Former Obama Fundraiser Gloria Estefan Turning to…Herman Cain?

Back in April, Gloria Estefan ruffled some feathers in the Cuban-American community when she hosted a fundraiser at her house for Barack Obama in April 2010. Some conservatives were upset that the Estefans would make such a partisan move after the conservatives had supported the couple during an anti-Cuban-government march the month before. Well, those supporters might change their tune once they hear the audio from Estefan‘s appearance on Howard Stern’s program on Wednesday, where she expressed interest in GOP candidate Herman Cain.
Estefan told Stern that even though she hosted the $30,400-a-couple event for Obama, she “didn’t give any money” and didn’t even know the people who were there. She went on to say that she thinks Obama is “doing a good job” as president but that she is “kind of liking a lot of the message that Cain is talking about.” It’s a message she called “common sense.”
Say what? Listen for yourself below courtesy of Sharpelbows.net:
Estefan’s remarks may not be surprising if you believe what she says about not making up her mind about voting until the election actually comes around. According to the Miami Herald, the Estefans have always claimed to be “nonpartisan.”
Swinging from Obama to Cain would definitely prove that.

He has already said that the Federal Reserve does not need audited. Now with her getting on board with Cain lets just say that does not ease my skepticism.
I wouldn‘t make to much of the Florida straw poll other than Cain’s rousing speech right before the vote swayed a lot of the delegates. Posted on September 28, 2011 at 2:06pmShe’s on record as favoring a lot that has to do with traditional American values and some of what she has said has been tainted with a hint of anti-European American rhetoric. That’s strange since she is obviously a white Cuban, likely with ancestors from Spain, but, then again, the most rabid anti-American, anti-white haters in Hollywood are the lilly white Susan Sarandan and Jean Garafolo, so go figure.
What influences the likes of Sarandan and Garafalo I’m pretty sure are the Cultural Marxist plantation owners who are involved in motion picture production, who aren’t shy about letting actors and actresses know their dislike for American traditions and the people behind them.
Rush Limbaugh said actors/actresses are far left loons because their profession is concerned with “touchy/feely” emotions, but that’s one of the few things he has wrong. Those in the movie/entertainment industry are as they are, because they wouldn’t get any work if they were traditionalists and conservatives.
Hollywood and the rest of the the entertainment world has been lost long ago to the flakes, oddballs and misfits who despise America and non-Jewish European Americans.

Posted on September 28, 2011 at 3:56pmThe poll that Beckstheman cites is incredibly flawed. The first 5 questions don’t even consider Cain. The 7% he sites (Q13) considers all republican canidates as running for president. As if all seven will be nominated. The cross tabs on page19 show that Cain recieved 6% in Thurday (before the debate) and 10% on Saturday. The percentage of respondents were 41% on Thursday and 26% on Saturday. If you weight the responses by percent received versus percent interveiwed , then Cain comes in considerably higher than 7%.

Herman Cain may very well make a great VP for Mitt but I personally think his 999 plan is just a political gimmick and would most likely never pass and be signed into law.
Don’t like the idea that he was on the board of the federal reserve either. This lady‘s endorsement means nothing unless she knows something we don’t about him.
That said I will vote for anyone other than Obama even Perry who is my least favorite of the entire field.

Now polls differ. I think CNN has Romney BEATING Obama, of maybe it is Zogby. the point is, if you look at the rasmussen report (and ignore their first paragraph which flatly contradicts their data) Cain has been steadily growing in his number against Obama.
Obama’s unpopularity is a key factor. The race is wide open, but Cain is viable. I’m beginning to think his non-politician angle will sell really well with moderates and independents, like Estefan, and if he can get the base behind him AND convince establishment types that he is viable he may pick up steam and start steam rolling the “frontrunners” and then flatten Obama next year.

Once it caught my attention that the Federal Reserve was not REALLY Federal, I began to question its existence. With that said, I cannot change your mind, but if you are interested in learning more on it, I can direct you to some good starting points.

Second, because as you state, they’ll pass a VAT and keep the income tax and then by golly, gosh, now we have two and look, we have to raise the rates because of “budgetary concerns”. It has been raised many times and the top % has been like 39%. What is to stop future congresses from upping that 9-9-9 to like 30-30-30 or maybe 16-28-40 and beyond. Cain’s plan just adds another tax on top of what we already have and in a bad economy I am not so sure that a consumption tax is the right direction to go. There are no provisions in Cain’s plan to keep future Congresses from continually raising it.
I am beginning to think Cain’s loyalties are with the Federal Reserve not the American people.

Posted on September 28, 2011 at 6:36pmThe 999 plan IS meant to replace the income tax.
Cain said it himself on Beck’s show. He said flat-out that the 16th amendment needs to be repealed and the IRS abolished so that congress can’t just run up the 9% at will, they will need a super majority to do so, which will serve the purpose of drawing an awful lot of attention to it.
I’m getting a little weary of the whole “Chairman of the fed” scree too. I like Ron Paul. I’d like him better if his (lack of) foreign policy wasn’t so outrageous. But, please, enough.
Just because he served as Fed chairman (In Kansas City, not the main federal branch) doesn’t make him some evil Lib One World Order type. He explained his work there, and how he felt about auditing the Fed (Feel free, don’t think you will find anything) more than satisfactory as far as I am concerned.

Romney say that he wants to lower the corporate tax rate to 25%, so what will keep congress from raising it back up in the future? Nothing. Any plan that a candidate espouses can be changed in the future. But I submit that it would be nearly impossible to raise the sales tax, because that would be a tax increase for every American and that wouldn’t be politically viable.
The plan has been scored to be revenue neutral. The only thing that would keep congress from raising the income tax or the corporate tax would be you, and every other American. I like the plan because it’s a bold plan and would most definetly jump start the economy. It would make this country the most business friendy country in the world, and that’s the way it should be in a capitalistic society.

I agree with several posters that if(big if) 999 gets implemented it will soon become 10-10-10-then 10-15-10, 15 15 15…And if someone like Barak Obama gets in it will be 50 50 50. I really believe it will transition to a VAT Tax type structure which negatively affects consumers and lower incomes. I do not trust this plan to work well for the middle class to lower incomes.

While one can rattle off about whether or not Obama was honest or not, the point is, most independents will choose a candidate based off of relative trust, not policy. (Who do you trust more? A wolf or a wolf in sheep’s clothing?)
Herman Cain is good at getting across this message of, “Hey, I’m one of you, you can trust me to do what I say I’ll do.” Predictability goes a long way, especially to business owners.

Posted on September 28, 2011 at 12:21pmHerman Cain had better keep a eye on her if she is let in his circle. I would say she’s a PLANT. Obama will do whatever it takes to retain his power.

Posted on September 28, 2011 at 12:19pmI hope this is true Gloria, you have no idea how dissapointed this community was when we saw you host Obama. I hope she gets informed and if she believes in Herman Cain calls him up and host a fundraiser for him too.

Posted on September 28, 2011 at 12:24pmI don’t know about common sense when she say “I think Obama is doing a good job”. For me that eliminates any common sense. If she is really non-partisan, why did she do a fund raiser for the great Oblahblah? Actions speak louder than words.

Posted on September 28, 2011 at 12:16pmYou’ll find this to be a growing trend. Most of the elder Cuban Americans will hopefully continue to school their youth on what its like to live under a dictatorship such as Castro’s. We don’t need dictator barack (hugo chavez wannabe) doing anymore damage to this country than what he already has.
