -> Olberman, F.F.Piven et al are really scary only when they are in the shadows. It’s better to have them in the spotlight. Then you can see for yourself they are nothing but small scared vermin. I hope they continue to express their views. All one needs to do is listen & then – this is important – think about what was said. I mean really think about what they mean, their intent. Presto No thinking human being can agree with much of it.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 6:12pmDid Olbie ever really rate, except for comic relief? Sure, he raised MSNBC ratings during his time. But, really, was he influential in the deepest of terms and definitions?
I expect you already know the score, of course. I’m being rhetorical, to tweak liberal noses. :)
Olbie served his purpose, and now his spotlight is burned out. He hated Palin and did his level best to trash even Bristol–a little girl.
If the battlefield now be cleared, Sarah is standing. Not Olbie.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 5:47pmWhere did John Gibson go? Did he leave when Beck got hired? I kinda liked that guy when he was at Fox News.
In a way, it was good having Olbermann out there talking. Like Beck says, the more they say the more we get to know who they are and what they believe. He was a perfect example of a leftist telling us exactly who the left is every night. In that respect, I‘m not that happy that he’s off the air. Will they replace him with a more polite and CIVIL leftist who makes communism not sound like such a bad idea? With Olbermann, the more he talks, the more he‘s doing a favor for conservatives as far as I’m concerned.

We need people to support the United States, not one trying to tear it down. We must make sure the people that sya “Every man‘s life is at the call of the nation and so must be every man’s property. We are living today in a highly organized state of socialism. The state is all; the individual is of importance only as he contributes to the welfare of the state. Posted on January 24, 2011 at 5:51pmNot true. People will always want the truth about what is going on in the world around them. If that is the product you provide, the consumers are waiting. MSNBC’s problem was not a “profit seeking” corperation. It was they’re lack of understanding of the product! The truth has been a mystery to that network for years

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 7:13pmDo you really think that any owner of a newspaper, radio network, or television network is not profit driven? It has always been like that. If you think otherwise you need to leave lolly-pop land and return to reality. Add to that Olbermann’s prima-donna conduct and just what a pain in the butt he has been to his employers, and the result is Olbermann heading out the door. His biggest problem with Comcast was that he had such a huge ego that he thought that they couldn’t get rid of him. As Gomer Pyle would say “surprise surprise surprise”.
Report Post »I would consider getting Comcast just for this but they don’t support the small town that I live in.
abc
Posted on January 24, 2011 at 7:38pmActually, PBS and NPR not profit driven. While they receive grants from certain private companies, these are not short-term ad buying campaigns but long term grants that greatly insulate the reporters and editorial staff from being influenced by the business side of the media organization. This so-called Chinese wall also used to exist in American newspapers and television journalism operations, but no longer.
