Former Secret Service Agent to Beck: Scandal Is a ‘Disgrace’ but Much of It ‘Is True’

As accusations against American Secret Service agents in Colombia regarding a prostitution scandal look worse and worse with each day, former agent Daniel Bongino spoke with Glenn Beck Tuesday to discuss the alleged misconduct from his unique perspective. The former agent and current GOP Senate candidate in Maryland said the situation is a “mess,” and has been receiving information regarding the case from his brother — a Secret Service agent on the trip but not involved in “any prostitution component of it.”

“It’s a disgrace to the secret service,” said Bongino, going on to confirm that based off what he has heard; “unfortunately a lot of what’s come out is true.”

Bongino served on the presidential protection division and told the New York Times that his colleagues “lived like monks.”

Bongino appeared on NBC  Nightly News Monday where he said the incident was “devastating” to current and former Secret Service agents, and “a national embarrassment.”

    “When the cat’s away the rats will play”. In ‘08 the fawning media pushed the CIA/State Department’s choice for Top Cat on our country. What we got was a foolish vole with a colorful pelt. Vermin won’t clean up, the GSA, the Secret Service, the DOJ or, whatever turns up when the next rock is lifted. The ship of state needs constitutional ratguards. That job belongs to the press. Where have they been, at a party with Mickey Mouse?

    The 44th president is not “my cup of tea” but I still respect the office. A few agents who make these negative-choices, I will give a shout-out to the other dedicated SSA and thank you for your important service & protecting the president.

    It’s cultural. We finally have a Secret Service that looks like and acts like America. That’s a good thing, isn’t it?

    How long will it be before we see a 6′10″, 450 pound agent wearing his pants around his knees, a mouth full of gold, grabbing his crotch, cell phone to his ear, standing next to the president.

      I spent over 20 years with Diplomatic Security. Lots of protection experience as well as chief of security at Embassies where Presidential visits took place.
      Unfortunately this is not new: just something that finally hit the papers. Doesnt mean the USSS isnt professional and doesnt do a great job. They just are not angels. I can’t recall any trip I was involved with, and I probably was involved with at least 100 presidentials over the the years, where there were not some pretty wild times.
      I don’t condemn the entire organization for it or even the supervisors necessarily. Certainly don’t need to fire the Director as some have called for in Congress. And I also don’t agree that national security was likely compromised in any way.
      Morally reprehensible? By my and most standards, yes. Poor judgement? Most definitely. Should they be sanctioned in some way? Of course.
      But the congressional and media response is WAY out of line to what happened.

    Forget the “hookers” for a moment.

    The most terrifying bits for me center around the agents’ flashing if their credentials, where they are alleged to have asked: “do you know who we are….?“ as if ”who” they were mattered at all.

    That kind of demonstration scares the ever loving pee pee out of me – as ANY federal agent acting under ANY federal authority, would act similarly and AGAINST the people. e.g., Nasty Guardsmen opposite a hurricane, or after a tornadic event. I am old, half-dead and far too weak to fend them off in defense of my natural rights. I FEAR MY GOVERNMENT. THEY SCARE ME!

    When military and special forces type make mistakes I feel bad for them because their own deal with them accordingly. I’d be scared outta my mind if I was one of these guys who messed around in Columbia. That’s why we have Jesus to turn to when everyone else hates. So sad. I’m not judging here BTW. I have no idea what happened, and even if a couple bad apples ruined it for a group, it’s awful.

    Amen, the CO really made a snafu out of this. Perhaps on purpose, maybe he had a bone to pick. But there is not a SINGLE excuse that will do here. Incredible exercise in irresponsibility and poor judgement. He needs to be canned and probably a few others as well.

    But I like to see O’Dumbo get another black eye. Just glad I‘m not the poor guy who’s going to suffer because of this.. that guy is done!

    One must wonder if members of the Secret Service have seen and are seeing what the leaders
    of our country have been getting away with, and are getting away with. They no doubt have been asking themselves , do I want to take a bullet for this piece of dog s–t ? Being human, some are no doubt convincing themselves , if he can hide his shortcomings, why can’t I ? Does this excuse anyone’s actions ? Of course not. The key word here is cynicism. Seeing a lack of morality day after day will affect any human being in a negative way. One example is a street cop, who sets out to save the world. After a few years, of living in the proverbial gutter, hardens even the best.

    Regardless of who or what prompted the mass whore party, it is frankly immoral and extremely dangerous to POTUS, or anyone else they are protecting, to allow yourself to be compromised when on or off the type of job they do is just insanity.     I wonder if some of these Secret Service guys are really buddies with Obama.. of course he would like his own guys protecting him.. but here is my thought.. what if… these guys are actually Chicago thugs!! I just can’t see secret service men acting this way.. these guys are well trained men and women! Personally if allthis stuff is true.. well they have tarnished our country.. but they learned alot from the master! If you get my drift!

    Wow Reddenblack you sound like the voice of reason. Let me expand on what you said.

    Alot of the Secret Service people, the real protection details, and door kickers are much like elite soldiers. They are absolutely professional and do the best job on earth. Most of them are hard core, hard chargin, alpha males in the their 20‘s and early 30’s. When people like these are on duty, you can rest your little head because they are the best on earth.

    BUT…when they are off duty…and these guys were…they party like its friggen 1999! They drink, smoke, fight, and whore around like a buncha teenagers. They do it because their job is an unforgiving b*tch, that asks everything and gives back nada. And men like these let it all hang out when they party.

    You send a buncha elite men like this to a sweltering hot country filled with hot latin women..what do you expect them to do when they are off duty?

    Now thats reality folks. Our soldiers, and protectors are not a bunch of friggen hermit priests. Some of this soldier hero worship I’ve seen lately seems to want to attach the moral equivalent of Ghandi to some stone cold professional soldiers. It just ain’t true!

    The secret service commander on the ground screwed up. He let things get out of hand. Fire him, and his immediate staff, and let it the hell alone.

    Bah. This isn’t surprising or uncommon. Ask some (ex) SOF people if they ever took advantage of being in a remote location. Anyway, people are people, and the Sec. Service has it’s share of people without common sense as does every other organization. The Washington Post wants to play up the infidelity angle on (”Wheels up, rings off”) this and make it into a big deal – wanna bet stupid stuff doesn’t happen with their intrepid (non) reporters when they‘re off on ’assignment’ also?

    The secret service are soliders. (I know, i know, homeland security not department of defence and marines/airmen/soldiers/sailors/national gaurdsmen are the REAL soldiers yadda yadda yadda, spare me you Nonsense military holier than thou crap. They are soliders who just wear a plain black suit.)

    If you are DUMB enough to willingly join the army or whatever, so you can go get dropped into some foreign hell hole and get shot and blown up and DIE for NO GOOD REASON….then you are dumb enough think you could hire 11 prostitutes and skip out on a 47 dollar bill and think you couldn’t get caught.

    All this BS I read on the blaze about how “our soliders are heroes, and walking titans and we should all just fall on the ground and thank them for gracing us with thier presence.” is a load of crap. The are government employees, no different than meter maids or mailmen, or DMV employees. Get over it.

    These secret service people are stupid, and they did something stupid. There is no “consipiracy to replace them with the new black panthers. (BTW, the entire New Black Panther party is less than a dozen people. Gonna be real hard to defend a president with a dozen people, plus scare white people at voting booths, and come to your house and take away your gun. 12 new black panthers. 12. Thats what your scared of. 12. people.) If you people really are in the millitary, then we absolutely deserve to lose a war.
