Former Pa. Gov. Ed Rendell: I Believe Hillary Will Run in 2016

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell believes Hillary Clinton will try again for the White House in 2016.
According to a BuzzFeed report, Rendell wrote in his new book “A Nation of Wusses” that he believes Clinton has no interest in another presidential bid at the moment, but will change her mind:
“She is bone-tired — the job of secretary of state is far more grueling than that of the president, with the nonstop traveling, the constant jet lag, and the odd-hours phone calls to accommodate foreign officials’ schedules. Still I believe that when she gets some rest and has a chance to reflect on what she wants, the challenges facing the country will be too great for her to resist and she will change her mind.”
Rendell, a Democrat, was a strong Clinton supporter during the 2008 election cycle and campaigned hard on her behalf. She soundly defeated Barack Obama in Pennsylvania’s primary, 54 percent to 45 percent.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, “If she agreed” to another run, Rendell said he would volunteer to be her campaign manager.
Rendell believes Clinton is a “non-wuss,” according to CBS.

Posted on June 3, 2012 at 2:23pmIf that’s true, then Hillary is one of the biggest liars and hypocrites in the political arena – next to Obama. I don’t think anyone could top him at this point in that perspective. The reason I say that is because she said on CNN that she was done with politics after the 2012 elections. Ironically, Obama also said before 2008 that he had no interest in running for president. I feel that the liberals don’t really care as much about being successful in who they nominate as long as they set precedents in the process – first a black man, now a female – regardless of the candidates reputation, they probably assume that the mainstream media will disregard many of the controversies involving their political past. An example of this would be how they would completely ignore awkward moments such as the infamous photo of Hillary when she was drunk on Air Force one.

It all depends if Republicans win majority or not. If Repubs win majority there will hopefully be some drastic changes and we will see progress. If dems hold onto Senate then we could be stonewalled for four more years. Also, I dont think dems have much of a chance for anything. Obama is going to taint the democrats for quite some time. Hillary will also have some dirt come out regarding her heading the State dept. during the Romney President. Hillary is done after this, period.

Democrats at the highest level know that Obama is in deep trouble, and it is getting deeper. Hillary is a darling to the Democrats, and having her run would motivate not only the base, but would sway many independents away from Romney.
I‘ve been saying for over a year that the Democrat’s “Plan B” if Obama was in trouble was to let Hillary lay low until the Democratic Convention, and then draft HER as the candidate, with only 10 weeks left until the election. That 10 weeks would hardly allow time for the Democrat’s euphoria to subside, inspiring a significant turnout, while catching Republicans flat-footed and having to completely change their election strategies. In a protracted campaign setting, Hillary can probably be beaten with a well thought out campaign strategy, and a strong opponent (not a Romney). But against Romney, and with only 10 weeks until the election, Hillary would have a much more significant chance of retaining the White House for the Democrats than Obama.
Polls have consistently shown that a significant portion of the Romney vote, especially with independents are votes against Obama, not for Romney. Many of those could/would change immediately to Hillary were she to run.
If the best Republicans can do is Romney, I guess they deserve to have this as a potential problem to face.

It would bring in everybody from the left w/o disenfranchising any of them. I do believe they will wait till the convention, essentially last minute, to produce the dream ticket, which ever one it is, so they can ride the emotional high of the voters till Nov. w/o having to worry about voters having time to vet or think rationally with the help of MSM, of course. I think that ticket would unfortunately bring in the independents because they would put more weight on the power of VP than there really is, thinking she would be the ying to his yang and reign him in a bit mistakenly thinking she is more moderate and rational than we all know she really is.
